  1. I think he has had to much time in the house and not enough time on the water or golf course Donna hurry up and take the poor guy fishing!!! Now that's funny right there!! NEDFIN
  2. It occurs to the fish in the egg form most often Genetic or Vitamin related from the female fish. Very rarely happens to adult fish except in extreme circumstances like lighting strikes and electric shocks to hatchery ponds brood fish although it could happen to lake coves, as we have all seen lighting strike the water. If your around a hatchery that is or does hatching of eggs it is pretty cool to go watch which ever species it is. It does occur in all species and usually is in a small percentage of the population.
  3. A very nice parting shot for those of us that can't get out during the week HAHA All joking aside nice healthy fish and a super sunset picture.. Good job !!!
  4. We all fish in a short window frame (at least most of us) & truth is sometimes we miss the bite. You can be doing the right stuff in the right place at the right time and they not be biting. We can't hit it right every tournament day or pleasure fishing day. I wise older fishing guide and great guy once told me that he had kept records for years and in looking back at his normal 7 day fishing span. He would have 2 great days, 2 medium days and 3 bad days. I don't get to fish every day and some times I get bites and sometimes not. Fish dont have to eat everyday even in warm water Temps. But in warm water most feed at night. All I can say is keep going I do.
  5. Man that just bites!! Great for you and I have been there many times. I wish I had an understanding of why and how?? Bumping the Square bill, Nothing on a wart, and kill them on the SB. Go figure If you was in the same area then you know they had seen the other baits. They just were not triggered until the SB came by and then BAAMMM!! I just don't understand this game. Maybe I need to fish more It does seem to me that when I really catch them good it really is not that complexed of a patteren
  6. Could be an old female that didn't produce eggs also is a thought I had, but not saying one way or the other..
  7. My report for sat is not stellar by any shape except for a good ole bigun. I fished from 7-3:30 and was all prepared for a Crankbait, Grub, Jerkbait, and A Rig bite smack down. I love to toss the wart this time of year, but Saturday it was to not in the cards for me. I know there were guys on sat that probably caught the fire out of them on warts, but it didn't happen for me so wrong areas, wrong time, wrong color, wrong something. I went to stained water earlier nothing so I came back later and nothing again. I had to be in clear water to get a bite, so I stayed in the clear water ranging from 3 miles +/- the KC bridge. I ended up with 3 keepers on the A Rig, 1 on the Grub and and a few shorts mixed in. No other action on the above mentioned baits. Water temps 51-53 and the boat had to be in 25 fow tossing shallower early in the day and 38ish later in the day. All the fish all came with in a 100 yard stretch of bank that I would consider a " Pre-spawn staging" area. Birds where present and eating thought the day in several of the spots that I stopped on. The early morning clouds, wind, and spitting rain was nice. I think and as the sun got brighter and later in the day it seemed to put those fish closer to the bottom. The early action you could see bait and fish action in the water column on the graph, but as the day got brighter they seemed to vanish ie.. the bottom I think. Yes I did try the Ned & no I didn't fish it slooowww enough and yes I did toss a shaky head and yes I missed a couple of pick-ups on it. All in all a great day to alive and well in the Ozarks. The Big fish came on the A Rig and was 6.22 no belly as in being full of eggs, but probably shad or craws would be my guess. The A Rig I was using was really the only solid thing I could hang my hat on Saturday. It is one made by Underbite custom tackle out of Yellville, Arkansas and is a special "Missouri Rig" I have them make that only has 3 wires on the back for my hooks and the fronts are used for teasers and blades. It was paired with Jennybugs Swimmers made in Thayer, Missouri..

  9. Yes it is a 12 volt DC charger that depending on the size of the unit runs off your Big motor ie..starting battery, then hooks to the other batteries and charges them after it tops off the starting battery. I loved mine it was great and I never had a problem with it. There is also a 110 AC model that you can purchase if there is ever a need and even a cord that connects to your tow rig that allows you to use the alternator from the Tow rig. I had that on my Rig and between that and the DC charger on the boat I rarely even used the AC 110 charger that came with the boat. I talked with Danny multiple times on the phone and although I never personal met him, he always was very helpful and very easy to understand and work with. Also mine had a gauge on the console and you could watch it to help determine when to use and start the big motor it was also Alarmed to sound when it was going to low.
