  1. does that mean you'll take a big rock pile for it?
  2. I always thought cedars didn't make good fish habitat. Someone about the way they decompose or their chemistry doesn't promote microbiotic growth. We need some our fisheries biology majors to chime here.
  3. No replies? I think there has been some discussion in the past. You might search. I think w/ digital stuff, you can't go wrong w/ Canon or Sony. Some have underwater housings you can get, too, so it might be worth checking out the accessories that you can add on.
  4. Not being critical. I know there are guys who can afford it and have earned it, etc. I appreciate the heads up.
  5. I thought the same thing. I guess if you're a pro who uses his gear every day like Brian would, that would be a good deal. I still can't believe I spend $90 on my St. Croix rod 14 years ago.
  6. There have been a lot of discussions on the board about it on Corps lakes. You might do a search.
  7. Here is the link to snopes.com, where I usually go to debunk the urban legends sent to me. Actually, no one sends them to me anymore because I always send them back a link. No wonder I don't have more friends......... http://www.snopes.com/politics/soapbox/williams.asp
  8. Those are 2 awesome fish.
  9. Saw this on the News-Leader this morning. I almost got swamped below Powersite once when my anchor hung. Eldon pair pitched into water as dam water releases © 2007, Springfield News-Leader A boat with two people on board capsized after it got too close to Bagnell Dam when the water was released. Eldon residents Kathy Byassee, 41, and Robert Salmons, 43, were catfish fishing 1,500 feet from Bagnell Dam on Wednesday morning in Lake Ozark. The bell sounded signally water from the dam was about to be released and they tried to get their anchor up, but could not get it in time, according to the Missouri Water Patrol. The water rushed over the side of the boat and flipped it. Byassee suffered neck pain. Neither were wearing a life jacket.
  10. L, that's my dream trip! Right now my dream trip is anywhere besides my front yard while the kids do their sidewalk chalk.

    Shorty Smalls

Seems like w/ the Spfd. location there was something about food poisoning or health dept. or something. I can't remember. You would think it was a good location, but I don't think the Pasta House, which replaced, is doing all that well. It never seems busy. Springfield's restaurant market is so oversaturated it's crazy. That's one industry I wouldn't want to be in.
  12. Look at the pix Tim posted from Crane creek earlier this week. Those fish varied greatly in color.
  13. I think the point is there is a bigger impact than your felt soles. Think what would happen if/when Stockton becomes infested with the pipeline to Springfield. Aeronikl's point is there will be impacts we're not even aware of. College of the Ozarks and the City of Branson both have intakes near the areas we like to fish (the real Taney squid.) Also, how's this going to impact the invertebrate populations when the entire bottom is covered? How will it impact lake levels when Empire has to lower lakes levels to service Powersite Dam?
  14. Aeronikl: Good stuff. Thanks for info.
  15. Looks like a big dead fish to me.
  16. We ought to have a Ozark Angler code. Honk three times if you want a fishing buddy. But not like that Senator from Idaho. Maybe Tony Orlando could sing something.
  17. Sounds like a good day. thanks for the report.
  18. That is what I meant John. Thanks
  19. That's one thing I've wondered about. Should the dry and dropper have any logical connection?
  20. Fishing the outlets? Not real sporting, is it?
  21. Don, I think Manning could do that to just about anyone. He is so good at recognizing a defensive alignment and then exploiting it. I'm in a couple fanatasy leagues myself. Just random ones on ESPN.com. I joined 2 last season (my first) and won both by dumb luck. The way drafts went this season, I'm not sure I'm going to be so lucky. Go Rams!
  22. Phil, just a * would be enough. Or put it in a list under the tables. Just ideas. The site does look nice.
  23. Nice. One suggestion, on the availability chart, if you could denote which are lake front, that would be helpful. I like the new look. Congrats. Now when is the store site coming back? :-)
  24. Be sure we get some reports after you get your ss minnow up and running.
