  1. This is funny since I run an Ice cream shop 😆 also as of now only two yaks so not really a floatilla lol
  2. You guys are giving me anxiety that I have to wait until Friday now!
  3. Have heard several people say they have seen muskie up little sac . I think i may have seen pne below that big farm down from 215 like 5 years ago
  4. Headed out to 215 floating to taylor.... Friday early hope to find some of those walleye ive been hearing about ! 😁😎
  5. 😆
  6. How dis water level affect the bite? I figured it would push them up farther to s curves and up slagle. Also I bet the two riffle runs below 215 are filled with fish as well
  7. I think they pulled all the rain off now. Good luck. I am supposed to go with mntransplant on Friday . hope the cold front doesn't throw them off
  8. Morning?
  9. They catch them all the time in pothole and on the James by fly. I just never get down that way. I lost a giant walleye between 215 and Taylor in a big gravel shelf back eddie area. It probably went 6 or 8 lbs. The only fish i caught that day had been a tiny white and then the beast. Good luck. We are floating 215 to taylor next friday
  10. Its that time. Three years ago I caught a 16 or 17 inches down there on my flyrod . tiny red craft fur clouser
  11. What a great fish! Hunches can get in there and drive a guy to the water. The situation you described sounds perfect for prespawn smallies.
  12. My little brother caught a baby shortnose gar I argued it was a pickerel until dad clarified the situation with literature.
  13. Also serricornis is what they are. Usually common in Michigan and Wisconsin. Mdc said nothing about them. I even emailed them to no avail. Thanks for all the info and discussion everyone thia was on the little things that has driven me crazy for like three years.
  14. This was more informative than mdc. I was really disappointed by mdc break down of the bug. Didn't give any substantive information at all.
  15. Gotcha . i guess i misunderstood lol. Yeah I think thats why the smaller olive ans black wooly buggers clean up down there.
  16. So a hellgramite is the larvae of a Dobson fly not a fish fly. They are two different species . I looked into this in depth. The fish fly is smaller and haa smaller pincers. The mdc website only discusses a tan brown colored fish fly the ones at crane are black and are called dark fish fly.
  17. My wife is saying I should be able to go weather permitting. Grandma is gonna watch the little man. I have a truck for shuttle purposes. Let me know for sure
  18. I will try to see about joining on this adventure. With the baby and my wife working may be hard but I will at least make an effort. Really need a day on the water
  19. Yeah they don't belong here they are common in Michigan and northern places. Only place I have ever seen them
  20. So I finally figured out what the large dobsonesque /stoneflyesque creature flying around crane creek is. They are called fish fly. Dark fish fly to be precise. They are in same family as Dobson flies. Didn't even know we had these in Missouri. They are very similar to dobson fly. The difference and the reason I started to question what i have been seeing is tye whiteish yellow spots on the wings and smaller pinchers. They have larvae similar to hellgramite and can easily be confused.
  21. White flies really help with visual strike detection. Especially when going sub surface. Also get rid of weed guards they just cause missed fish
  22. Keep it simple starting out. Floating line with 4 feet of 10 to 15 then blood knot to 8 lb . if popper fishing this is great. If need sinking set up I defer to billethead above.
  23. Yes I got the rod set-up but im referring to your rigging for fiahing. Line leader fly etc
  24. Usually this is the best situation for slaying crane creek giants... What were u using? And what line leader set up?
