I never seen any of them. I was up in Herman for a couple days. Spent $130,000 bucks. If they were out in the 7-3 bracket like so many tournaments are I think they missed the slot for the Hog Ma Mas BILL.The bigger bass were on a tear for several days recently and it was not 7am to 3 pm. Since your a old timer from up here bet you can about tell me the slot time.

I believe a lot of the people that push this stuff really believe we're all fools and we can be parted from our money easy.p

I thought you was a pillar of truth and fxts on here Daave. Now I see your as misleading as the rest of us.

J DOC I am wig you 100 %. I hate to see what is going on now days on all our major impoundments, I have sort of been taking a break from fishing myself. Mostly forced by health issues. But I am thinking very strongly about buying a home on a private 12-13 acre lake where boats do roar all over and there will be not any big shots dressed in clown colors running around, You can still catch a lot of nice bass and crappie on LOZ but I am very tight lipped now days about where, when and how because by far the largest proportion of these people do not how to handle fish and could care less about conservation. It is all about being cool and competitive.

Really in the end use what works for you. I used to fish spoons mostly in the fall for feeding white bass and hybrids. While at the same time alway watching the bottom for tell tale signs of big catfish. Catching a 20 to 50 lb catfish on a 10lb test line is one of the great thrills of fresh water fishing. It does not happen often but it is worth the wait.

The Divie jet is a old timer and there are a lot more spoons out there that flutter better. I only used a Dixie jet for bottom bumping a spoon

BILLITHEAD...... I will say this. With no reflection on anyone else. I really believe it should be left up to the individual patient to decide when enough is enough. I will get my last shot of radiation this morning of a series of 37. They were $2500 a shot. My insurance got most it. So that is no financial problem. But for me this is where it ends. I have made it very clear to all concerned I will not go to chemical therapy if needed. I am 76 yrs old and the quality of life is not what it used to be. No fear at all. I would rather leave this memory of me now as I am. Al Agnew's wife is a much younger woman with a lot of living to do. I support their search for a solution. But I understand Wrench's feelings. If I recall his father went thru hell with cancer and to no avail.

That 95% is really a good survival rate believe me.

I see a lot of post on here about size and color of these things but never anything about the retrieve. I bet there might be a bit more to that. I used to fish with a with guy that really was into buzz baits. I learned there was a heck of a lot or to it than just casting and retrieving. Bet the same applies to these ploppers.

I got a 11 yr old 115 MERC 4 stroke built by Yamaha. On a 18ft Targa. I might re mount my 2 down riggers a ddo a lot of that this year. I would suggest you burn very good fuel in there for trolling. The fuel jets and fuel line re very easy to foul up on a 4 stroke. I intend on trolling use E-91 only. Other option is to mix additives like Sea foam into the gas. The added cost make it about as expensive a E-91.

MERC ----- I went through those type years. Bet you could tie your knot blindfolded I Know I could. But nowadays a light would be good for me As age has has dulled my sense of feel. Might even help to have a light with a magnifying glass attached now days

I am sure if I every Bear coming through the eye of my electronic eyed sprinkler would scare would give him a scare he wouod not forget. Like they do everything else. They catch out there a night or any other time

Rarely see anyone using one on LOZ. I beolieve it is better to retrieve your line through your thumb and fore finger. For the most part.

I said 9 not 6 or 8. I do not know the ga or the range it was fired from either. I know what works for me. Have never had to shoot at a bear. But I did if it would be done just as I said I would.

I do not think you understand what a target load is. A 410 target load Is a small load of powder and #9 shot that is very tiny. I been using it on deer butts for years. It would not penetrate a deer or Bears hide at 15 - 20 yards. Half the shot would not even penetrate through the fur. I have shot deer with that load and seen them down the road the next day and you never would know they got their hiney stung the evening before. I bet though if bear got picked up by the eye on my sprinklers it would about scare him half to death like it does deer. It has been my experience. That noise light etc will not stop a deer in and I bet bear either, but if something reaches out and touches them they will they will not come back for awhile.

Dave I been what you call soaking plastics for sure. I have done it with everything especially plastic worms. There only thee things about the line. If it floats or sinks and the dia. As that works into the presentation. My presentation takes into account the line the weighs if any the hook and how the worm sinks in the water according to what and where I will be fishing it.

I tend to agree they cannot be any worse than armadillos and squirrels to property owners. IF I had one coming through that was tearing up things I might give him a dose of 410 ga target load. That is about the worst I would do. I do not think they are aggressive. Might even be able to run one off with my Yard Defender. That is a lawn sprinkler with a movement sensor eye. Does a real good job with keeping the deer away from my Hosta patch. Head rotates fast back and forth and makes a lot of noise doing so.

I have never really fished TR but follow the shade morning and evening works pretty good around here.

WOW A post that is 100% pure concrete information.

I wonder if there is anyone on here who can remember the granddaddy of all single spins. It was called the Hell Diver. Had a blade on it the size of a babies hand.
-
THat is it in general but the way you do those things means a lot. when I say presentation it is everything you do form the minute that lure leaves your rod till you get it back that includes how it sinks how you work it during the retrieve. The presintation is a lot of things you will gain from experience.

I know it is not LOZ. So tell you what Champ. IF and when I ever get this body back into functioning order. Maybe I can come down there and we can go out for a couple hours just you and me and I will use braid and you will use whatever. It would be interesting to see how they compare. We use the same lure and in the same way. OK. Would be interesting to se what would happen. Right now I got a to get myself together. My schedule is for 7 more rad treatments, pre OP for knee and a MRI for shoulder on the 15 of June, then a replacement of the failed replacement on the 19 th. Now about a week after that I will learn if I am in the 80% or 20% group.. If that is all there is then I might get down there in September. For a little testing.
-
I got to wonder about your presentations. ThT to me has always trumped the lure.

That situation is almost unavoidable. That condition with braid is why it gets hooked on dock cables so easy. It is just more abrasive than it feels.
