  1. For the money those BP rods are hard to beat, especially when you shop and buy them at their outlet store. In my opinion the BP Extreme med. with fast tip and that crankin stick are the best around for up to 1/2 oz. spinner baits and crank baits as well. All in 7'. I don't care for the split handles and I like the older models with the forward cork piece as these two models still have. The fat handle doesn't bother me because I use my left hand up close or on the reel and the right on the forward cork for hook set leverage. I also like a Team Diawa 6.3.1 reel.
  2. Those are good looking heads, did you pour those yourself, 60° hooks and horrizonal tie eye. Just right for me.
  3. Good looking jig heads, 60° hook with horrizonal eye, just right for me. Did you pour those yourself? or where did you buy them?
  4. Pete's wife passed away several years ago, but he was still fishing twice everyday at about 2 hours per shot.
  5. Most of the time when the light level changes I am ready to go in. However, maybe we should paint up some florescent orange spoons.
  6. One of the most consistent fisherman on Table Rock in the non professional class had to be Dick Collier from Springfield and no doubt Bo James would fit in there too.
  7. Bill, How did you negoiate all that rough water from the dam area down stream to the Indians?, or was that Big and Little No. Indian?
  8. Most of the time when the light level starts getting darker it will kill the spoon bite.
  9. The accolades are definitely on you Bill, I think I counted about 10 keepers!, heck of a good outing in my book. Sure wish I could afford those high dollar electronics you're sporting (HDS 7or 8). Your clients should be happy even with that type of outing. Good Work!!
  10. There are times during this time the Bass are right on the bank and it is extremely important to have a nearly silent entry and this is easier to do with a hair jig. Also if you can still find Spring Lizard Pup in pork really turns them on.
  11. I was quite sure that was a Hawg Jaw made by Don Williams at Cape Fair years ago in the early 70's.
  12. First full moon in March, Brown and Orange 1/4 oz., deadly, especially up in the large feeder creeks at night. Zoom trailer
  13. The best line I have found is Zebco 50# braid on a cheap BP gold 6000 ( wide spool ) type baitcast and you can throw it a mile and very little backlash problem and if you do it won't break. It is all but indestructible! I believe you could pull a boat in with it. Virtually no abrasion as a matter of fact I didn't retie at all last year. I pull those things a lot along the bottom and in cedars and pole timber and have never broken off. Walmart quit handling it, so I don't know where you can buy it now. Probably just have to call them. I also use their 20# braid on all my crappie stuff especially in these brushpiles. Regarding the baits, I use 3/0 leaded 1/8oz hooks, 3" or 4" swim-baits. As if you were rigging a Slug-In-Go, hiding the hook in the slot.
  14. When you say up the White, how far up the White, Shell Knob, Big M or Eagle Rock ?
  15. I need to be brought up to speed people!, What are the advantages of a glass jerkbait and are we saying real glass like breakable?
  16. We really love that chocolate " track a coon " muddy water. We've caught more big bass in that stuff than anybody can realize. Especially right after the mud-up, big red crankbaits, Jigs and gitzits.
  17. I love this man!, I was sitting here feeling like a bucket of you know what's and this made me laugh so hard I plumb forgot how I was feeling. Keep up the good work dtrs.
  18. Yep, About one day away from the antibiotics, with emphysema can't let it get a toe hold on you. I figured you would be at it again today?, beautiful day. My wife would have made me put that WE on a stretcher. You didn't see my initials on any those did you?
  19. Man!!, Right off my front porch and here I am sitting in my big chair freezin, coughin, gaggin, blowin and spittin myself to pieces. Bluff ends and 45° chunk rock 10 - 30' on the grub with ¼ oz head? My compliment, good day for this time of year. Where did you put?
  20. I am wondering what your opinions are on the A Rig vs. Jerk Bait. It seem like around here it is almost superseding the Jerk Bait. Bigger fish and more catches. It seems here it cycles with the Jerk Bait in-so-far a water temp. and season. We have made some experiments and it seems the guy in the front of the boat almost seines the bank. After the water temp. hits 60°it seems to not hardly work here. Would appreciate your comments regarding your experience.
  21. Gosh!, I read and studied Bo's remarks and I didn't see anything controversial, demeaning or condescending in it. He was merely commenting on his personal experience and opinion what works for him. I haven't been on here for very long and don't have much historical data on his previous posts, but from what I got out of it he was just passing on his personal opinions and experience. If that's the case and we are so offended by that, then some of our older experiences shouldn't be ever mentioned and only pay attention to newer techniques. Sore Thumbs, It appeared you had your guns cocked and loaded for him!!,from another encounter maybe?. If not some of us are awfully thin skinned on here.
  22. I miss typed, 6XD, I have had real good luck with them, especially where chunk rock, boat docks and ledges. Most are good fish!
  23. I am very surprised to see that a 10XD has not been mentioned?
