  1. Provided I am reading it correctly it looks like its over 8900 now. Is that right?
  2. Haha if you go, post a report. I'd like to know how you do. On the rivers condition - I haven't been down, but I imagine its getting a nice cleaning out.
  3. Well I usually check the website for generation, I just don't know enough of the numbers yet.
  4. Well that definitely sucks, that's good to see though bc the river probably needs a good flush!
  5. That doesn't show ahead of time though right?
  6. Having a bit of a brain fart... There's been one unit running recently, so I am assuming there will be one running tomorrow since I am thinking about driving down in the morning. One unit is safely wadeable and fishable correct? For some reason, I can't remember how much water is coming out at one unit! Thanks for your help guys!
  7. Thanks guys! I'll be headed there this Saturday for a day of fishing so I'm starting to get excited. It's looking like I'll tie up some general nymph patterns and some dries, I'm not a big one to fish dries when there's much more subsurface action going on. We'll see how the trip pans out. I'll probably pack some Wooleys and stuff, though they will be a fall back. I like the pine squirrel leech more than a wooley bugger more lately. And I hope to see some snakes as well! I'm looking to get a bar/pole/extension fabricated to use with my gopro that I can get some close up shots of some snakes with out getting too close! Thanks for the info guys! And if anyone has anything else to add don't hesitate! nw
  8. Here's Jeremy tying it. http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=A7f0APLxkbY&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DA7f0APLxkbY
  9. Lived here for over 15 years and have never been fishing there. Even used to ply at the fields and still never went. Is this access the same one I hear about stripers on?
  10. So a list of flies anybody? I'm not big into buying, so getting some tied up before is my game plan. I look forward to the challenge of it though. I'm sure it'll probably be a crash and burn but trial and error is what makes us better. And don't worry about the barbless, I take care of the fish I catch, regardless of where they're from.
  11. I'll have to check that. The moss was pretty bad, but I seem to have better fishing with the moss throwing olive and green 'moss colored' flies. Probably just a theory, but still seems to be what happens for me. What was working for you?
  12. http://northeasternflyfishingperspective.blogspot.com/2013/03/help-some-worthy-people-out-make.html?m=1 From Rich Strolis' blog.. Sounds like a great idea and cause. Just wanted to pass it along.
  13. Took the morning to go spend some time unwinding today at the LIR. I was interested to see what shape the river would be in since the dams have stopped running for work being done. It wasn't much lower than I expected, but the moss was already pretty overwhelming already. And the best part, the fishing ended up being much much better than I expected! Spent the whole day at Watts right below the parking lot. The fish were midging, so I started with a midge under a palsa. Took awhile to find the right color/size combination, but the biggest key for the midges was the correct depth. It was interesting because I could watch the fish and set the hook before the palsa ever moved, and most of the time, the closest fish would completely ignore it, but a fish 6 feet away would zip over and grab it. Fun to watch. Caught all browns on that, except for one rainbow. All the browns still seeming pretty small, as in stocked recently small. I seem to recall someone telling me that the browns should grow pretty quickly, but other than the few and far between larger browns, I haven't seen any difference in size. Changed up to a olive pine squirrel, and the fishing really picked up, in both size and quantity. Just a slow strip back to me. I picked up no browns with the pine squirrel though, all bows. And they were all very beefy! Two of them were a solid 14". Broke off three fish on three pine squirrels in a row, so called it a day there. It was very cold once the wind picked up, but all in all a great day on the river. Tried to attach two picks of one of the browns from the GoPro, but I have to resize it first. The browns definitely had some fantastic colors, didn't even look like a hatchery fish.
  14. Where is Zink Dam at?
  15. Heading to Crane in a couple weeks. Never been there so I'm looking for advice on access points and where to fish, flies, rigs, etc. Any and all advice is appreciated!! Thanks guys!
  16. The trip as a whole went great! Jeremy was a great guide, and he kept us on fish the whole time. I would recommend him to anyone! We had one 20" bow while out with Jeremy and that was the biggest fish of the trip. Wade fishing was slower than being in the drift boat, but it was still consistent enough to keep us going. I had a 14" bow at night and another that I never got to see that felt massive. It's those fish that make me want to get back ASAP! I also saw several big rainbows while wading. All in all it was a fantastic trip and I can't wait to get back!
  17. Saw that last night. Beautiful fish!
  18. I like the Miracle Fly on the jug head the best. Super simple and super fast to tie and they look great as well
  19. Heading down to Taney next Sunday. This'll be my third or so trip, and a first for my dad, usually I stay up by the dam bc there is easy access. I am curious what other areas have easy access for wade/bank. We will be primarily fly fishing, no boat. We were going out with a guide on Monday but for the times that were on our own I would like to get a better idea of where to go. Thanks guys.
  20. I played all the way through college, but after getting out of the game and moving on with life, it is hard to keep up! I didn't even know that the US was playing Honduras till after the fact! Have you seen the Liverpool show that follows the team through practices and what not? I have only seen a few episodes of it, but it is a cool idea, though Liverpool is not my team. I enjoy(ed) ManU and watching the youth go up through their program and into the real team. Ferguson definitely has it figured out.
  21. Are you only using one camera for all this too? And your fly tying videos included?
  22. Hey I have some flies that are either falling apart, look like **** or that I just want the hooks out of, so what are the best ways for getting the hooks clean? Aside from using scissors, which I would rather avoid, are there other way to clean them off?
  23. Is that with a GoPro? Cool to see that on our home river! I'm pretty sure I caught that rainbow with that spot on its head just a few weeks ago. It was one of the thickest fish I've had there. It seemed to have quite a big of hook in its jaw as well!
