Don't let Ham fool ya. The simple truth is he doesn't want to struggle trying to find a sure bite on Bull when those silly slimy trout bite every day. When water temps at Bull hit the mid 60's he'll be there!

I've been off recently and have been able to take advantage of the warmer conditions we've been having. Like others that have been reporting the majority of my success has been on the ned. Catching between 15 - 25 each time with a few nice fish in the 16 - 19 inch range. Lots of fish in the 10 -12 inch size. Without saying too much about location ( no one seems to post about this area๐ค) the water temps in the area I've been seeing have been between 46 - 52 degrees depending on time of day and location. Most of the fish have been in the 5 - 15 foot range. Main point I am trying to offer is that the rock is a large lake and water temps can vary greatly. The ridiculous occurrence I am talking about is what I witnessed at the ramp yesterday. When I pulled up to the dock my boat I saw two guys in the parking lot who had finished taking their boat out of the water loading a net with the fish they had kept. I wasn't sure why but it became apparent shortly. They started back down the bank and proceeded to release the fish into the water. Unfortunately, either due to the stress of being in their well or time they were held out of water they were having difficulty swimming away. So much so that one of them grabbed a stick on the bank and started poking at them ( I guess that is fish CPR ๐). I say this simply to point out if you want to keep fish for the table, then keep them. If you only want to keep fish in your boat is to show off at the ramp then do the right thing and take a picture and release the fish immediately. What's the point of harming/killing fish if you don't plan on keeping them ๐

When does school start??? Its gotta be soon. Cooler weather and less people, hope we can all wait. ๐

C'mon Ham. Those were some good memories. If you remember the water temps were probably in the lower 50's. It would have been a very cold dip if things had gone wrong. Rayburn and Toledo Bend can certainly offer some treacherous conditions but I'm ready to go back anytime. At least we learned the advantage of trailering long distances to be on the "correct" side of the lake depending on wind direction and speed.

This is what happens when you, your dad, and your wife's relatives give you a few props over the years. The larger props shown in the picture from left to right are: a 19" pitch brass prop with a mercury hub I ran on an older model 85hp mercury. asking $75. A black painted stainless steel Yamaha prop (will fit mercury as well) 13 3/8 diameter & 23" pitch, asking $100. A stainless steel Yamaha prop with 21" pitch, asking $80. And another black/stainless steel prop for Yamaha or mercury with 13 3/8 diameter and 23" pitch, asking $120. None are flawless but all are in running condition and would be great for immediate use or as a spare. The smaller props I have limited info on. The black stainless steel prop is a 10 1/2 diameter with 11" pitch and I think it has an Evinrude hub. The others are aluminum and brass and what they fit I don't know. I'm guessing the smaller aluminums are for small hp evinrudes but I have no clue on the brass props. Asking $60 for the stainless steel prop, $20 each for the aluminum and make me an offer on the brass props. Send me a pm, text, or call me at 417-576-6722. If you need a close up picture of any just let me know. Thanks

I hate to be stating the obvious but if you have any concern of someone pulling the pin that locks your hitch to the truck there is a very simple solution. Purchase a hitch pin with a lock. The cost is minimal but the piece of mind is priceless!! Nothing is foolproof when you're dealing with low life jerks but it should make it a little harder for them to ruin a good day of fishing.

All Sold!! Thanks

One left. Thanks again for the responses.

I've got two left. Thanks to all that are looking. The tag I showed with rod details had a bad glare in one area. It says these have ALPS Titanium guides where the glare is. Thanks again.

I figured a couple photos might help determine what these rods offer. The one showing the scale shows 3.8 ounces in case the photo isn't clear enough to see. These are very light rods. Please call or pm with any questions.

I have three brand new (still in the plastic shipping wrap with original paperwork) Okuma C3-40X 7' Med Light rods for sale. Asking $75 each. These retailed over $160 and are currently on the net around $100 or more. Very light and sensitive rods. I am currently using a couple of these for the ned rig and finesse jigs/tubes. Shoot me a pm if you're interested or text/call me at 417-576-6722. I live in Nixa and would prefer to handle the transaction in person with cash only. I might consider shipping but all shipping cost is covered by the buyer. Thanks

Rainbow, I'm sure the name will change but more likely Bass Pro J_M Tour. I don't know his middle initial but I doubt Forrest Wood continues to be acknowledged in the tours name.

I'm sure I'll get jumped on for this comment BUT maybe tournament fishing should be halted during the hot summer months. I know anyone who fishes these wants to think they release unharmed fish but that is almost impossible since your livewells are pumping in water from 2 feet down that is very warm and has far less oxygen. Or at least an altered format like they use in some of the TV fishing shows where fish are weighed immediately and released. Don't worry, I have broad shoulders for those that think I'm crazy.

I would say there has been more fishing pressure on lakes and rivers over the past several years. I catch far more fish that have obvious signs of being hooked recently than I did when I first moved to the Ozarks. I'm guessing the "advertising machine" that encourages people to buy boats and fishing equipment is working its magic. It also seems obvious that not all of the increased pressure is coming from seasoned anglers but rather newcomers to the sport that are just looking for a new hobby. Whether or not this will impact fishing a positive or negative manner will only be determined over time.

Thanks guys, looks like I have a few options. I'll check out the locations mentioned on a map and determine which one is most convenient.

I am heading to Stockton for a few days of fishing next weekend and will be staying several days. Can anyone tell me if there are any fuel stations that offer NON-ETHANOL fuel? I despise putting that crap through an outboard motor and usually go with premium grade to avoid it. We'll be staying near the State Park but will probably make a couple trips to nearby towns and different launches. Thanks

Prop Suggestions For New Legend Alpha 191 W/200 Pro Xs
Cajunangler replied to Cajunangler's topic in Table Rock Lake
I appreciate the comments, and as to whether or not the factory reccommends the best prop or not, who knows? I asked their suggestions but you have to imagine when they test a boat it probably has a light load and not a full load of gear, gas, people, etc. I assumed there would be at least a few guys on here that might have already gone through some of the trials in determining which prop might work best under usual fishing loads and conditions. Most people have become "FURY" advocates, and while I am sure it is a great prop, I doubt it is the best answer for all applications. Sorry if I have taken away from the usual information that is shared on this forum. I only hoped to avoid purchasing the wrong prop since returning them involves additonal time and money. -
Prop Suggestions For New Legend Alpha 191 W/200 Pro Xs
Cajunangler posted a topic in Table Rock Lake
I know this is not the "correct" place but the weather has most of us land locked and I know this forum gets the most views. Anyway, I have a new 2013 Legend Alpha 191 (19 footer) with a 200hp Pro XS that should be complete in May or early June. The factory offered some thoughts but I was hoping someone out there already has this set up and can tell me what they are using. It will be a dual console and will have a fairly solid load of gear all of the time. I don't care if I am the fastest on the water but definitley want a good hole shot and midrange, and I do not want to go over the allowed rpm's on the top end. Any suggestions of pitch and name of prop would be great. Thanks. -
Every toilet in Springfield must have flushed at the same time!! Just kidding!! I've been out of town and the yard here in Nixa doesn't look like a drop hit it. I guess I could break out the hose and sprinklers but I keep hoping mother nature will come to the rescue.
