    What's Cooking?

Sounds like we need a Pizza cook off. I'm in for the challenge.
  2. Wow, nice fish.
  3. These are brutal to see while at work... I just got a new Ocean Kayak Prowler 13, bought it about the same time my wife and I had our 3rd baby 2 months ago (i.e. - I haven't used it at all yet.) I'm thinking when I get woken up at 4-5 am on Friday maybe i'll just head to the Meramec, instead of trying to fall back to sleep (which won't happen anyway)
  4. Took my two daughters out today for a little bit at a local shopping center pond. They caught a bunch on the ned, dad got a nice one on a jerkbait. Fished there before for a kids event they held at the shopping center, but as we were walking back to the car dad saw the "No Fishing" sign. whoops.

    What's Cooking?

    SWEET
  6. I use a 7' ML for a lot of my crankbait fishing - Wiggle Warts, 3xds, any medum to deep diving cranks.
  7. I kinda feel like most people looking like this while fishing were dorks... HA!

    lets go blues

Pietro's choke job on the short handed 2 on 1 was tough to swallow.
  9. You mean the stuff from the toilet?

    lets go blues

I think a lot of the goal disparity is due to: 1. Penalties (for and against 2. Injury ppo - power play opportunities, ppoa - ppo allowed Team PPO PPOA Man Games Lost St. Louis Blues 206 250 249 Dallas Stars 226 214 131 Chicago Blackhawks 221 202 94 Its hard to score a lot of goals when your constantly killing penalties and filling in with whoever is healthy. (Paajarvi on the top line? Remember that?) Blues have yet to really have their full team on the ice this year, and have played more time on the pk than the other two contenders in the division and they're still right there with them . Since Jan 1 they have been the better team. Dallas has a terrible D that has been bailed out by their offense, and I think that will show in the playoffs. Chicago is disciplined, healthy, and can score. I think they are the more dangerous team.

    What's Cooking?

I've got some corned beef in the slow cooker, will boil the cabbage and potatoes in the juice when I get home from work.

I'm ready my man. I think we have a chance to do pretty well. Scoring has been getting better. We'll need that in the playoffs. We'll also have to stop taking so many d@mn penalties though. That's been killing us all season. Getting Steen back and putting him in with Backes/Berglund should be good too. I think that is the biggest hole on the team currently - Jaskin/Paajarvi in that 9th forward spot. They are just not at the level of skill needed there.
  13. Heard it was a spinnerbait, and released after some pics.
  14. I feel like your putting a lot of work in something that motor is just not designed for... Why not just get a cheap jon/square stern canoe and solve all the problems.

    What's Cooking?

Seafood night... Shrimp seared in the cast iron skillet - (garlic, salt, pepper, cayenne) Cod with Shallot Lemon Butter
  17. I'd try out some Thomas Buoyant Spoons instead of powerbait personally. Straight or a lift and drop retrieve. Easy way to at least find some active/eater sized trout.
  18. Ditto. Specks and Reds and even Snook are very similar to Bass fishing. Topwaters, Jerkbaits, Spinnerbaits, Swimbaits. I think I'm headed down with the family to Marco Island in June, can't wait to chase some reds and snook.
  19. I just use http://www.weather.gov/ - all of the info I need, pretty reliable, no fluff.
  20. Weather drives ratings for the local newscasts, so they hype up the weather as much as they can to get people to tune in. More Hype = More Viewers = More money in KMOV, KSDK, etc pockets.
  21. These are some pretty cool underwater videos....
  22. Sold
  23. A Spinnerbait is pretty good from the bank with regards to hang ups and covering water. Crankbaits like a square bill can be ok, you just can't be as daring with your casts. A Texas rigged worm is also a good option from the bank as a lure that won't get hung up easily, but I usually work that pretty slow. Not your typical "covering water" speed.
  24. What hooks are you using now? What baits are you using? Line size? I think key take aways are: 1. Can't FIsh it too slow 2. Try not to feel the bite, wait til you see the line jump or move. 3. I think the best line is about a 6lb test mono or fluoro 4. Don't use a hook that is too big. It kill the action - I usually use a size 2 and a 1/16 oz head. 5. Elaztech baits are huge. They can last forever. Saves you money and time spent rigging if you are using regulat plastic baits. Also, I think they have better action than standard plastic. That about covers it on my end. I'm sure others will chime in on wat they like/use
