  1. If you can take the boat traffic fishing is good; really rough out there this afternoon. Did not get on the water until 11, WT 67, fished til 5 with ending WT 70. Started out looking for walleye and could only catch bass, 8 to 21 FOW on jigs and a PBJ Ned. Crappie have moved out and are starting on the fry that have moved deeper - caught this mess in 20 FOW but picked up a couple as deep as 40 on a flicker shads. Lots of activity in the creek basins with whites and crappie strapping on a feed bag. Mike
  2. Lakemaster. I run the I-pilot link and that is the OEM software. Mike
  3. Awesome! He is hooked... Mike
  4. I hope you getting going soon! No worries, I have left plenty of fish for you......?
  5. Some beautiful fish there; well done! Mike
  6. Whites are firmer fleshed and taste great if properly trimmed out. They hold together great for fish sandwiches. I thought about trying them up your way Saturday evening Wrench but the bar hoppers convinced me otherwise. Mike
  7. Wife was spring cleaning Saturday morning which gave me the opportunity to vacate the house and fish. Arrived Saturday late morning and got on the water after noon, fished from 1-7pm. WT 66 and I was surprised to see the late had really cleared up as well as risen over a foot from the rain Friday night. First two spots I tried were spawning banks that always produce - zilch. Looked around some for walleye - zilch. Could see a few fish suspended in the basins that looked like crappie but it was pretty thin compared to normal but after prospecting a little bit I finally decided to pull cranks and see what size they were. After hauling water for some time and getting blown around I finally found a presentation that was acceptable and picked up 9 females between 12 and 15" as well as the usual blue catfishes drum assortment. Caught all fish on #7 Flicker shad in Uncle Rico or Purple Flash in 20', they would not touch anything else I put out there. NO males, and only ONE of these girls had spawned. Later in the afternoon I could see the bank fisherman starting to connect on males as the sun dipped and banks saw shade but I didn't see any slabs going aboard. Fished Sunday morning from 8-1030 and picked up 9 more big females although the largest was only 14" - NONE of these fish had spawned. Did not catch fish like I normally do and did not catch them on my typical baits. - this year is a bit off and I have not been on the water enough to have them dialed in. Beautiful weather, better than spring cleaning! Mike
  8. Nice hybrids! They are tasty too but can't beat that walleye... Mike
  9. Coffman Beach. It is about 4 miles by water to the 3. Mike
  10. Probably not far off; a very popular area - especially during the spawn. Two great MDC ramps and closest to St. Louis. Mike
  11. The fish are just coming onto beds; were there in the afternoons and gone in the mornings last weekend. I agree with WW, you will need to wait in line to get into a spawning pocket this weekend with the BBB....fishing should be excellent though. Mike
  12. Don't think so. Ray Behrens and Indian Creek have camping and boat ramps in the area I used to hunt. Mike
  13. The good news is this genre of fisherman usually zooms in, takes 5 casts, and zooms out. With empty livewells more often than not...... Mike
  14. Used to hunt up there when I was younger; have taken a number of birds from COE ground on N side of lake W of Spalding use area around Little Indian. There are a lot of birds but also hunters-scouting with that in mind makes a difference; I always found the best way was to come in from the lake... Mike
  15. Spots are were lowered to 12 on most MO lakes; I believe Bull and Norfork included, but TR is still 15. Mike
  16. Great stuff! (Except the trolling cranks, crappie don't bite crank baits, and never, ever, bite UV bright Wiggle Warts) Mike
  17. Beautiful fish; nice!
  18. They also have an erratic motion on the drop with the head inserted and are much better when vertical jigging. Mike
  19. Right in the middle at the turn south above Coconuts. Folks are usually looking at tachs and trim gauges rather than watching where they are going Through there, at least the guys I observed seem to be. Saw those same fish, and that is actually where they normally stage, but they would give me no love today where most years they are absolute suckers for pulled cranks. Guess I will have to fish shallow if I want to eat fish for the time being. I could have worse problems! Mike
  20. Trolled the upper Gravi basin this morning for whites and crappie; no joy. This year is just not going to pan out like I would like. Lake still pretty dingy and WT 49 to start around 8ish. Couple of big floaters up there; saw a couple attentive fellows running WFO miss the biggest by inches and it was a sure lower unit killer - I'm betting it got clipped it in the wind chop today By somebody as it was riding low. Did not really feel like bass fishing and there is no stickbait water in the lower end or Gravi so I tied on a blue flake Ned and thought I'd try to stumble over a walleye. Fished my way back up to the N Shore. Best 5 fish would top 25#, drum that is, not bass. Either way not what I was looking for. Caught plenty of fish, mixed bag, but nary a walleye. Probably caught 25 bass, mostly LM, and one 14" crappie in addition to the aforementioned drum, green sunfish, and bluegill all on chunk rock transition banks with wind. None of the bass were worth dragging to a scale with the sacks LOZ is producing but fun to catch on light tackle anyway. Off the lake around 2 PM; WT 52. Beautiful day on the water. Mike K
  21. I agree OP; I have seen the creeks settle out in a day after a heavy period of rain. But THIS is going on 3 months....I really would like to see some clearing. Mike
  22. 25 lbs is a good sack; looks like it was a jig fisherman's event all the way. Mike
  23. nomolites

    Walleye

    Toad alert.
  24. Gravi is mud; 18" visibility from the Mills down. Mike
  25. Nice!
