IDK who referenced physicality? All I said was you wouldnt be such a prick to people in real life...but who knows...maybe you are?
-
we are all so tough online....I guarantee that Mr. Owensby would never talk that way to my or any of your faces. He is probably nice to strangers...but online the muscles get real big.

Lol actually it makes perfect sense...Im sorry for your poor reading comprehension skills, must not have made it past reading. I guess since it doesnt agree with your cowboys and indians point of view you make fun and name call..its 2014 cowboy...we dont just shoot people. I can assure you youve never read hieroglyphs. Also genius..."what a asinine, petulant retort" is not correct or even close...before calling me dumb...check yourself dick.

Your all such sissies and whimps....when the drunks get out of hand I just shoot em dead and go about my fishin....In all reality though, the rivers are being raped every summer and there is very little if anything we can do about it. Unfortunately drunk douche bags have the same rights to the rivers as the fisherman, and since there is not much enforcement with regards to public intoxication (by that I mean none) and those same drunk a**holes are spending their money not much will change moving forward. Just have to learn to deal with them or fish outside of peak yahoo times. In regards to the story...he should be locked up a good long time....face the facts..if you buy property on a heavily partied river, and expect people to treat your shoreline property with respect your an idiot. Like buying a house on LOZ and complaining about too many docks and runabouts. Get real...you know what your getting yourself into having river front property on the meremac. He is a murderer plain and simple.

Cant wait to see those pics and cant wait to get down to stockton!!!

Oh man!! Ill be headed down memorial day weekend I get 4 full fishing days!!! Hipe this bite keeps up!

Bass taste just fine....I always keep a mess of spots when im at table rock....would I rather eat a walleye? Yes of course....but there are lots more 15" spots than there are 18" wallys on that lake. It could be worse...he could have eaten catfish. Harvesting some "legal" bass isnt hurting anything....I (and most everyone else) keep every legal walleye I catch on stockton up to my limit....hence the word limit...you get 4. Dont tell the smallmouth forum (for fear of death threats)...but I think your legally allowed to keep a few of them too.

Oh geez... 1.) Keitech Swing Impact 2.) Yum Dinger 5 inch 3.) Berkely Power craw 3-4 inch (i dont think they make these anymore) 4.) Zoom trick worm 5.) 3-4 inch single tail grub

Ive always just been able to fillet them...although I think with filleting small fish its a trial and error game. I ruined the first few fish ive filleted, but after a bunch youll get the hang of it. You can also gut them, scale them, and cut the head off...thats how I used to eat bluegills when I was younger.
-
Yeah...id expect them to be in the same areas you caught them in yesterday, but move out to the first dropoff...might only be a few feet or could be as much as 10ft. Might be tight lipped but you should be able to get a few.

Went out today on my break, beautiful weather!! No fish to show for it....lake was very clear, with a light breeze. Tried for crappie for half hour, used 1.5inch jigs under a float, 2inch swimmin minnows, and stump jumpers....didnt find any crappie..I assume there are some in there but the pond seems awfully shallow. Switched over to bass....tried wacky worms, power craws, swim baits, and a small black maribou jig...nothing to show for it either. Saw a few small (12-14) fish swimmin around, but no luck. Nice to make a few casts though.

Yeah....if you look hard i think you can see the bluffs at the tip of point 7, eastern part of the lake. Looks like he is at the eastern point at the mouth of schooner, the one that looks like a thumb. That whole area is awesome.
-
Yeah I passed on the BPS ones too cuz they are the same price.....id just assume the keitechs....STLCARDINALSWSCHAMP......they are the havoc beat shad. Although the grass pig looks nice too I didnt pick up any.
-
Thats a heck of a walleye man! Especially for stockton, ive never caught one over 18 there. Id be doing backflips if I pulled one in that big...unless i were fishing a bass tournament...sorry to hear that. Hopefully you found a nice sack (or sac for stockton lol) of green fish!
-
Yeah...its about the time of year when you pull out the dumbest bait youve ever bought just to say you caught something on it.
-
you could probably save money on 65lb braid if you just switched over to nylon rope...or even a small steel chain.

Probably one of the coolest videos ever....my first thought was....wow...he cant hook up on any of those fish to save his life, then i saw in the comments that he cut all the hooks off except for one. Its really cool to see fish chasing a bait in action. I dont know who mentioned it but its true when 1 fish commits then all bets are off. Often times when I troll, ill stick a 2inch nunguesser (sp?) spoon on a 3 way swivel with a leader thats about twice as long as the crankbait leader. The fish see the crank...start to chase it....then they notice that little spoon right on top of their head, double up quite often cuz that first strike starts the feeding frenzy. At least thats my thought process of why it works. Thanks for posting though...super cool!

I would have thought that with all the keitech type swim baits being thrown by the pros that they would have dragged a grub around more. I guess they work the swimbaits shallower than the grubs? Ive worked them both at all levels of the water column interchangeably with good results...albeit not on table rock. On a side note....has anyone tried the berkely havoc knockoff of the swing impact? I picked up a pack cuz they are much cheaper than the keitechs but have yet to use them. The color selection is pretty slim.

Thats it....im going tomorrow on my break.

We were out sunday morning, looking for crappie....my friend lost a small one at the boat, and i caught a small bass. Pretty slow for us....awfully muddy! Cant believe that rain....the lake must have come up at least 10 feet.
-
Did ya have any luck? Ill prolly try for more crappies again saturday or sunday. Another guy fishing told me that the lake has had a hole in the dam and that its leaky causing it to be so low. Ive never seen it that low either, but this was the earliest I have ever been out. I really really hope that it fills back up cuz its a real gem, id hate to see it dry up. Its one of the only lakes at busch that has deep water.
-
I think your right about the flies....ive never seen anyone fly fishing....just hurling huge in-lines. Good luck! With flies that big, id say your going after the big ones in the lake. I hope you catch one!!
-
I think the lake just gets hit hard by traditional bass fisherman who will occasionally get one as a by catch. I am by no means a musky fisherman....but id try to mimic 5-7inch white crappie (white spinnerbait?) by the dam, 7-9inch largemouth (green pumpkin swimbait?) on the upper end, and 3-5inch sunfish. The lake has shad, but i think they are threadfin as the biggest ive seen are 2inchers. Also the lake gets hit pretty hard by bass and musky fisherman alike....so you gotta think outside the box. Those muskys have probably seen every bucktail spinner and giant stick bait ever made.
-
Never tried for muskie....the only muskie i saw in person was caught around mid lake in the main channel, that was in april or may. One of the crappie that we caught saturday had a large wound looking like a gig mark....probably from a muskie. When there is water in the shallow end the mud bottom warms up fairly quickly. Bigger bass (and probably muskie) concentrate at the end of the flat where it dumps into the creek channel. I never bass fish the lower end of the lake, but I catch as many dink bass as I do crappie down there on minnows.....like lake 33, there are some GIANT bass in that lake. On 35 I have caught lots of 3-4lb fish, the one in the picture is a lake 35 bass, id guess 5 maybe 6#. A friend caught a 25inch giant every bit of 7# on the deep side of the first island. I would assume that 3-6inch crappie make up a large % of their diet. Never bass fished 33....but according to the MDC, 66% of bass are 15inches, and a good percentage are 18inches. Every year someone pulls a 7 pound fish out of 33.
