  1. Good to know, I'll pick some up for sure.
  2. Tried the Ned / Little rig for the first time Saturday and had a blast. Put together about 10 more tonight and I've noticed my Zinkers really start to split and come apart when holding them against the jig head to glue them on. Could be the no name super glue I'm using breaking down the lure... Anyone else notice this? They still seemed to hold together.
  3. Which jig heads are you guys using for this?
  4. Found some good info on here just searching "zman".
  5. I work in Springfield, catching thieves for a living. I'll let you know if your guy catches my eye, I won't miss that vehicle.
  6. Am I supposed to have a pass to launch at the bridge in Cape fair? What about the Kings River "public access" ?
  7. Thanks guys. We added a trolling motor to the boat so that's handled. Definitely would like to get with Bill someday. Still just playing around for now. Still thinking we might try kings area next time. Just trying to plan our routes ahead of time so we don't waste daylight looking for a ramp, preferably free ones. But I'm not against a COE pass if we need to get one.
  8. So we've made a couple trips to Cape Fair and had some luck. Also thinking about trying out the Kings River area, is that a COE launch? Thanks
  9. We were running a 3 blade 17p on our 85hp merc. Switched to a 21p and gain some of the mph we wanted but lost some rpm. Gonna try out a 19p and look for a happy medium. Have bought multiple props and found a wealth of knowledge from John at John's Hot Props in Ozark.
  10. In years past I have had good luck with roadrunner and rooster tail from the bank. Mainly roadrunner in white or chartreuse. Now days I have a boat so I just practice throwing money into the lake.
  11. Yeah we were releasing them so it didn't need to be official. Good enough to show who claimed the day.
  12. We didn't put in until 3 and and went up past point 15. No bites for us until probably 530pm. I threw a wart, flicker shad, and Yumbrella. Friends threw other random stuff. Started trolling and caught a couple small ones on a jig with a white minnow. So, put the Yumbrella out there and caught the first decent one. Buddy tied on a rapala rs4 and proceeded to school us, pulled in 7 or so. URL=http://smg.photobucket.com/user/JamesFoster/media/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG955002.jpg.html]
  13. I read enough here that I had to make a stop today. Got skunked again on Tuesday and gearing up for another attempt.
  14. Gibbs upholstery in republic mo.
  15. We live in the springfield area but I keep the boat in marionville, hence our typical route down through aurora. I've seen the "get a guide" response in a lot of threads and that sounds like a great way to get some good knowledge. We're still new enough that just taking the boat out on the lake is half the fun. Read some other people recommending the Bridgeport area, we'll have to check it out. Looking at maybe Big M as well but I assume there's a fee involved. Thanks
  16. Hello, new member. Been lurking for a while. Been fixing up an old Starcraft and starting to hit the lake. Launched from Shell Knob a few times now with little to no luck regarding fish. My fishing partner and I are first time boaters (shore fishermen) so really no experience and it shows. Been reading a lot of the great advice on here and read the "March Bass" topic in the tips section and checking out the "TRL Maps" too. This has me interested in trying some different spots. We just ordered a lowrance mark 4 fish finder, but sure there will be a learning curve since we've never used one. Still shopping for a trolling motor. Where should we try launching next? Read a lot about point 15 but idk how much Creek action we can run until we add a trolling motor. Trying get read up on the a - rig, jika, wiggle wart, etc. Threw a Yumbrella some yesterday but lost it as I knew I would. Thanks
  17. Hello, been reading the table rock forum for a while and decided to join up. My name is James and I'm in the springfield area. Fished a lot in my youth and got away from it through college and after. Looking to get back in. Really enjoying the good advice I've read so far. Got an old Starcraft boat I've been fixing up with a buddy. We've put in at Shell Knob a few times without much luck regarding fish. But, we've been lifelong shore fishermen so, not much experience on where the spots are. Hoping to try some other areas and lakes soon.
