  1. That's not what anyone is talking about. lol.
  2. Justin, you are on the wrong board for this one. We're well and truly screwed for life as we know it in the long run. Who knows how it will turn out but there is no doubt it will be a lot different than it is now.
  3. Mom is 93. She don't care.
  4. Good thing it wasn't my mom or the verbal whoopin would have gone the other way.
  5. So. How do you tell the difference? Before the time comes I mean.
  6. One other option is to buy in a nice developed area with good neighbors. Which is what I did. If you are going to buy raw land and want privacy, buy a buffer too.
  7. It's not going to be the popular position but you are correct sir. Even if Ed has a tattoo.
  8. Is this an example or a theoretical?
  9. Oh, now you've done it. You better watch your back. My forgetter was working pretty good but you had to go and get the rememberer going again.
  10. I recently took a float trip on the Snake River in Wyoming. The State of Missouri could learn a lot from the State of Wyoming on how to deal with outfitters and their customers on popular rivers. Suffice to say it is not an unregulated free for all in Wyoming. Decent accesses with different areas set aside for outfitters and the general public, bathrooms at accesses and a completely different atmosphere there vs. here. Much more "professional" if that makes sense.
  11. I clean up other people's messes for a living. I also pick up trash when I'm out on the river. One of the things that always goes in the boat with me is one of those cheapie wal-mart laundry bags. It'll hold a lot of beer cans and rinses out in nothing flat. To everyone else who has or does help keep this planet a decent place to enjoy life: Thank you.
  12. Well, since you asked so nice and all.
  13. It's a joke son.
  14. Very nice Al. We recently took a trip to the Wind River area. I am a total rookie at fly fishing but even so I managed to catch a few with the help of the local fly shop. The biggest fish I caught was a 14.5" cut throat in the Double Cabin area. Caught it on a parachute adams after watching it rising in a little side chute of the main flow(s). Later that week I fished the outlet from Brooks lake. It was loaded with some kind of suckers, stocked rainbow lake escapees and a few cutthroats. I hooked and broke off a really nice rainbow, way bigger than the cutt from Double Cabin. There I was fishing some kind of dual purpose dry/wet that a guy who walked up the creek gave me. They were hitting it wet, after the dry drift was over gave it a little twitch to pull it under and let the current swing it. Fish would hit it when it got almost but not quite dead downstream. Never did get a chance to fish the Wind River, it rained twice while we were there, and it came up a couple of feet and was opaque. Didn't see any bears, but did see a big pile of bear crap. Which was plenty for me being a flatlander and all. I like that country. But next time I think I will fly. That's a long drive. I liked it up there.
  15. I can promise you it would not have been me, for a whole list of really good reasons. Number one being I don't put myself in those kind of situations, ever.
  16. This legislature is dominated by Republicans. When's the last time you remember a Republican doing anything you liked? (ducks and runs for cover)
  17. I agree. I do not think this legislature would treat floaters well.
  18. It's been low for a while. Sometimes they just don't bite, even when WE think they should. Keeps you humble.
  19. I can't imagine the spot we were in being devoid of fish. I'd mention where it was but my main fishing buddy would probably then be my main person to watch for trying to sneak up on me to strangle the life out of me.
  20. No way could I ever do what you do for a living. I would have an ulcer or a heart attack or both.
  21. I try to give a fishing report of some sort after nearly every trip. Well this one ain't much. Main fishing buddy and I went to one of our absolute favorite spots yesterday morning. We got there when the sun was just coming up. It had rained/sprinkled enough that the road was wet in several spots on the way down. Thunder rumbled a bit in the distance, but no real threatening weather on us. Fished jig and pig, jig and trailer, spinnerbait, topwater bait, husky jerk, rebel crawdad crank, yum craw and finally a really small tube jig. I caught one small goggle eye and one smallmouth about 8 inches long. My buddy caught one smallmouth about the same size. We covered something like 2 miles of water that has plenty of good strong boulders in it and we normally do pretty well there. We came to the conclusion they just weren't biting. So we swam a little bit, enjoyed the river and went home. Nobody got shot or even yelled at.
  22. The story and this thread both make me want to cry. Good Lord the acrimony.
  23. Awesome Chief.
  24. So. All that stuff about smallmouth omelets I should just write down as some sort of a joke? After I tried to find and duplicate the recipe using spotted bass instead? Not very darn funny if you ask me.
