  1. Seems like a simple solution..... Push the horn button when you increase flow.
  2. Very nice! Congrats on the C&R.
  3. Very limited wading opportunities at Rim Shoals C&R on anything more than minimum flow. I have not fished the C&R below the dam so can't comment on that area. You should be fine with pinched down hooks. No problem with felt soles. The tailwaters already have didymo. Just clean them and dry them out before you go to another river system. I use waders all year on the tailwaters as the water is colder than the spring fed rivers, but I'm an old guy and can't take the cold water like I used to. Hope this helps.
  4. Good report. Glad to hear the river is fishing better. Love those wild rainbows!
  5. Sounds like a great trip Brian. Glad to hear a good report!
  6. That's great it's still out there. Congrats to all involved and hope the guy gets a nice replica mount. May be a state record next time.
  7. My favorite is Davy's white tail midge in black with silver head and ribbing.
  8. Thanks for the info Brian. May give the area around Turners a try.
  9. Fished the area around Greer access today. Caught a few small trout, but didn't see near the normal action for that area. Best fly was a pink egg pattern. I hope the floods haven't hurt the trout population but that's my second trip there in the last 2 weeks and both were tough fishing.
  10. We launched at Greer and went down past the first island and then motored back up to Greer. We waded about 6-7 spots and there just weren't many trout. I guess if we did lose some fish then a visit from the MDC stocking truck may help.
  11. Normally we see lots of trout while drifting down the river. This last trip I didn't see a single trout while drifting. I hope it was just a slow day.
  12. I fished the Eleven Point yesterday and it was slow also. Caught about 1/4 the number of trout that we normally do. I am starting to think we lost a significant number of trout to the floods. Hope I am wrong....
  13. Good to hear this. Thanks
  14. Brian, do you think we lost some trout due to the flood? Hope not...
  15. Sounds like a fun day for sure.
  16. Wow, think I'll pass on that. Too much water in every direction. but I guess it's a good thing for the rivers.
  17. We rented a canoe from Brian at Eleven Point and went from Greer to Turners. Had a great time and caught lots of fish. Really a pretty river and Brian will give you some great advise.
  18. Looks like a fun trip. Is the water level back to normal after all the rain?
  19. Great video. Kudos to the maker.
  20. Looks like a great trip and some pretty scenery. We are going to try a trip on the NFOW on our next trip up there in December.
  21. We also love the Norfork and White, but since we are wade fisherman, it's been a tough year over there. I understand they finally cut back on generation at Bull Shoals earlier this week. Should be some great fishing over there with lots of fat trout. Look forward to fishing over there on our next trip in December. Great thing about this area is there are lots of options. We plan to try the NFOW for the first time on our next trip.
  22. Spent the last 4 weeks at our house in north Arkansas flinging flies after trout. Fishing was good with good numbers of trout most mornings. Both the White and Norfork rivers were running lots of water 24/7 so no wade fishing there. The lakes were being drawn down from the big rains earlier this spring and summer. We spent most of our time on the Spring river and made 3 exploratory trips to the Eleven Point river in southern Missouri. We rented a canoe from Brian Sloss at Eleven Point canoe rentals and put in at Greer and floated to Turner's Mill. We were really impressed with both the fishing and scenery on the Eleven Point. It's quite remote and on an all day float we never saw another fisherman. The fall colors were just reaching their peak when we left. Best flies were eggs, crawfish imitations and the old reliable olive woolly bugger. One thing we did learn is that you need lots of weight and extra long leaders to get the flies down on the Eleven Point. Here's a few pictures..... Caught this toad on the Spring. He weighed 8 3/4 on my hand scale and is my new PB trout. Nicely colored male from the Eleven Point Cutthroat from the Spring Wife fishing the Eleven Point Rainbow from the Spring
  23. What a great fish! Congrats to the young lady.
  24. Nice fish...Looks like your hard work paid off.
  25. Darn it, every time I read one these posts I have to go shopping! Found some of the black/coffee on Ebay and also ordered some olive/brown that looked pretty good for a crawfish imitation. We'll see.....
