Forgot to mention if you go to the Uncompahgre, go to Ridgeway park and enter at Pa-Co-Chu-Puk entrance. Really nice streach of water and C &R.

2 suggestions.. 1. The Uncompahgre tailwater. Well worth the trip over the million dollar highway. 2. The San Juan tailwater in north New Mexico. Get some really small midges and 7x tippet.
  4. Great pics.. BTW what was in the wine glass?
  5. Looks like a great trip and quite an adventure. Did you get to do any dove or duck hunting?
  6. Well if it doesn't make it, it sure will make a nice mount.
  7. Nice looking browns. Congrats
  8. Thanks for the great report. That brown has some pretty colors. Taneycomo is the only tailwater I haven't fished up there. I need to get over your way some day.
  9. I am guessing the restrictions for the 11 Point and upper Current come from the US Forrest Service since I couldn't find anything on the MDC site. Anyone know how they rate the horsepower, especially for older outboards with aftermarket jet drives installed?
  10. Thanks guys. The cutthroat was my biggest to date.

    Wade Trip

Walk in access to the 11 Point is pretty limited. Much better to rent a canoe from Brian Sloss in Alton.
  12. Spent the last 3 weeks at our house in north Arkansas. Weather was pretty cold with a few mornings in single digits. Fished the Spring, Norfork, White and Eleven Point rivers. Overall the fishing was good with high numbers of trout, no trophies but some decent trout. Rivers were low and clear so there were lots of sight casting opportunities. A few pictures... 1. 11 Point rainbow 2. Spring river bow 3. Another Spring river bow 4. Norfork cut 5, Norfork brookie 6, Spring river brown
  13. Looks like fun. Nice trout.
  14. Hate those coyotes. Glad she made it. Sounds like a great day all around.
  15. That's great! She will always remember that.
  16. Pretty colors on those fish.
  17. We spent the month of October at our house in Cherokee Village. We fished the Spring, Norfork, White and Eleven Point rivers. Fishing was great with good numbers of decent sized trout but no real monsters. Weather was perfect and the fall colors were beautiful when we left. Hot flies were the usual; midges and scuds on the Norfork and White and eggs and woolly buggers on the Spring and Eleven Point. We didn't get to fish the Norfork as much as we would have liked due to many days of 1/2 unit releases due to some work going on at the dam. Here's a few random pictures... 1 Norfork brown 2 Eleven Point rainbow 3 White river rainbow 4 Couple of deer munching on watercress in the 11 Point 5 Spring river rainbow
  18. It goes from the dam down to the wing dam just above the state park boat dock Rim Shoals and Wildcat shoals are good wading when the water is down.
  19. A wading staff and cleated felt soled boots will really help you get around safely. Also don't know if you are aware that the c&r area below the dam closes to fishing starting tomorrow thru Jan 31 for the brown trout spawn. Have fun and watch the generation schedules.
  20. Thanks for the update Tyler. Any idea when the work will be finished?
  21. Zebra midges, Sunday special scuds and egg patterns will work on both the White and Norfork. That's about all I use.
  22. I haven't seen minimum flow on either the White or Norfork in the last 3 weeks (at least during daylight hours). They are running a minimum of 35mw on the White and 18 on the Norfork. That's just enough to mess up wade fishing. When they actually run minimum flow the fly fishing is great.
  23. I pay $35/month at Patrick's. No electric. Very convenient for us as we always camp at Quarry park below Norfork dam.
  24. They are running less than a half unit pretty much all day for the last 2 weeks. Their usual schedule this time of year is minimum flow until mid day and then either 1 or 2 full units. I can't imagine that the current schedule generates more revenue than running 2 full units for 6 hours a day.
  25. I store a small travel trailer at Patrick's storage just outside of Salesville. It's covered but not individual stalls. Never heard of any problems there.
