  1. Good luck and have fun when you get there!
  2. I did the drift boat trip (My first ever guided float), loved it.
  3. That's pretty cool. I had a great time on the Tuckasegee, Eugene seems like he would be a good guy to work for. Best of luck to your boy, I could really get into that life myself! (If I was a better fisherman of course)
  4. Just curious ruthead, who does your son guide for? The guide I had last week said he had just hired a guy from Missouri recently, this was "Flyfishing the Smokies" out of Bryson City.
  5. My wife and I are going back there the end of May(staying in Bryson City this time). 2 years ago we stayed outside of Gatlinburg and I liked the access from Greenbrier rd. east of town about 5 mins. Crowds were nonexistent there, maybe saw 3 other fishermen. Smoky Mountain Angler fly shop in town will hook you up with a good map(free) and mark some spots for you on it. Have fun!
  6. Ross provided an "explanation" on this post just a bit ago. All is well, nothing to worry about folks<sarcasm>
  7. At least they added an amendment to it. Reads like it might be helpful depending on how they determine if "such a right exists on a watercourse.". AMEND House Bill No. 2405, Page 2, Section 60.700, Line 25, by inserting after all of said section and line the following: "60.701. Nothing in sections 60.700 to 60.708 shall be construed to limit or expand any public easement for navigational or recreational purposes if such a right exists on a watercourse."; and Further amend said bill by amending the title, enacting clause, and intersectional references accordingly.
  8. Here's his "explanation" of that: He just wants to play games and act like a moron.
  9. Talked to my rep. today (Mike Kelley), he seemed very receptive to my concerns and assured that he would address it when it comes up for a hearing. Told me to call him anytime, I was pretty impressed with his interest in this and for listening to my issues.
  10. And here he comes again with HB 2405 which looks just like 955. http://www.house.mo.gov/billsummary.aspx?bill=HB2405&year=2016&code=R
  11. I have floated it quite a bit over the last several years, downstream of there(LaRussell to 37 hwy). Mostly largemouth, a few smallies and a crappie or 2 in some of the deeper pools but historically not very good fishing. I end up there because it's 5 minutes away.
  12. https://www.boat-ed.com/missouri/faq How do I replace my temporary certificate (Temporary Missouri Boating Safety Certification Card) if Ive lost it or it has been damaged? Log in to the course with your username and password, and print another copy.
  13. Gee, thanks for the elaboration on that.... Now every time I read one of your posts I'm gonna have this undesirable mental image. ?
  14. I never met or talked to Wayne either, but he sure contributed a lot of knowledge and experience here. RIP Sir.
  15. The head and tail must remain attached to the fish while you are fishing on waters where length limits apply. ^^^quote from the regs book. I take that to mean you can remove the fillets.
  16. I will get some tied and sent or brought in to Phils. Will be a few weeks before I can get started, got a lot of family issues at the moment.
  17. Made it through committee with "do pass" recommendation(with an amendment).... http://www.house.mo.gov/BillActions.aspx?bill=HB955&year=2015&code=R
  18. Deadwood Gotham Band of Brothers NCIS MASH
  19. ? Looks like rubber legs to me. I normally use spinnerbait skirts from the tackle shop(for the larger flies anyway) instead of buying the ones marketed for fly tying.
  20. Hey, it works on the Ipad now. Thanks!
  21. That's a great post. Congratulations!
  22. In case you haven't seen it yet: http://www.news-leader.com/story/news/politics/2015/03/14/effort-make-paddling-laws-clearer-sparks-confusion/70295302/
  23. Agreed!
  24. I got this from my Senator: "Thank you for your email regarding HB 955. This bill is in the House so I have not heard a lot about the issue. I do know that the Federal Government is trying to declare more waterways "navigable" so they can then regulate them. At first glance of this bill, it looks as if this is trying to keep Missourian rights in place. I noticed it had a public hearing this week. It still needs to pass the committee, House floor, and then Senate Committee before I will be able to vote on the measure. I will keep watching for it and keep your thoughts in mind. I appreciate you bringing this to my attention." Well, there's another angle. I sure don't see anything in it that is trying to keep rights in place.... Nothing else from my Rep. yet.
