  1. I saw it on DD’s feed….awesome thing to be doing right now! Count me jelly as well…… Mike
  2. Look up some hard glide baits or Megabass suspending jerk baits……that $7 will seem more like a bargain priced item. Toys cost more I guess. Mike
  3. Took 3 new fisherman out and taught them how to spoon on LOZ yesterday evening….this is an hour and a half’s fishing with me just working and not fishing. They used snap raps and vibratos fished pretty much vertically, and wanted a fish fry so we kept a mess. Mike
  4. Have an onboard on the boat and a lithium jump start unit in the truck. They haven’t let me down. Mike
  5. I fish for striper and walleye a lot, and this time of year I fish extensively with spoons, both jigging and flutter of various sizes/configurations as well as in-line and tail spinners. They can work well and are versatile, cast a mile, and sink fast or slow depending on type. Mike
  6. I use Invisx as well, my flouro all around casting rods are spooled with either 8 or 10# - I use them for stripers, hybrids, walleye, and bass, and routinely catch large fish with no issues as long as I retie as required and replace when it is needed. I use more care when tossing 1 oz spoons, but those line sizes work well. I have one glide bait rod with 15# currently,, and again I use care when casting the bigger stuff. I use heavier braid/flouro for flipping docks/cover although I am almost always out in deep water. Mike
  7. I have an older Dyna King Barracuda that I acquired when they were reasonably priced, and I am quite happy with it. I will at times spend quite a bit of time in front of it cranking out ammo; I tend to lose a few in addition to giving to friends. Mike
  8. LOZ is low…..I’ll assume he is waiting on Fake News….😉 Mike
  9. And trout…. Mike
  10. Agree; unless you have radar, you should not be running like that in any fog. Things happen fast, and boats don’t brake. Mike
  11. We stayed at Reed Bingham on our way to and from Florida earlier this year; very nice place - second your recommendation! Mike
  12. A career should be an investment in yourself, and when one stays the course and pursues the right opportunities it pays off. Much like other investments, expectation of immediate returns is high risk, and very often ends badly. Good luck to you, gamble well. Mike
  13. Can’t catch ‘em from the couch….I’m betting you will jerk up something. Mike
  14. The majority of boat captains choose loud….it’s ridiculous listening to all the rigs on LOZ starting up and revving through transom….no, your is not bigger or you would not feel the need to do that. Mike
  15. Cold. Crisp lettuce and mayo. Mike

    What's Cooking?

Can’t go wrong there. Sous vide is definitely the bomb….my thanks to RPS for enlightening me to that method! Mike
  17. Merry Christmas all! Mike
  18. They’ve been around a long time. I called one in about 30 years ago while turkey hunting on the bluffs/pastures along the Osage outside of Linn, MO. Both of us were startled when we recognized the other, and we each quickly went our separate ways. Once that cat realized I was bipedal, he was gone. Folks back then told me I was mistaken, there were no lions in MO .……..sure thing, if you say so. Mike
  19. I’ve been known to do the “f” dance for considerably less than either one of those. Thank the good Lord for talented physicians and medical advancements! Mike
  20. Looked like swebo1 may have cashed at least one check…
  21. The high desert is one of my favorite ecosystems…besides the elk and other critters, the weather just over the divide on the west slope is so very different than the flatlands. I guess that explains the crazy real estate values….. Mike
  22. The reality is it’s no different than any other sight fishing; I’m thinking you were doing that last weekend. Fish can be frustrating, no matter how you look at them….but to get them to BITE! Mike
