  1. My doubt came with getting snags longlining flicker shads and not with BB them 30" behind at .5 mph. I have used floating stick baits that dive at most to 3' but not plugs that dive beyond 8'. If you are getting snagged reel some line in or smaller bait. I BB 80% of the time. Get down to .5 mph even spinners with floats snag.
  2. I agree with RM. If you fish TR check with RPS. Besides he is great to fish with and will give you some great recipes to prepare the catch. It's like a double catch
  3. I retired and moved here to fish walleyes and decided on Rogers. I can go up lake or down lake. That way you can follow the fish. Love it here and the folks are great, even F@F and J-Doc. I'll be honest my first choice was Bull Shoals, but my wife told me she needed a little more than a Wal Mart store, so here I am
  4. Way to go F&F. Now I'll want to go after the walleyes instead of stripers Thanks for info.
  5. No Doc, I haven't been out for two months now. I left the north because I did not want to ice fish. I'm a wimp. But I might have to sin and try stripers. Have only fished walleyes since I moved here in '07. I do have a question about releasing stripers. When I was stationed in TN I had a problem with the big ones surviving from the fight. Is that a problem in the cold weather? Have plenty of fish in the freezer just want a little fun if I can catch one or two. I'm looking for my long johns now. I guess first I'll have to troll the site befor I go out trolling for stripers as it will be a new experience for me here. I'll post on we're and what I didn't catch them on ?
  6. Like champ 188 states watch out for trollers.
  7. Don't worry about me. Just bored and I only allow walleyes in my boat unless I accidentally catch a green or brown fish.
  8. Sold Good Xmas for friends wife
  9. It's a 2007. I'm picking it up Thursday to show it so it will be at my house in Rogers. She was not comfortable with people coming to her house and I understand her concerns. Very low hours has not been in the water for two years and from 2009 to 2013 my buddy drove here to fish with me out of my boat twice a wk so he could drive small car because of gas prices.
  10. Helping my friends widow sell his boat, it is excellent and low hours as he fished in mine the last 4 years except for a few times. Because he lives and hour away and cost of gas.

Excellent condition and low hours. $26,900
  12. RB is the area that has given me fits w/ cats. I would not drift but would use my elect motor and work along the islands and all the pts up there. I never fish the flat itself but the side next to deep water, same as pts. Today I caught a lot of catfish there trying to get a walleye. 30 to 35 ft is good. I had one there last wk I could not control and it took me to deep water into the trees. Good luck

I really do not want to report, but I will. Two shorts, 12 catfish and 7 bluegills which I should have keep for bait. BB 20 to 40 feet at numerous places mostly mid-lake but I put 41 miles on the boat. Maybe saw 6-7 boats nice day. I think I had a bad box of crawlers, yes that was the problem.

Good job YAKFM. Hope I can do that good Monday from a boat. I wanted to last Friday but did not make it..
  16. Well what happened, any news. Saw your rig at HLS when I went for gas, but was gone when I drove back. Going out with the queen Friday will report.
  17. Your right no mud on the shoe, wipe up the blood wash the net and wish all could be bare foot. My boat carpet after 14 years good as home. If you didn't read a previous post I clean my crawlers and place them in a use almond container with wet paper towels. Take care of your stuff and it lasts a long time. I know I'm anal.
  18. Nothing wrong with catfish. Went to catfish house last Friday. Just don't want to catch them since I don't know how to prepare them. They also roll in your line and leave slim on it, slim in a the net and in the boat. If not big I never use a net and never let them in the boat.
  19. 76 to 77 doc
  20. Better day today. 3 walleyes one 171/2, one 19, and one 211/2. Catfish were all over. Caught 18 to 20. One fish I hooked peeled have my line off the reel. I could not stop him had to follow in the boat. It went into 70" of water right into the trees. Anyway 15 min of fun. I think it was just a very big cat. Also caught a 3 to 4 pound LM. All caught in 34 to 36 ft of water, BB with crawlers, gold spinners going .8 to 1.2 mph

  22. I wash them in distilled water. We get in the tub together, after the bath I place them in wet paper towels. The next day I change the wet towels to new ones. Why, I have tan carpet in a boat that is almost 15 years old with tan carpet still. I then place them in a large almond nut plastic jar into a six pack cooler with ice packs on each side. Lasts all day with no mess. Even worm bedding is a mess. Some fishermen place them by the dozen in plastic bags filled with water in the cooler. They will puff up in the cold water. Worm pop is messy. I even made RPS get into slippers when he got into the boat.
  23. I got something out of it today. He left a spinner in the bait cooler and he's not getting it back.
  24. Today I fished with RPS. He drove hundreds of miles to take some walleye home. 7 + hours of fishing and not one walleye only a few catfish. We also did not mark a lot of fish but when we did no bite. But it was a fun day fishing with RPS hope to do it again soon. We did catch each other a couple of time on my sharp turns, that was about the only excitement in the boat. BB from 25 to 35+ water.
  25. Tan to brown
