Thanks for the info everyone. I will probably just trailer it for the weekend. The only time that is a problem is if there is a tourney out of there and the parking and ramp get a little stressful. My son navigated the parking lot and ramp last year during a tourney and did a fine job but my wife gets extremely stressed.

Is the crime that bad on Table Rock? I have never rented a slip till this weekend on LOZ and realized how handy it is to have the boat on the water. I was never concerned about my stuff but I was staying at Windermere and the only other people in the slips were two church fishing tournaments. If it is that bad down there I will just keep it at the campsite.

I need to call them. I looked online and they don't show daily rentals, only annual. I will call and see what they say. Thanks for the reply.

I've seen those boards and such across docks before and like you said, I assumed it was to keep the fishermen out. I have taught my kids and those that fish with me to respect the dock owner. The water belongs to everyone but the dock belongs to the owner. I see people get out on docks all the time and it always bothered my kids that I wouldn't let them. I always said if we want the dock owners to respect our right to fish we had to respect their dock. Only time I would ever get out on a dock is to retrieve a jig if it is in a spot where it might stick in someones foot. I hope to own a dock up there some day. Sorry to hear about your prop, I'm sure that is frustrating.

My family is camping at Mill Creek campground in June. Looking to rent a slip to keep my boat in for a few days. Can't seem to find one on the internet, does anyone know of slip rentals fairly close to Mill Creek campground? Thanks in advance.

That does sound pretty scary for a couple teenagers. My little 19' fish and ski felt pretty small out there too. At times when I was trolling and fishing I felt like I was climbing waves like the Deadliest Catch crab fishers.

My wife and I camped at Windermere for the weekend. Fished Friday pm, Saturday am and pm then Sunday pm. Caught a total of 30 all weekend. The females we caught were good quality and size just few and far between. Motored up to Linn Creek stopping at coves and docks. Caught several at one dock that showed 58 fow. Cast in, let it sink and reel back slow. The eggs in the females were loose and bloody so hopefully the spawn is coming. Caught very few on the bank, mostly around docks and brush. Couple of oh crap moments this weekend. First, broke the tip of a brand new Lew's Wally Marshall about the fourth cast. Cut my fingers on my fillet knife (sharper than I thought). The biggest oh crap moment of the weekend was on Saturday. Motored up to Linn Creek Saturday morning and headed back about 1 pm. Those big cigar boats scared the crap out of me. I could hear em coming but couldn't locate them till they were right on me. Learned my lesson, no more big water in the afternoon on a weekend. Those guys are crazy!

Hopefully I will have a good report. My wife and I are takin the camper to Windermere Friday thru Sunday. Hopin to catch some fish and enjoy the weekend.

I'm with you Old Plug. I have used the Excel for years and last week I tried something new. My boss uses the P-Line copolymer so I thought I would give it a try. It is great for the fact it has no memory and no twist but it is way to soft. I used 4 pound for crappie and it is so soft that on the smaller reels it won't stay tight on the spool. If there is a little bit of wind it just bird cages. I will probably reload with the Excel for my fishing this weekend. That is tough stuff at a good price.

I love white bass fishing in the fall. I have never targeted them in the spring. Last fall the weather kinda messed me up and the fall before that it was my back. I have always had good luck with them up around Roach and Shawnee Bend. I have heard of guys catching them feeding and it sounds like a lot of fun but I have never experienced it. Pound for pound there is no other fish that is more fun to catch than a white or hybrid. It is fun to take people who have never caught one. Hope this fishery improves or at least maintains.

Sounds like fun. My wife and I might take a few jugs up this weekend and give it a try. Not real good with electronics but I will see if I can find them.

97procraft, is the jug fishing pretty good there this time of year. I made up a bunch of jugs last year and never used them. Would really like to give it a try. Did you free float them or anchor?

I have talked to guys that fished Stockton and Table Rock and got the same reports. Guess the weather must of messed with em. Going Friday and Saturday, taking my wife. Hope it is better by then. Lots of fish make momma happy!

Thanks for the info rangerman. I replied to your post but it must not have posted. I usualy do fish PB 2 or Shawnee Bend this time of year but the Niangua arm has been good to me this year till yesterday. I have never trolled for fish but it looks like fun so I need to try it sometime.

