  1. As I keep working through my tackle stash, I keep running into some stuff I used for salmon in the PNW. Quillback will recognize it, but many won't. I'm trying to decide if I should keep it and try to find uses for it or if I'd be better off to learn how to eBay the stuff. What I have is a bunch of divers, a pair of manual down riggers, flashers (both kinds), dodgers, and a bunch of lures--mostly spoons and heavy spinners but also a lot of drift-fishing gear like Spin-N-Glos, Li'l Corkies, and a bunch of various hooks. Did I mention Jet Divers and side-planers? The Spin-N-Glos and Corkies will stay here (walleyes like 'em), but the rest give me pause. The smaller in-line flashers will probably work for stripers/wipers on deep trolling applications, but the dodgers? Dunno, y'know. The side planers might work in the tail race somewhere, but I'm not sure what they'd drag out there. I'm hoping some of you have experience with salmon gear in use around here and will be willing to help me resolve the stacks of stuff in the basement. Thanks.
  2. That does mount on the front; it just doesn't have the cable/pedal business... and it is only 12-volt. It might work if he's desperate in the short term, but it's not what he's looking for.
  3. It doesn't fit the requirements, but I have an unused-but-scratched Great White 12 volt, manual steer that I'll let go cheap.
  4. Try ibuprofen. It helped me after I had an extremely bad reaction to the second Moderna jab.
  5. Hi-- Send at the check to: Keith Jackson PO Box 206 Clinton, MO 64735
  6. For sale: One Patagonia SST wading jacket, XL. This thing is virtually new as I wore it once and kept it in the back seat for one season as I tended to avoid rainy days. There is no evidence of wear, scuffs, dirt or stains. In other words, it's practically new. Since I no longer wade fish when the weather is cold and rainy, I'd like someone else to use it. It has an oversized hood, large fly-box-sized chest pockets and the other features listed on the Patagonia site. The new price for this puppy is $399 (I have a hard time believing that), but I"m asking $125, which is close to what I paid. Here's the link (it's nearly impossible to find on the Patagonia site) : https://www.patagonia.com/product/mens-sst-fishing-jacket/81865.html?dwvar_81865_color=SMDB&cgid=root. I'm not sure that this jacket has all the bells and whistles of the newer model, but the essentials are there.
  7. Like to paint crank baits? Are you looking for something to do over the holidays and cold weather? Have I got a deal for you... Picked up this bunch of unappreciated crank baits at a garage sale and have pulled out the dozen baits I want to keep, so the rest are available. As a disclaimer, I will say that there are at least 12 (more or less on the left side of the image) that are missing things like bills, eye screws (hook hangers) and other things that may require more than paint to be fishable. There are some gems here--Norman DD22s, quite a few Bombers and Excaliburs, Bandits, one Poe's cedar and a few that cannot be identified. I figure that I can fit them in a mid-sized USPS guaranteed delivery box, so I'd like $20 for the lot, which includes shipping.
  8. Thanks for the info on patterns, sizes and colors. I did some online searches as well...and came up with even more. It's kinda strange to see other colors creeping in. For instance, purple seems to be a strong color in Wisconin, especially on Winnebago. Trolling through those sites kinda makes me think-- "pulling" or "pumping" is a technique that is interesting. The flies are fished on a three-way rig with a heavy dropper and sinker and a spinning rod. That might be worth playing with in the lower end of Truman, but it won't see use in Cole Camp Creek arm-- which is where I do a lot of fishing.
  9. Since I'm pretty much under house arrest for a couple of months, I've got a burning urge to redo my fly gear and focus on pursuing whites this coming year. But I'm new to the idea of using a fly rod for them, and I'm looking for guidance on flies. I do know about Clousers and Wooly Buggers, so I'm after other patterns, sizes (what size WB?) and offbeat colors. I have a ton of searun cutthroat flies and flies I tied for chum salmon, so I'd like to blend those in as well. For instance, I have a bunch of Clousers, but they are mostly an inch and a bit long. I imagine they will work when the shad are small but later...? Thanks for the help.
  10. If you really want some tippets: http://www.anglersworkshop.com/Lady-Amherst-Crest-and-Tippets Apparently the necks are in stock..
  11. Got 'em. Thanks. Will reply later.
  12. Can you send images? That's about what I'm looking for... it would be more of an "ending" boat than a starter boat, but I can live with that.
  13. Ah, the MOAS procedure... had that done on an ear. Cut, scrape, bandage and wait to see if the lab says they got it all. It took three tries in one afternoon before the cancer was cut out completely. On the plus side, the doc did get it all. That is enough reason to wear a hat, use sunscreen and visit the dermatologist on a yearly basis.
