  1. I suspect he's a goner, and good riddance. He's in trouble again and I would imagine that if the Chiefs can get away from him without spending millions they will. Charles is running behind the same line and doing a lot better. Granted Charles isn't seeing they ball as often, but there is still a bigger difference than I would expect. I don't know where Battle is, but I always thought he had potential also.
  2. I've been to St Louis U.and I'm being evaluated for one. I'm leaning that way if the evaluation is positive, but I can't help but have some reservations. I'm in remission from Multiple Myeloma. I also have CLL, but it hasn't really become a problem in the 8 years since I was diagnosed with it.
  3. A program vehicle is one that has been leased. The good side of that is that they must follow the maintenance schedule religiously. The last 2 we have purchased were priced at around 70% of new cost and both had 15K or less miles. They don't all follow this mileage, but many do and everyone I've talked to was happy with the deal. You would probably have to call around to find to find what you want, but it would be worth checking into.
  4. Silicone would give you some colors not available in bucktail. It would be another option. I tie some of my jigs with both, silicone over a bucktail base.
  5. What did you think about the stem cell transplants? Were they for a blood cancer?
  6. That's great. In my last disaster, the big Taney County hail storm, I had State Farm and American Family and both did a good job by me. I was especially pleased with American Family which had my house. No I have no affiliation with any insurance company. Don't overlook a Program Vehicle, we've had great luck with them.
  7. I would head to the Boundary Waters. If you want a river and a remote setting, than the John day in Oregon
  8. That's very interesting. I know what you're going through, I'm in remission on number 4.
  9. We always used high brass 6's.
  10. While there is no doubt that unused meds should be disposed of properly, and flushing them will put them in the water supply. I do have a problem understanding how they could build up enough to be detectable in a lake the size of TR or a river with the flow of the James. The theory that they are being flushed seems far fetched, unless its coming from the DNR, then we know its a coverup. That's a lot of expensive drugs being thrown out, and most, unlike antibiotics, would be usable in the future. Even the thought that someone overbought Viagra in a weak moment probably wouldn't produce enough to share through the water system.
  11. I'm not sure where you are from the Little Pomme, but it used to get a good run of whites in the spring, before Truman. The old highway that went to Fairfield, from the east, might be worth a look, that area doesn't get hit real hard by the wind.
  12. I thought it would be a gimme Al, it is hard to forget. We obviously stopped at the same place.
  13. Here's a tough one.
  14. It could certainly pass for Beaver Creek. The biggest problem is that it also would fit the upper parts of some bigger rivers and creeks, the Niangua, Bryant, Osage Fork and the Pomme.
  15. I know nothing about organic chemistry, but if everything is reduced to the fundamental elements, how do they identify Viagra and many other drugs in our water?
  16. Sorry to hear that, but its good that you were not seriously hurt.
  17. The large number of meds ending up in our waters is a relatively new thing and I'm afraid to think about the long range consequences.
  18. I don't know what you have available there, but here it grows in the bottoms.
  19. No, unfortunatly. The restriction is for HP and I don't believe I've even seen any No Wake buoys.
  20. I had to look at a map, I had forgotten what that access was called. I haven't been there in some years, but there weren't many trees if I remember right. It would be alright for a 12 footer though. The lake is up and if I remember right that area is pretty flat, so the lake is probably spread out some there.
  21. If the weatherman is right it will get flushed out at the end of this week. I think the bigger fish tend to be where the aluminum hatch covers the water, once the cold flushes them out one can actually fish for them. That is if the giggers don't get them.
  22. Wouldn't an increase in trophy size fish be related to food supply? I realize that TR is a big lake, but if the food sources didn't enjoy an above average increase, couldn't there be a downsizing of the average? Obviously the small fish they are talking about won't eat enough to make a difference, but what about when they start hitting 3-4 lb's?
  23. I wish I could have used an Ambassador, but it was Bronson's, Ted Williams and Langley's. My favorite was a Langley Tournament model, it didn't have a level wind, and that allowed it to cast farther and more accurately. I got my first Ambassador in the mid 60's, and I still have it.
  24. I'm about like the bottom picture. I cast right handed and crank right handed. This is natural to me because that's the way I started when there was no choice. I crank a spinning reel left handed, but I had a choice for them. I still prefer a baitcaster when ever it will work for me, another conditioning from my youth.
  25. Some blue and orange, a shad, and a bright white with a dusty back.
