  1. What are those books for? They don't look like the kind that have many pictures.
  2. Nice hat Ham.
  3. 85 pound blue from the Missouri River. On a throw line. Several spoonbill close to that.
  4. Its weird how a person who seems to otherwise be a pretty admirable guy (fostered something like 51 kids over the years!) winds up taking such a radical position as what he did.
  5. I try to float all the popular rivers on weekdays. Agree on when its best - spring being my preference.
  6. http://forums.ozarkanglers.com/topic/49393-may-20-21-and-22-on-the-river/ I love NFOW and Current River. They are beautiful Ozarks rivers and fish very well. But to me, the crown jewel is the Eleven Point. Its just not to be missed. It is best fished from a boat.
  7. Without trying to be too much of a smart aleck, I'm grateful that so far, only one of those yahoos felt like dying to prove his point. I sincerely hope he's the only one and the rest of those guys go to jail peacefully. But should they choose otherwise, I'm also grateful that the FBI has a bunch of guys who are really good shots.
  8. I was a BPS Saturday. Bought Nano, Invisx and Maxima to give me something to do one of these warm days heading our way.
  9. The opening battle and the bear mauling scene were both really something. The movie was very well made but I do not think it was a very good depiction of how the early trappers lived. Nobody would have lived through the wet cold that was nearly constant in that movie. For me that part was actually a bit of a spoiler in that it kept me from suspending disbelief - one of the critical aspects to really getting into a story.

You're trying to get in somebody's panties. I bet it worked.
  11. Check your electric bill for the answer to that one.

    What's Cooking?

Chicken Cacciatore: 3 boneless chicken breasts sliced lengthwise into thirds, seasoned, dredged in flour and browned in EVOO in the dutch, then set aside. One bell pepper and one Vidalia sliced into rings and melted in the dutch. Tablespoon of Italian seasoning. Salt and pepper to taste. Cup of good pinot grigio to deglaze and then reduced by half. One can of diced tomatoes (not drained), about two tablespoons of capers and a dozen or so kalamata olives sliced coarse. Five cloves of garlic run through the slicer side of the press. Chicken back on top of that mess, lid on the dutch and into the oven for an hour or so at 300. I'll serve it on angel hair with a romaine and spinach salad. The salad will include some more kalamatas, cherub tomatoes sliced in half, and slices of English cucumber (way better this time of the year than regular cukes).
  13. Crackpot
  14. I'm not joking about why I like Nano and FC, those guys are both amazing. Very fortunate to be able to learn from them now and again.
  15. Now those yahoos are messing with Paiute artifacts. Somebody please arrest them and cart them to jail. One or two at a time when they come to town if nothing else.
  16. I like Nanofil because Ham tells me to. I like FC because Dave tells me to. I like Maxima because I've used it since Heck was a Pup. I hate Nanofil because leader. I hate FC because knots. Sorry, I'm a klutz and am knot impaired. I've tried to hate Maxima but just can't. I use them all now and then.

Well then, shut the front door.
  20. I do think what happened to the two ranchers seems like double jeopardy to me. Tried once, convicted and sent to jail. Now years later, tried again and sent to jail again, for the same crimes. Not right in my book. If a judge screwed up, go after him, not these guys. So there is that to consider. But now its gone far beyond what started this in the first place, and is headed to how does it end?
  21. We need a "you're nucking futs" button.
  22. Had Cliven Bundy been dealt with properly when he was having his temper fit this would have never happened. I learned that lesson from my kids.
  23. Well for one thing they have been tearing down fences. Last time I looked, destroying federal property was considered breaking the law.