  14. Plus the Mag Warts and the Rapalas if you want them... I'll message my address. I don't do PayPal, so it'll have to be a check.
  15. First, the Okuma Cayenne bait caster is back on the market. Second, I have a bunch, well 12 to be exact, pre-Rapala Wiggle Warts for sale. They are all painters, although some could be fished as is with the addition of hooks and split rings. One is a suspender. Included in the group are two Mag Warts, both pre-Rapala. For $80, I will ship them to your door and include a Rapala Mag Wart and three Rapala Warts. While the price seems steep I realize, I also realize that I can go to other targeted sites and sell them for more, but I'm lazy and thought I would OA folks the first shot.
  16. The Solara, Cayenne and Okuma are still looking for homes. The Cayenne is a small-profile reel. The scent holders are still looking for love as well. I'll be posting more items in a different thread.
  17. Since I've not cast it, I can't say if it's perfect or not. However, I've had good experiences with Okuma reels in the past. If you stop in Clinton, it's $8 less... Well...I did a bit of looking in my stash, and I have some left-hand reels. None are inexpensive, however. I have a couple of round Abu (5601 and 4601), a Shimano something, a small Calcutta and a couple of Abu Morrums plus two that are collectible (like an Abu 2501 from the Japanese market). If you're interested in any of those, shoot me a PM.
  18. There are no pliers on offer, so Wrench won't grab 'em immediately. However, in my efforts to reclaim my basement, I have some things to offer. The USA (Underwater Suspension Apparutus--blame them for the name, not me) are pretty cool if you want to take these beasts and use them correctly. These holders, for lack of a better term, slide on the main line and give you the place to add things like scent (think chunks of shad or chicken livers or the little scent tablets that come with the kit) or light sticks. I don't see these becoming a must have for bass fishermen, but they should be hot stuff for catfish or if you troll for hybrids or whites. There are 25 or so holders in four different sizes, a package of three-inch light sticks five packs of two-inch light sticks. Included in the Plano box are 10 or so packs of the scent tablets. $15 TYD or pick up in Clinton. Okuma's Red Isis reel is a freshwater version of the tough-as-nails saltwater series by the same name. This reel is no longer made, which is too bad for those folks who chase tough fish. While it is spooled with line and has a few small scratches from being moved, it is unused. $30 TYD or pick up in Clinton. This Pflueger Solara is used and shows a minor bit of wear, but it is spooled with what looks like 20-pound braid. $15 TYD. And finally, this unused Okuma Cayenne is a neat, small reel that requires an educated or educatable thumb. It is spooled with 10-pound fluoro and is unused. $15 TYD. The
  19. What he said. Our lake place is waaaay too close, so we limit ourselves to only one trip a year. The food is really good...
  20. Sold. I'm too old for Venmo... I'll PM my address. Anything else you're looking for? Anything glycolic related?
  21. First up is an unused Great White bow mount. I say "unused", and by that, I mean it has never been in the water or even run. It was used as a photo prop in a project boat that I put together for a Bass & Walleye Boats' article. While it's not been used, it has moved twice, without a box or case, so it has some scrapes and scratches and some dust. This is a 12-volt motor, and it is hand-controlled (there's no foot pedal). However, it comes with a Big Foot and an inline on-off switch. I'd like $100 with pick up in Clinton or Warsaw. Next up is a pair of long-nose, "finesse" needle nose pliers by Mustad. Again, they've never been out of the sheath. There is a lanyard and belt clip. $18 TYD or $10 in Clinton. And speaking of pliers, I just was if you were paying attention, I have a pair of unused P-Line aluminum pliers with replaceable cutters and sheath. $20 TYD or $12 in Clinton. Unused Frabill folding Bearclaw kayak net $15 in Clinton. I can't guess what shipping would be, but it's probably over $15. A NIB Penn WarFare line counter (WAR15LWLC) is untouched and $75 TYD. Guess that will do for today's postings. I have a fair collection of reels that need new homes as well as a depth finder or two, and plenty of decent rods. However, shipping those is expensive.
  22. The skiff is rated for a 40...but I'm guessing it would handle very well with a 25. About the only thing it needs is a bow cap of some kind to mount a trolling motor.
  23. I've looked at the Hog Island boats at ICAST and drooled. The skiff would be perfect, except for the price.
  24. I use mono backing as well; not only is it less expensive, but it keeps that slippery braid from slipping on the spool. Newer spinning reels have dealt with that issue-- making it possible to use all braid--but older ones haven't.