I don't know how it went for everyone else yesterday but for me it was tough. Hit the water about 9:30 and fished till 4:30. With two of us in the boat we came home with 24. All came off brush piles around docks and the bite was mostly light. I was mostly throwing a smoked purple Bass Pro grub and my buddy was throwing the Kalins Wally World with 1/16 jig heads. Lots of boats out but lots of nice people. I tried places yesterday that I had never fished before, even fished the bluffs. Did catch one small male right on the bank in the back of a cove. My boss talked me into trying the P Line on my reels. I like the fact that it has no memory and no twist but it seemed really brittle to me. I usually use Tourney XL from BP. Also broke the tip off one of my poles. Now I have an excuse to buy a new one. Taking my wife next Friday and Saturday. Thinking about going up to Shawnee Bend or PB 2 instead of Roach. Any advice on that? I really need to put her on some fish cause she only gets to go a couple times in the spring.

Nice catch. I need to make a bragging board like that. I take people fishing all the time and always try to get a picture of their catch for them. Something like that would be much easier.

Thinking about putting in up at Shawnee Bend next Thursday or Friday. Any reports from that part of the lake?

4/12 Mid Lake And Niangua Arm Crappie
stuartsx5 replied to Goggle-Eyed's topic in Lake of the Ozarks
Good job. I picked up most of mine around the docks at the mouth of Windermere cove. This was new to me cause I have never had much luck around the docks, think I get in too much of a hurry. I agree on the parking at Larry Gale. They went in and expanded that lot and sometimes you can't park many more in there than you could before because of people taking up two spots. Think I am going to hit Shawnee Bend next week. -
We used crappie nibbles. I think it made all the difference Monday and Tuesday but Friday was a bust. I bought mine at Bass Pro cause I needed some other stuff. I realized later I could get them $2 cheaper at WalMart. Think I will try again next week, the spawn has got to be close.

I have a "new" to me Eagle on the front of my boat. Haven't quite figured it out yet. It gives me a lot more info than I am used to and I am having a hard time figuring out what it all means. I'll get it one of these days, may have to have my 17 year old son read the manual and interpret it for me.

Looks like you did better than I did on the Niangua. I fish out of PB2 a lot but we were in a hurry Monday and Roach is closer to home. We did so good there Monday we went back Tuesday and did even better so went back there today. The crappie had a bad case of lockjaw. It is great to take a day off to take your dad fishing. That is a nice looking mess of fish.

Any day fishing is better than any day at work. Sounds like we got there at just the wrong time, about 10:30. It was nice but we were cooking in the sun so we took out around 4. The sun screen we had must of been too old to work. Met a lot of boats on the road to the ramp. Hope they did better on the evening bite. I will try again late next week. Work tends to get in the way of my fishing time.

Put in at Larry Gale, thought it was going to be a good day after the days we had Monday and Tuesday. Today was a great day to fish but someone forgot to tell the fish. One of the few times I get to take my son fishing and we didn't fare too well. Three of us in the boat and we came home with 14 keepers. We didn't even catch many shorts. We tried all my hotspots to no avail. We threw everything we had in the boat and was able to pick a few up here and there then move on, mostly on the docks at the mouth of Windermere cove. The lake was very busy today with lots of boats moving around so I assume most people had a similar day. I caught most of mine on a blue and black jig with yellow tail and my brother and son caught most on a Tennessee bleeding shad. For the first time I can remember I was outfished in my own boat. My brother caught 6 and I only caught 5 with my son bringing in 3. Hope someone had a better day. We did get some pictures though.

Is anyone distributing them around the Marshfield/Springfield/Camdenton area? I would be happy to distribute them around the Marshfield area but I only know of one other member. If someone is already doing this let me know so I can get one. I love this website and I read it every day. When I can't go fishing it is good to at least read about someone else catching them. Maybe one of these days I can give someone advice like so many have done for me.

Thanks. It was a fun day. Went back today and did a little better but the wind was a killer. You are very right 96 Champ, the colors we caught em on yesterday isn't the colors we caught em on today. Yesterday we caught em on dark bodies with clear tails and today it was chartruse and orange body with a green tail. One thing is for sure, the next week should be getting really good. Good luck to everybody, it is a great time to be on the water.
