  1. Went out on Friday morning between Theodosia and Pontiac. Water temps around 80-83, around 5 ft visibility. Tried flipping some brush and fishing pockets, but nothing. Ended up catching several LMB and kentuckies off of main lake points, either casting or trolling a crank and a couple near main lake channel swings. Nothing big, maybe up to 15 inches but it was an improvement from what was happening a couple weeks ago. Also caught a few bluegill up shallow in the evening with really nice colors. Hopefully things will get a bit more consistent with the water steadily dropping.
  2. Went out for a few hours Saturday then again Sunday evening. Fished Theodosia arm, water temps 65-70 and 3-5' visibility. caught one nice crappie by accident shallow and a couple bass on a drop shot 15-20' deep. One other short LM on a jig shallow Sunday evening and that was it. I was hoping it was going to be better than last weekend but it ended up worse. oh well, I'll be back for Turkey day so hopefully the bite will pick up by then.
  3. That is awesome! Thank you!
  4. For the deeper fish I started with a grub. Moved to a spoon and drop shot after that bite quit. In the brush I used a jig with craw trailer, around 3/8 oz.
  5. Had a decent weekend on Bull. Water temps were about 87 when I looked, and the further up the Theodosia arm I went the more stain there was in the water (didn't make it all the way up the river). Fished early and late Saturday, and late on Sunday. Not much happening for me Sunday, but Saturday was better than expected. Caught lots of small LM and spots, some decent keepers, plus a few bluegill and crappie as a bonus. The wife caught a nice 2.5lb smallmouth that she said almost gave her a bruise while fighting it in. Most fish came from ~20ft deep, though a couple came from the flooded brush. I probably won't be back on the lake for a while given the heat, skiers and water fleas, but the creeks should be fun for the next couple months.
  6. Fished this past weekend in theodosia arm, WT 55-58, stained to moderately clear water and lots of wind Here are a few more fish for you, though probably not the kind you were looking for in a tournament. I apologize a few of these pics may have been cut off - either my phone is acting up or the wind was really getting to me. One pic is a non-keeper double on a single crankbait, another with a big gill that also hit a crankbait. The other pic is the first yellow perch I have ever caught, but given the fact the he was apparently spawning maybe there will be more in my future. I did catch a couple of keeper black bass and one good size white in the morning, but they were about 25' deep on isolated rock which is not where most others were fishing. I had a much better weekend last week, but my success is always spotty at best so don't read much into that.
  7. Good catch on the date - it should be 3/26 & 27. Thanks.
  8. Fished in the stained areas of Theodosia arm. WT was 53-58, air temps were nice most of Sat but chilly and windy on Sunday. Tried to fish shallow, but nothing happening there for me but a few nibbles from gills. Moved deeper and started doing better. Caught a good bunch of LMB and spots, as well as some gills and crappie for good measure. Also caught one nice 4.5# walleye when bank fishing. Definitely had some fish full of eggs, so hopefully a good spawn coming this year. Most fish were on minnow style baits and stick baits.
  9. Water temp - 67-70 Water level - 664 to 662 and falling Water color - stained Fished Theodosia arm all 4 days. Found a ton of mostly small bass in the coves on the edge of the brush/near the old shore line. Caught 20-40 LMB/kentuckies, bluegill, white bass and crappie each day (~6 hrs of fishing) between two of us. This was consistent for all 4 days. We ended up with enough bluegill/crappie/white bass each day to clean 5-15 good fish each night. We caught most casting grubs, but also a few trolling crankbaits. I also caught a couple 2-3 lb LMB from the shore on a jig, plus had several hit a and missed a topwater.
  10. Fished a few days over this weekend with marginal success. Found several small bass near brush around the shore, but only 1 keeper kentucky. I did catch several bluegill of decent size along with a few small sunfish. The bluegill were about 10-15' down around brush in many places around the lake. Spent one afternoon up the river at Norfork but only 1 small bass. Looking forward to fall...
  11. Fished this weekend up the Theodosia arm in between the rain and boat traffic. The road to the marina and the ramp north of the bridge provide good access to the water but with limited parking. Most of the core park in Theodosia is completely under water, but it made for good fun for folks wanting to swim on/through the playground equipment and shelters. There is some wood floating, but with any wind the lake is clean enough to boat if you are careful. Not much luck on bass, other than a few here and there on topwater and ned. Fish looked to be concentrated about 20-25' deep right above the thermocline. I also tried grubs, shakey head, drop shot, trolling/casting cranks but nothing happening. Did have some follow the bait to the boat and watch it while I tried to get them to bite - frustrating. Did manage to put together a crappie pattern with minnows on Saturday that got us a 1/2 dozen keepers to make a couple meals out of. That and the one gar my wife caught made for a decent weekend.
  12. New ramp at Theodosia under water but usable. Old core ramp flooded but usable, minimal parking. Courtesy doc ok on both.
  13. Fished Theodosia arm on and off this past weekend, did OK on Crappie. Best day was Sunday, with about 20 fish in the boat mostly just under 10", but had 4 keepers. The biggest was over 15", so enough for a good meal. Fish were in brushpiles located in 20-25', suspending at around 15-20'. Only caught 1 or 2 per pile, most were caught under cloudy skies or at dusk.
  14. Fished Theodosia arm this past weekend, mostly AM and PM and skipped the heat in between. WT 81-83, 6-15' visibility. Had a tough go of it. Caught a couple LM with a spinner bait at about 9PM in about 10 feet of water near some docks. Sunday morning found Kentucky and LM off of a bluff with some submerged timber, which I caught on a salt and pepper grub about 30' down. Otherwise not much to speak of.
  15. Fished this past weekend in Theodosia arm and had 1 good day, 2 OK. Found the bass in main lake pockets and creeks with brush, 4-10' deep and a couple of bluff walls at similar depths. Used a worm and jig with craw trailer. Best bite on bass was late in the day after 5, but I didn't start before 9AM so that could have been good as well. Caught one short walleye around 5' deep on a mudline formed from wind blowing across a point. Crappie were in shallow (<20' deep) brush piles. Had 7 from 10-15", but sorted through about 30 shorts to get those and it took most of the day.
