I wad under the impression that you could fish below rr any time of year as it is a white ribbon area. Where does that start then?

I went down in December and there were tons of trout in there and the river below! They were taking wooly and white thread jigs on fly rod and. Orange and olive or Brown jigs on spin gear.

I grew up on a small stream like this. I always had the best luck for smallies on maribou jigs and small rubber crawdads. My father always used half a night crawler or a rebel craw and he out fished me every time out. Saw him land a 25" one on a brown and orange jig.he always uses a light action with four lb test mono. Just be patient he says. Lol

Small mouth season closed end of February to 4th Saturday in May for spawning . They run pretty far up the spring in December so they usually don't get disturbed until spawning is over. I've caught them at the whistle bridge in Bennett several times.
