    MItch I am sire you have better sence but do not pay any attention to any of those asvise post I make. I will lie to them and send them on a wild goose chase. I am not a out to broadcast anything worthwile on the forum tht hastovdo with fishing LOZ. HEll I have not been out there  enought anyway this year. 1 full hour is all this season. I jut have  a bad attirude about most of them.  Justgetting more senile.

    I got to go through 8 weeks of radiation treatment begining Monday. Was expected. But I am sure going to be outvwhen I I can through the whole thing.

    I agree 100 percent. Years ago every now and then someone would open fire on a boat. I am shocked that is not going on at a wholesle rate now days on LOZ. for both boats and people. SOme of these boys out here own spiper rifles. I clearly remember that post from last year about some fool amd his partner carrying a side arm while they were fishing.

    That is very true. The best fishing for the really big females is lake May in shallow brush. You might catch them at anytime during the day then.

    Ain't tht the truth. You see wrench they solomly went to church and have been told they have been forgiven. So they are in a hurry to get home and do the things again they had to be forgiven for. The summer people can be worse on O road and anyhere else they can walk ot run riund in their golf carts.

    If someone pulls in front of me close I usually do not care. Most are fihing so fast they will not be catching ny fish and will be gone in a minute or so anyway. If they are determined to fish the bank I am on there is just nothing they hate worse than seeing someone catch fish in back of them. I have also returned the favor by jumping in close in front of them. I agree about some tournament fisherman being arrogant. But arrogance mong fishermen is very common now days anyway. When you live in a society that practices those kind of things as a matter of fact part of life thats what you get.

    MIxermcb...... 25 out of 100. That could be close to it. It is highly variable. If I can find where a bunch is holding and figure out their feeding havits It might be closer to 75% keepers in that one instance as a ratio. Fishing for large bass has a element of hunting to it that appeals to me It also fits my profile better in resent years because of health reasons. When I have had a successful hunt I am more satisfied. Then on the other hand I do spend more blank hours on the water this way. It is also a easy way to skunk yourself. I guess after what is getting close to 70 years fishing I feel like I have been there and done that. So I do this.

    That flicker shad is a dandy little bait for training. I intend to us it to teach my 6 yr old granddaughter to cast and retrieve this coming summer if I am able. Not particular about the color. Want her to learn right off to understand the casting and retrieve before she moves on to more complcated things like plastic worms and jigs.

    I have never tried to catch 100 bass a day in LOZ. I would not be proud of it if I did. Most bass fishermen I know on LOZ would not be either. I am proud though of the 2-3 hour period one evening that I and my neighbor caught 18 keeper 16 to 18 " long. As far as casting and pitching over dock cables that is only one very effective way. And its not just a way it is it is skill. 90 % of the fishermn doing tht on LOZ are not skilled at it, I do not much of the cable pitching and flipping. My fishing days rarely run more than 3 hours. I fish the feeding bite most of the time. With a very limited arsenal of lures. Up here you if say I got 7 today everyone assumes it is keepers. Anything else if we even count them they are considered dinks. My guys up here fish quality. I cannot imagine anyone I know bragging about catching several small bass that do not in total match one keeper.

    I went out biut 2:30 nd caught 3 real fast back in a cove near a channel bank. All of them about 13 inches. All on a baby brush hog. 

    Antime you need anything let me know. I do that stuff becuse i want to. Never want a penny for it.

      Thanks Harry! I can't wait to put em together and one will for sure be tied on for the crappie tournament in 2 weeks!

      I'm glad you were able to get out in the boat for a bit and the fish were a bonus!

      My father-in-law and I fished for Crappie from 3:30 til 7:30 on Saturday. We probably caught 40 in that time with 30 keepers. Most were caught on a black/chartreuse tube jig set 4 ft deep under a cork... Also caught some nice ones on a 1/16 oz roadrunner and Bobby Garlands Baby Shad (Blue Ice and Blue/Chartreuse). The last dock we fished we caught 15 keepers and 10 shorts between 7 and 7:30 pm. All fish were still out from the bank... Some were in 6-8 foot of water and some were in 15-20... But our baits were in that 4-6 ft range.

    I believe it is the low off color doing it. Would not surprise me to see at least one more in the next couple weeks. i had a 9.7 caught very close to me this time of year about 2-3 years ago on a crank bait of some sort. If I get out later this week I might putmy money on a carolina rig for a big one. The bait might just be bright pink or green. Of course that might be misleading. Everybody knows I do not give good tips.

    i think you are referring to the 1/8 oz I mold on a 3/0 hook. Here is the deal I will mold you a dozen but you got to put the split rings and spinner blades on them. i hate that job. And now the left arm is not steady enough for it. Do you wnt to pick them up here are I can bring them over and leave them on the porch at yoir father i n laws.

    I been over 7- 2 times by 1oz. Both on very large plastic worms fished on 1/4 oz slip sinkers over deep brush in the summer. Both down in the dam area. Several yers ago.

    If I am able to get out I will stick with my hair jigs and brush hog or similiar trailers. It is what I like to do and can make several for $5. Wrench. If the wind will give me a break I hope to get out there and see just what I can do right handed this next week.

    Wrong. They are on a schedule. They are currently in the lake clean up phase. They will not start raising the level till sometime in April. They have a very strict schedule they must follow. It is not up to them. It is more or less dictated to them by I believe bybthe Dept of Interior. We may get rain amd the lake will rise but unless it is at the planned stge it will be drawn down to where it is supose to be. Armen is not concerned with what the lake level is believe me. They are clncerned with what contract they signed with the goverment says.

    Wrench I was cauctioning about the flat. It is easy for someone not knowing to stray to far over there. I know the ramps fine now. Truth be told if I has a choice I would use Coffman Beach. There are a couple snags that can surprise you in the area. Just us caution the first mile down.

    iF you want to haul it all the way to Osage Beach and leave it there for awhile one of the best around id called Outback Marine. They do so unbelievable stuff. they have a web site You can see a lot of examples

    Do You trust me here is my resume: Last time I regularly changed diapers they were made of cloth and you had to fold rhem and safety pin them on. While at the same time pinning fingers if not careful Washing out said diapers in toilet and wringing the excess water out of them In looking back I do feel I am overly qualified for the position. Looks so simple and easy now days. SO WHATS THE PROBLEM. Sanp one off then snap another on nothing to it.

    Well we do not want to hear a peep out of you Mr Mitch about any of the following items........midnight diarper changes, 3 am feeding, crying, HONEYse YOU CAN'T , YOUR NOT RUNNING OFF !!!!, Later two apply to you attempting to shirk your daddy duties and go fishing. Cannot figure out myself why you would want to miss any of the fuj anyway.

    Just keep your depth finder on and do not get to far over to the other side of the lake. Monster flat out there.
