It is very easy to get a CCW license. In some towns and counties if your know they just sign off on you. Myself I think carrying it around unconcealed is nothing more than wanting to feel like some gunslinger out of the old west.

Mitch are you saying you want a CCW license to carry. Even with that there are a lot of pitfalls. You do not need one however for home protection. I bought a .38 special just for that purpose because there was few home invasions and attempt around what is known as the lakes west side. Also there is a slow response time in my area from police and Sheriff. After I bought the gun it became clear owning it and managing it for safety might be a little harder than it first appears. The only way you can really do it is to carry the gun on you at all tomes when your at home. If you leave it in a drawer in the bedroom and tour in the kitchen when they invade your never going to get to. Then again if they find it they might us it to shoot you. Then there is the thing about children around. Our .38 is currently in the bedroom locked up in a gun box because I have grandkids. If you choose CCW your sticking your neck way out and you should consult the someone in law enforcement about it. We have 2 or 3.Pepper Spray canisters around here. There is a worldwide police suppliers over there in Fenton that you can Buy them from.

Fishing with a 9mm strapped to his side.????? What you going to do with a gun strapped to tour side. Scare someone throw your weight around by showing you got a gun. You might just get into a alternation then what shoot somebody. If you felt threatened That would not protect you.in the courts. Then again exposing it on your side is going to put you at a disadvantage. If the other guy has his concealed he would nail you before you could get it out.

You were generalizing it. I live in a area where you might consider people like my neighbor a Hoosier. He lives most of the time in a tiny A frame drives a old beat up chevy cary all nearly all of the time. He also owns several guns including a AR 15. He also likes his scotch but is not a drunk. Now to somebody like you that would more then likely qualify him as a Hoosier. But here is a few other things about him. Every now and then then the Seville comes out of the garage. Like recently when he closed on a Property he sold for 3/4 of a million. Usually when he not home he is out traveling places like Europe, Mexico(where he owns a condo) etc. His girlfriend is a hoosier also she grew up on the family farm and is still involved it it. But the family farm is 2500 Ac outfit. There is no such thing as a hoosier in Missouri. But there is a awful lot of country people out here that some people like to classify as dumb witted hoosiers.

rarely touch them summer time or any other time.

There is that word Hoosiers again. I have seen that word applied to everyone is a county person. You might need to redefine that to a loony or something else. Either that are give me your definition of a hoosier.

He had cameras down there also. had it not been for that he would not have been able to keep decent seats in his ski boat. there would. have been large treble books ripped into them by casters. I had a friend here wanted me to go over there at night and destroy his boat dock and all. I guess he never done it. I know the conservation commission went and ordered him to stop. I was told they or someone told him he would take it off or they would remove the dock. He was a Elk in the Laurie Lodge. I never sen him up there. But had I he would have gotten a earfull.

Make A Ml Baitcasting Rod Suggestion
Old plug replied to Rory/MO's topic in General Angling Discussion
If it feels right in your hand then buy it. Thing about rods you just got to live and learn. thats why a lot of old guys like me have closets full of them they do not use. -
I catch them when I fish for them on nothing but spoons. have caught many over ten on spoons. largest 48 lb blue. Very common to catch them on spoons. They are suckers for it under the right conditions.

Then there is. Snook and Yahoo

No its not funny. He was a arrogant bastard. As wealthy as they come. Thee dock was not a good fishing dock anyway. But it was the idae that he thought he was better and did not have to follow the rules. But he lost his battle. I understand he is pushing daisies now. Good improvement to the fishing conditions as far as I am concerned.
-
we had a guy here for awhile that put big sprinkler on his dock and would turn it on when you tried to fish. He got a visit from the conservation officers and that was the end of that. Someone told me also that ARMENS sent him a notice about it.

Any one who gets on here and raves about any thing has either been drinking ,smoking are sniffing something. Either that are they have a mental deportment that makes them unacceptable socially and this is there total outlet. I must tend. to disregard anything like that. I tend to disregard it.

I am a dock owner WARFRAT and I would newer bother you fishing around my dock. If I was you I would just to ahead and fish. THEY ARE I HAVE NO RIGHT TO STOP YOU. I never bother anyone for retrieving a jig or anything else off the dock either. But if they are up there standing around my lockers fishing I worry about it.

I agree people depend to much on that electronic stuff to much. If I did that I would loose my concentration of what I was doing with my all the rest of my fishing stuff. Just two weeks ago I had as many as 4 boats at a time working the 3 docks here that I have brushed. They would do things like moving in to close to the brush pile and fishing right down into it. They were also out there on the middle of the day. Fish are not usually not very active in the middle of the day. There will be times. That weekend certainly was not one of those times. Some would catch a few fish but nothing that great. Only thing I do not like is when they come up and stick the bow of the boat into the same well my boat is in. Some guy 2 weeks ago done that and got caught in a heavy wake and smashed into my prop and tore it up. I also worry about people getting out on the dock. I do not know if they are nice people or thief. Other than that it does not bother me a bit. Hope they have a nice time. But I certainly do not worry about them catching to many of the crappie and ruining my fishing.

Favorite Colors Of Walk The Dog Lures In Clear Water
Old plug replied to drew03cmc's topic in Smallmouth Talk
Wrench I did not say color may not matter. I said it thought it is blown out of proportion. What has always bothered me is that I am aware is that they see a color range beyond our spectrum. So I feel like we do not know exactly what they see. That is why I wish someone would run test on all these fishing lines.I would bet that some might be more visible than what we think. I think that retrieve and sound got a lot more to do with it than the color. I see people on here talking about tiny color variations. I think that is overdoing it. Really it does not really matter to me. I am comfortable using colors that I hope are more natural. -
Side scanning units are not so much the answer. You can see the brush but if your in the wrong place at the wrong doing the wrong thing they will bot help you much.

Unless you have ever owned a cat for awhile do not under estimate there value as a pet. We had one and she could express herself to us. as well as our dog could. We lost both of them last year in a few months. The dog to age and the cat to a cancer. We are going to get more. Maybe a cat only because at our age they are really easy to care for if we ever get over loosing these two.
-
They do that out here every year and it does bot stop them. Too many vars on the lake that stay open till late at hight.

I was reading this morning that there was a witness that was in a float group in front of them and. he seen this guy standing there on the gravel bar looking like he was real upset and angry. It was also brought put that he was 400 ft from his property line when this all happened. If those two thing are factual then it looks like he was looking for trouble.

I would say do not worry about the color. 99% of this color stuff is blown to the heavens. If anything go to something natural if you want to. But its action that get them on the spook thats for sure. Vary your action as well do bot just walk it. I have had bass hit the plug after I paused it then started in it in again. -
you have a good point there Al. Who started it would make a. difference. i was not looking for that.

Some of us do not fish in the brush piles for crappie during the spawn you believe that.
