  1. I’m coming from springfield so I can go anywhere. Is the dock at the state park ramp usable? That’s where we normally launch and I’d like to be able to tie the boat up to something when I’m working on the trailer, as long as there isn’t a bunch of traffic.

Anywhere I can put my boat in the water tomorrow? I’m needing to put boards on the trailer and run the motor for a little while.

  4. We run 25lb or so braid for main line to a snap swivel. Attach weight to swivel. 4-5’ flouro leader to bait also on swivel. I haven’t tied into anything heavy yet but my buddy had a huge carp on that eventually threw the hook at the boat. Those rods have an enormous amount of flex. I’ve got hung up and been completely doubled over to the point I was sure I was gonna break one, but nothing popped. I wouldn’t be scared at all of a 5lb walleye. You definitely need a good lightweight extendable net and running that setup solo would be rough. It really works best with three guys in the boat that way one dude can man the back rods and unhook as needed. We normally swap out so everyone gets a chance in the hot seats. Front generally produces way more than the back.
  5. Those are 14’ Ozark signature series. The guy I fish with runs 16’s, also Ozark signatures. Pushing under a heavy heavy weight is the way to go imo. We rarely will have more than 50’ of line out. Usually ~20’. That business with running them 300’ behind the boat or 50/50 with a clip on just sounds like too much work.
  6. We generally run 8 rods and push them off the bow under 3oz at target speed of 1.8mph. May run a couple long lines off the back too, but then turning sucks. It can get lively. Some flickers, some bandits, whatever feels lucky at the time.
  7. 115 for all or apiece?
  8. Ouch. That’s no fun.
  9. 56-60 as of saturday
  10. we got into them saturday, mustve been around the same spot as Eaton. About ran the dang boat aground more times than we could count but we got our limits, spider rig with the swivels at the surface. water temp was right at 60
  11. That’s a nice graph but I’m not in a position to spend that much at this juncture.
  12. Just picked up an xi3 and looking for a graph to put next to it. Lowrance would be nice but I’d look at anything that I can use the built in transducer in the motor with. Cheap is good if possible. Let me know what you’ve got, thanks in advance.
  13. My boat could use a new bow graph, as the one thats there currently is a garmin with a screwed up screen. maybe I get lucky and not have to rewire everything. whats shipping to 65807?
  14. Location?
  15. Gonna try and spend the weekend at the lake. Any pointers?
  16. is that mostly in the main sections up by kimberling and whatnot or is the whole lake a racetrack on holidays?
  17. Lol, good catch. Labor day here in a little less than a month.
  18. So for memorial Labor Day weekend ( I know, probably bad idea) the family wants to go down to table rock. I havent been on that lake since high school, so roughly 15 yrs. Normally we go up to pomme to skip the crowds but for whatever reason they want to go the other way this time. How busy is it down there generally? Most likely fish in the morning/evening, and kids swim/tube during the heat of the day. Any pointers for somewhere thats fairly quiet and low key?
  19. i have a couple of each but havent tried using them with the "wrong" base. When I'm at the boat next time I'll try that and let you know.
  20. Headed up to pomme tomorrow and was thinking id try to catch some fish when it wasnt super hot. Any tips/tricks for night fishing? Are the lights worth messing with? What areas of the lake are best right now?
  21. Personally I'm good on kayaking in the cold haha
  22. I did the scouting for you guys. And I checked on this dude he says come an get me It's not impossible by any means but it's high and quick. Jamestown Bridge is kinda sketchy. 6' ish rapids and just all around choppy water. A lot of 2' swells. Speaking of that...Theres a pretty nice medium action spinning combo somewhere downstream and my buddy would be pretty stoked if someone picked it up. Don't be a girlyman get out there before it gets cold!
  23. It rained Friday night but we had a great time anyways!
