  2. My brothers girlfriend lives in Kansas close to the ninnescah river. He has been wanting to bring his kayak and do a little float and fish there but her brother in law keeps telling him that he needs permission to float it from the land owners whos land he will be floating through. He asked me if this was true and I told him I didn't think so as long as he didn't go through private property to put in. But I told him I really know nothing about the law in Kansas. So if someone could give me a little info it would be much appreciated. Also any info about the fishing in this river would be great. Heck for all I know it may not even be worth fishing.
  3. My brother hit the huzzah Wednesday and only managed one fish
  4. Ya our biggest Kentucky wieghted 2.3 lbs. most the rest were only about 8-10"
  5. Ended up just putting in at the tavern access. Took the wives along with us so fishing 4 people out of the boat was kind of a pain. Fishing was pretty slow but we ended up catching quite a few spots. Mostly small. 1 good Lm and 3 keeper spots.
  6. Anyone been doing any bass fishing anywhere between the dam and mari osa? I will be floating/running this stretch on Sunday. I never really fished the osage much except a few short stretches on the yak. Was just wondering what to expect?
  7. Seth, from what I have gatherd from your previous posts I think we are from the same general area. (Although I could be mistaken). I live in linn. I've done lots of floats on the maries river from P hwy to sestaks slab or sestaks to T hwy. Also check out the Tavern creek down around the St. Elizabeth area. They are not quite as productive as some of the more southern rivers but they are difinitley worth fishing when you don't want to make a long drive.
  8. I caught a 21.5 a couple weeks ago and it only wieghted 4.3 lbs
  9. Get you a lifestraw . It's awesome. I keep one on my camping gear. It's pretty sweet. You can drink the muddiest water you can find and it will come out clear and clean. Just google it and check it out A thermocell is also great to keep the Mosquitos away
  10. I do have some YUM money hounds but I don't think I'm going to find many 3 ft openings in there. I'm lucky to find 3 inches of opening. Definitely gonna have to try the fluke though. I think I can get it to fall in those tiny holes. Thanks for the input guys!
  11. Well sounds like I'm on the right track. I've been throwing the KVD sexy frog and the ribbet frogs. Really like like the ribbits. Also been using yum money frogs. I like the Idea of bending the hooks up just a tad. I don't think im setting the hook to early. I get a lot if blow Ups where I just do nothing and they come back and hit it 2-3 times. They are just missing their target. Got the braid thing coverd and using a stiff rod. Tried a senko just a little bit but trying to get under the pads is tough as they are super thick in some spots. Fishing from a kayak. It a 155 acre lake with pads about 150 ft wide most thd way around and also some big patches in the middle so there is a lot of water to cover. So I guess ill just keep doing what I'm doing and hope for the best
  12. So I got permission to fish this lake near my house. I know there is some really nice fish In there but there is a lot of really thick Lilly pads with white flowers on them. There are a few places that are not as thick as others. I tried throwing a few different types of topwater frogs and had lots of good strikes but no hook ups. They just keep missing the lure completely. So what would you guys try.
  13. Thats an awesome video! That was an intense bite. Pretty sure i would have pooped myself!! I been fishing the topwater frogs a lot latlely. Been fishing Ben Branch lake. . 47 acre trolling motor only. Been fishing there since I was a kid (about 15 yeas) never really caught much there. I fish it a lot though because its very close to my home. Then about a month ago I caught my biggest bass yet (20"...don't laugh:) on a YUM money frog. Then three days ago I followed it up with a 22 incher on a KVD sexy frog. Maybe my little lake is lookin up!
  14. I am a huge chiefs fan and for now I'm trying to like Alex smith and yes he had a winning percentage with SF last year but its hard for me to forget his years in SF before that, when NFC west was worst division in football. 2005. 4-12 2006. 7-9 2007. 5-11 2008- 7-9 2009. 8-8 2010. 6-10 Definitely not great numbers in my book but hey as long as we are winning I'm gonna roll with it. GO CHEIFS!!!
  15. Thanks for the all the concern guys. Taking the kids on the river isn't something I would be jumping right into. Was thinking maybe a little more down the road. I have a few small lakes close. Basically just want to get them interested and start showing them the ropes.
  16. Thanks for all the replies. Think I might try to pick it up just to have, but keep looking for something different different for the family.
  17. I do a lot of kayak fishing but I have been thinking about buying a canoe so I can try to get the rest of the family to go have a little fun with me. I have 10 yr old twins who love to fish. I really was in no hurry to make a purchase since winter is about here but I came across this for $50 on Craigslist. Now I know absolutely nothing about canoes so I was wondering is this worth buying and putting a little work into or would I be better off just spending some $ later this spring. Though it might be a fun winter project. Would mostly be fishing rivers. This is the only pics they had. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
  18. I bought my tent on eBay for $45. Maybe could have found one a little smaller to fit better but I was in a hurry and needing it now at the time.
  19. No way of making it into a smaller circle. Have not used it much in the wind but it does have a spot to tie stakes. It's not really very big but i don't need much, just something to keep the dew off. As for fold up, there is nothing to it after a couple times. It can be folded up in about 10 seconds.
  20. Five gallon buckets are good but he mentioned being in a kayak. They won't fit
  21. I just got done last week with a 3 day 2 night trip in my coosa. I have done a few of these now and the hardest thing I have come across is cooler space. Other than that never really an issue with room. One thing I did do that helped save a lot of space is I bought an instant pop up tent. It folds up to a 28" circle and fits right behind the seat perfectly Now if I could just figure out how to bring my dog Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free

  24. Is it possible to post a picture on here with an iPhone? I don't have a computer. Caught my best fish of the year yesterday but can't post pics.
  25. Good idea.