  10. A special paint job I had done actual for Bull by my Buddy in Jonesboro (Macs custom Cranks). He's got family in the area and one thing lead to another, you know the story. He's my go to paint guy
  11. I had one on a 05 cougar and I thought it was great. Never a problem. The dc charging was great and I thought helped the batteries last longer that JMHO
  12. Put in at the Elizabeth Ramp with the water color a heavy stain (relative to the Norfork normal "GIN clear") and 61.8 water temp. Ran out to the first big turn and there was the RED MUD & 58 water temp with lots of Floating Debris, didn't go any further. Fished some bank areas around this area that normally have the first Crappie action and we did catch several keepers and shorts and a mix of small bass as well all on crappie tubes and small grubs. With all the small bass I was like so I tossed a wart for about 15 mins and had a 4.25lber and a couple over 2 1/2 all LMB, then went back trying for crappie. No whites but there was white action in the middle of the coves and a few busting close to the boat just didn't try. It wont be long!! Good luck Stay safe and enjoy the blessing of the Spring season, Before we all start complaining of the HOT temps!
  13. Thanks for all the post I went Thursday and put in at Spring Creek Ramp fished from 1-4. Did a lot more looking for brush, but did mange a dandy on a Jerkbait in the wind on a point a No-brainer spot. I will try and load it up. I didn't have to worry about a parking spot at the ramp I had my choice Water temp was 41ish on my graphs & yes the wind was BLOWING also.
  14. Could not have said that better Champ
  15. Thanks for the info.. I didn't make it out this weekend, but plans are on for thur/fri-ish now. Pontiac road conditions and ramp clear enough for boats to go and launch. I will be coming up 5 north
  16. Thinking of hitting Spring Crk weather permitting. Anybody been out in that area
  17. Mark "the Ninja" Davis
  18. Thanks B.B. I always wondered what the temperature was that company X,Y, or Z made them suspend or set at. I figured it was different per each company, but I always did the "tinkering" method with which ever model at the cold to warmer temps. You a box for cold temps. One for cool temps. One for over 48ish temps. The add-age one size "fits" all usually does not work with the true JB person
  19. I usually keep it simple Megabass: Pro Blue, ITO Natural, Elegy Bone, & Wakin React have always been good up there for me Rogue: Clown, Ayu, & Threandfin Shad There are other brands and color schemes, but those a my goto's. One of, if not the best JB guy is in that neck of the woods. He is tough anytime, but with that bait for sure!
  20. Man I'm learning so much my head is fixn to explode then Champ tosses in the "don't know a bite from a boomerang" and I about fell out of my chair . I never have guided, but have friends who do and I have heard some Hum Dingers. My hat is off to our guides around here on these clear water Highland reservoirs and to share knowledge like this they and the whole OA group are top notch. I'm fixn to order some of the Zinkerz and go with that as my starting point. Thanks again I didn't mean to high jack the original idea on this tread. It just is cool to bounce these ideas off knowledgeable heads
  21. Thanks for this little "Bit" of info. I have been playing this around in my little P brain. I have not used this bait yet, but I will. My question is really two part. I have been wanting to use 6lb Nano-fill with a 4-6lb floro leader will this work with the above weights? Also is the new T.R.D. the new go to or would y'all advise me to use the Zinkerz and just cut it? Remember I'm a "Newbee" to this type of finesse game I can toss a Tube, Spoon, and Drop shot with most, but this IMHO takes the word Finesse to a whole different plant. I also believe with the Non Action of the technique and the elastech qualities of the lure are the "Trigger" that makes fish bite.
  22. That will do it to a feller!!!
  23. Lots of looking for the right stuff and never been that far up so I guess I was really looking more than fishing. Got the string stretched a few times.
  24. Yeah probably what about a 35-40 mile round trip. By hey it was all good, except the HEATER on the boat wasn't working on the boat for some reason!!! The air conditioner was stuck on!! Wowzers!!!!
  25.
