  1. i dont have any info on the ice situation but if you are able to fish please post a report. i dont live there anymore but i grew up on loz and use any excuse possible to make it back as often as i can. even tho its a 2 hour drive. what kind of fish do you plan on targeting?
  2. can a guy do any good off the bank? and is it just a morning and evening thing?
  3. are they catching many whites at the pot hole?
  4. ok. im not a huge trout guy but have caught some 7 lb plus rainbows and some 5 pound plus browns on floats and secret summertime honey holes in small little known streams, but most of those fish wouldnt bite anything but a 4 to 6 inch live shiner with one side scraped a little so the scales come off a little in the water. throw that in a hole you know holds big fish and they WILL eat it!
  5. no i think its just getting started.
  6. in my opinion a hybrid is aclose second to crappie, maybe they taste better when they fight so dang good lol.. and walleye third. just my opinion. but any red meat will ruin it! are you guys splitting ur fillets in half and getting the WHOLE red line out?
  7. im not a huge smallie fisherman but wish i woulda had a tape measure when i caught that 6 pounder . my buddy that was with me had his digital fish scale luckily and i got the weight and let her go. we were actually trying to catch an early striper
  8. the biggest one ever landed was a 6 pounder at tecumpseh during a freezing rain event in february. however a had a giant (6 plus) break my line at the bank while creek hopping at LOZ in mid summer
  9. i did ok. a few small hybrids and whites. all on jerkbaits and white jigs
  10. i live 2 hours away from there but im heading up there about 3 in the mornin till probably noon ... or until my wife calls lol. but ill give a report when i get back
  11. did you by chance get the water temp?
  12. ive been doin pretty good at beaver , swan and the pothole on smelt gulp minnows and swimming minnows . ive actually been after whites but have caught a couple keeper eyes each time ive went . slow rollin jerkbaits would probably work well also
  13. thank you! me and im sure a few other die hards would appreciate that more than you know.
  14. does anyone have info on when they come up into norfork river/creek?
  15. can you do it anywhere on norfork? people keep sayin that stripers pile in tecumpseh and dawt but i have yet to see more than a couple a year come outta there

3 years ago i caught a 6 pounder at the forks of tecumpseh. only fish i caught all day
  17. i wouldnt mind trying them on a skillet. i will have to try for them next time im at forsyth. i watched a show about them this mornin and it made me wanna catch a few.
  18. i was at powersite last year throwing a cast net trying to get some shad and to my surprise i got back about ten small yellow perch . does anyone target these fish? do they have any size to them? all the ones i netted were only 4 or 5 inches long.
  19. im with you there. i prefer spinning reals also for everything. but im not a huge bass fishermen either though
  20. i wanted to go but the wife had different plans. i figured the pot hole shoulda been hot last night before the rain really started. anyone know?
  21. thanks for the info. im gunna have to at least try these places. im a glutton for punishment
  22. theres an old road that brings you out above the mouth of that creek across from the marina but u gotta climb up an down a huge hill. when the whites and hybrids start runnin you can catchem there and stump hole which is up the river and around that first corner thats a good spot. under 160 bridge is good and all the way up to dawt when they runnin good. id say 2 maybe 3 weeks tops and the fish should be all over you. i found a cheap boat and should have it legal by then i will give shout and maybe we can break it in with a load of fish
  23. ive been askn that question for 2 years and everyone is very tight lipped. from what i understand they should be around tecumpseh under the bridge or up to the forks. im not the best source of info though cuz i live an hour away and have never really caught anything good at norfork. well i did catch a 6 pound smally 3 years ago at the forks in a freezing rain event while fishing for stripers. but ive seen lots of pics from this time of year of big stripers from stump hole to dawt
  24. for some reason for the past ten years ive never had very good luck at udall stump hole or tecumpseh. i keep going back because i know there are big hybrids and stripers in there. i just cant catchem lol. my favorite places to bank fish are truman, bagnell and powersite dam. i always catch somethin good at these places. big creek, swan and beaver on bull shoals are all great places to go with no boat. i just wish someone would report stripers at tecumpseh becase i would burn some more gas and try my bad luck again
  25. im getting anxious again. has anyone caught any stripers around tecumpseh or dawt yet ? ive been trying for a striper off the bank for several years now and you have to think its gotta happen eventually.
