  1. Definitely will be sending hime something as a big Thank You. I was just going to send some money, but I like the idea of the gift card. Thanks guys, I'm ecstatic!
  2. I'm getting my rod back! A guy found it the other day and ended up googling the name on the logo (custom made rod from Michigan) and called the guy that built it. The builder sent me a pm through the fly tying forum to call this person that may have found my fly rod, so I did and sure enough it was mine. Great guy, he said he had cleaned it all up (already covered in moss) and is gonna ship it back to me. People like this renew my faith in humanity. Scott
  3. FYI, if no one noticed...that article is from 2012. Not that it matters I guess, still not good...

    5/18/14 Float

I got a Cuda 12 this year also, and took my first longer trip in it last weekend on the NFOW. Great boat! (I lost a brand new fly rod outfit though, my fault for not paying attention at a bad time)
  5. Most definitely call Sunburst!
  6. Lost my brand new fly rod yesterday at the falls, like a moron I didnt have it lashed down and i got rolled over. So, if anyone happens across a 9' 4 pc 5wt with dark blue wraps and an Okuma SLV reel with pea green Fly line on it I would be very happy to get it back...(just got this rod a few weeks ago, was my first outing with it). On another note, we stayed at Justins place for 2 days and floated twice, had a fantastic time! Justin and Amy are the perfect hosts. The weekend sure got expensive with the lost rod and a locked up wheel bearing on my kayak trailer but it was still worth every penny.
  7. Mr. Heater:
  8. Located at Spring river bridge, East side of Carthage on 96 highway.
  9. Crappie. Nice one.
  10. I was pleasantly surprised by the James river for something close to home.
  11. Cc's pretty busy even without a tournament going on. Could be a bit of a wait to put in. You work at Schreiber? I was an electrician at the Claxton plant till 5 years ago.
  12. Academy in Joplin is unable to put them out on the counter, corporate said no.... I have a bunch if anybody in the area needs some. Do not know of anywhere else to put some out, Southtown bait did not reopen after the tornado so there really isn't a sporting goods store here anymore besides Academy. Could probably drop some at Bud's bait in Carthage.
  13. I got a bunch of stickers from Phil today. Anybody in the Joplin/Carthage area that needs some, let me know. I am trying to get them in Academy for folks to pick up, the manager has to get final approval from corporate but he seemed very willing to do it.
  14. I was there today. I got none in 2 hours, spoke to a few folks who had some fish, they said it was still pretty slow. Nobody with more than a few fish. I guess I shouldn't say none.. I did catch 1 chub and he wasnt very big. Foul hooked too. Dropped him in the kayak after I removed the hook and he escaped through one of the scuppers. Not a large fish.
  15. I live east of Carthage and work in Joplin, I'd be glad to help.
  16. My sentiments exactly. To think that we(humans) "know best" how to maintain natural balance is, for lack of a better word, arrogant on the part of the "experts" and morons alike(the line between which is which is pretty blurry IMO). Mother Nature will fix things back up just fine after we're long gone and have stopped jacking with it.
  17. Too cool.
  18. Is this it?
  19. Thanks for all the work Clay and Phil!
  20. You mentioned scupper plugs. I don't know how big the ones on your kayak are, but you can probably go to Walmart or Academy and get a package of those foam practice golf balls. Poke a piece of poly rope through them and you have scupper plugs for cheap.
