  1. Thanks for the post. I am going to commit to the jerk bait this year more. This give me encouragement to hang with it.... won't be able to get on the water until New years weekend...
  2. Caught 6 one keeper. All deep 40-50 feet on spoon or drop shot. Spent some time learning my electronics made some progress. Mostly on the spoon. Looking at upgrading from the 5 inch screen and adding GPS for the bow Glad to get out
  3. Thanks for the report.
  4. Just lowered my deductible to 500 for the year and the cost was 63$ extra. I don't know how I bought that original policy Surely I wouldn't have agreed to a 5000$ deductible. Next time I will read the papers closer. Tuition for this life lesson looks to be about 1300$. Luckily gears are all good.. just need new drive shaft bearings and seals.. Could have been worse.
  5. Thanks for your help. 2011. Four stroke 250. That helps to get me in the ballpark.
  6. Prop is not trashed at all. Exterior seems fine. I have a 5000$ deductible. Probably not my wisest day in selecting coverage. Just wanting to know if 1800 or 3500 or more might be normal.
  7. Insurance deductible is very high. Probably won't help me. What would be a ballpark fair price to rebuild lower unit?? any ideas or advice are welcome
  8. 36 volt trolling motor for sale. 2013 model I believe. Came off my 2011 Ranger 522. I got a new ultrex. 750$.
  9. Hit something this week and will need to rebuild or replace the lower unit. Broke the shaft. Ballpark what would be a fair price ? Any advice is welcome. I am not trying to get the cheapest job possible but want to know if the price is reasonable
  10. I think they are somewhat brittle. But i love them. Have broke two. And BPS has been great
  11. Guessing i hit something. Broke the shaft in lower unit. At least no injuries and minor inconvenience.
  12. Got a late start. Caught 5 one keeper. Spro Rockcrawler. Darker color. Red/ dark brown. Got one on a nu-tech jig. Main lake bluff and cuts Had lower unit problems. Was very fortunate to be towed back by Mark. He was very helpful. Glad to live in a part of the world where such good people live. Wouldn't want to be anywhere else. Mark thanks again.

  14. My challenge at Eagle rock is on putting back in after fishing.. need to park in the big lot and eliminate the challenge when others park very close. Thanks for the feedback.
  15. Launching in Eagle Rock park is very tough.... only a few parking places and very tight. Can a person launch by the marina? Thanks Friday fishing was tough out of Big M caught 24 with two keepers...topwater, jig, and ned rig... lost a hog on the jig near sundown... got me in a bush.
  16. Thanks. So. Much. Taking my 13 year old in the morning. He is showing More interest. Hope to get him some action
  17. Thanks for the feedback... very helpful
  18. On my wish list over the next year is to upgrade my electronics. I have down imaging 5 inch screen Lowrance up front and 7 inch down imaging and GPS at the console. I believe I want to go with Hummingbird next time. My real question is concerning SI on the front unit.. does anyone use that much? And would it be helpful up front... or more for cruising around with the console unit? Thanks for any input
  19. Put in at 3;00 fished until dark. Caught 19 with 4 barely keepers. One LM and rest spots. Lost a good smallie. Used PBJ Jig, red finesse worm, cinnamon twin grub, and topwater near dark. And some drop shot. Got one on a 5 inch kietech swim bait over some deeper water. Mostly on points, throwing to the bank... coming back to 25 to 30 foot deep. Saw a guy drop shotting on a dropoff in a big flat... he didn't stay long. Did see two guys on one point just pounding the small bass.. don't know what they were using but they were having a total ball... didn't want to get too close... but every time we looked over they had one on. Was really fun to see how much fun they were having. Good luck to everyone... I am headed to Tenkiller next weekend...
  20. That is a nice fish, for anywhere, and a beauty for a creek. The large mouth in the river and creeks seem to be extra crafty especially the big ones,... nice job
  21. This forum has truly been helpful for me as well. I can get honest info, that really makes a difference when I have 4-6 hours per week to fish at times. I often take people out that don't fish much, and helping them get bites, is so much easier with the range of advice, and experience each week. Thanks to all.
  22. On the water at 6:00 off at 10:00. Caught 24. No keepers. Biffle bug , PBJ jig. Drop shot and ned rig in green and silver color. . sinking jerk bait. smoke grub all caught fish Biffle was was the best producer. Had to keep moving around. A lot of people out fishing this morning. Everthing caught was. 25 foot or less. Worked mostly main lake points. And flipped some bushes. Had a a good time but it got hot and crowded at the end. Felt very fortunate to do as good as we did Good luck. Will Most likely be my last trip for at least 3 weeks.
  23. I have not fished much in that area.. but looking at the map I think the brown is dirt.. the tan shoreline is pea gravel and the grey is chunk rock. hope this helps
  24. Google maps and look at the satellite images... will help a bunch
  25. bferg.... trying to catch them on something different and learning new techniques I think is important. Some days I commit to two things, and others just decide to try something new. I need to get confidence in the crankbait.... it just bores me too quickly. Thanks for sharing.
