I put I at Bridgeport today, water color is good around pt15 & above. Real clear up Flat Creek. Clear down to Virgin Bluff

I use it whenever I go there, never a problem. Usually put a few $$'s in box. Be interested to know lake ice situation as I'll probably go nxt week. Thanks in advance. Good luck...

According to local weather forecast, another 6-9" by this weekend. Bummer.

Fishing a week ago, motor threw craps on me, so while the good folks at Tri Lakes Marine rebuild motor, I didn't want to waste prime crappie fishing time. Put kayak in at ramp near Bear Den around daylight & fished until about noon, when wind became an issue. Caught 8 keepers, biggest being 13" and many shorts. Most were caught around standing timber in about 25 fow & fish about 8 to 10 feet deep. Only caught one on bank. Fished scattered. Used 32nd oz charturse jig. Sure missed my electronics for depth & fish. Used the 25' length of anchor rope to judge depth. All in all, great day to be on water..

I always stop and study the fish in this tank, noting how they suspend on the structure and brush. I use this as a real life classroom. Very cool tank.

How stained is the water. I see the lake has come up about a foot

It's tough to work that two pound jig on four pound test line & light pole. lol, math was never my strong suit.....

Fished between Bridgeport & Virgen Bluff, worked both banks. Caught limit which included 4-13", 4-12", remainder were mostly 11.5. Used 32oz maribou charturse jig. Most were at 8 - 10ft n 15 - 25 fow. Probably my best day for a limit of heavy fish. Tried to upload photos, but wouldn't load from photo library. I'll have to work on this.

Tks 4 report. Drove to Blunks to ck it out a couple of weeks ago after eating at Flat Creek, water was really low. Guess i need to come back & fish it.

James River at Point 15 on Fri was 47 - 48 in most places

I saw this last week when I was in Cape Fair. Drove to top of Cardinal Hill & Flat Creek is just the river channel. Haven't seen that since I moved here in 1979 & TR got about 12 below pool, Flat Creek was only about 15' wide during white bass run.

Got on water about 8am, some rain but not much. Caught limit throwing 32oz charturse jig. Worked standing timber, throw & count to 8 or 10 b4 starting slow retrieve. Watch for twitch in line.

What part of lake did these slabs come from. Great pics, thanks for sharing and when you catch slabs like these, you tend to stay warmer.

Females still holding eggs high in the chest cavity, very little blood in eggs. Water temps were 62-64.

Got on water about 7:30 & fished until 4. Wind was brutal after about 11am. Did manage to catch 12 keepers, with 6 between 12.5 & 13 inches. Worked the cuts in high banks, using 1/32 oz charturse jig with white tail. Caught most fish in 2 to 6 fow. Other than wind, great day on the water.

I've been catching them in 15fow with a lot of hits about 6fow. Not too many on the banks.

I've had good luck on several trips fishing the Point 15 area, however no luck up Flat Creek. Crappie have been heavy, even short fish. Must have fed well over the winter. I used to do well on Flat Creek, but no so this year.
