  1. Jim in Harrison Arkansas will be missed........ he built some of the best. Falcon dropped the contract and went to China. Just before he closed the doors, he sold me 30 Falcons built right there in Harrison. Wished I had bought more. Jim gave me a tour and schooled me on how they built them. Unfortunately, he had already let most of the employees go. Glad to see you refurbished them and catching fish!
  2. Let's blame Spooney. It will be interesting to see how the Quest pans out.
  3. Did you take a ride after a cable break?
  4. Shhhh.......you're saying the quiet part out loud. My dad worked for GM for 36 years. He always said, don't buy 1st year, you're only test driving them for the company.
  5. Someone buy the $4,200 model and let us know how well it performs.......please. https://www.bassmaster.com/gear/news/introducing-the-new-minn-kota-ultrex-quest/
  6. $130,000 boat forfeited to Ohio Fish n Game. 10 days, $2,500 fine. https://www.wkbn.com/news/local-news/walleye-tournament-cheaters-facing-sentencing/
  7. Stay off my spot. 100 yards from any direction from where you are is mine. Haven't forgotten about painting your warts Quill......
  8. Better be paying attention. I've seen the James muddy, but dang. Just below Piney...... MASSIVE logs and huge debris mats. Hoping to fish Piney? Good luck.
  9. A buddy told me.... Go to BPS online.......find the reel you want. Enter promo code 23Trade20, 23Trade30, 23Trade40 or 23Trade50 depending on the cost of the reel. It's one reel per transaction. Shipped same day.
  10. A special thank you to Quillback! Your help is appreciated. You and Phil rock.
  11. A special thank you to Phil Lilley! Your help is appreciated.
  12. A few more.......... anyone interested in trading NIB for beaters, pm me. Thx!!
  13. I'm able to trade one New In Box for 4-6 beater warts usually depending on the color the other is wanting. This translates to 'paying' about $5-$6 each when I trade. I found a booth at an antique mall where the seller had 50 warts....60% were beaters. They were asking $25 to $60. Eight months later I noticed they're still there. In talking with my painting community friends, they all say $5 is the general consensus. Trades available.....
  14. No doubt. Kids, wife, soft plastics, airbrush and the big hobby (😉) and everything in between. Spoony may never gets his warts painted.
  15. $165. New seat w pedestal. Thx! Jim 417-830-5588
  16. Great! Thank you for the offer, beater warts are great for repaints. Better condition ones......? Might be against the law in some instances. 🙄
  17. Looking for beat up pre-rapala warts to paint....... PM/DM me please.
  18. I'm guessing.......yes. They rely on 'has beens' to show them where to catch fish.
  19. May have been a bad batch......not sure. They're easy to use, but seeing the pile of mush laying there changed my approach.
  20. Nope. A limited few who sweat and yes, bled, have the GPS on them. Funny to watch poachers sit and watch us hoping to see us dump them in. We just take a break til they get bored. Always thought they may offer to help........nope, once a poacher always a poacher I guess. To each their own.
  21. 35 years ago BPS had a huge pontoon they loaned out free of charge to a limited number of folks. It was strictly for us to put brush out with. I was allowed to use it for three years before they stopped it. I was told it became a liability issue. That's when I bought my own pontoon for the sole purpose of brush and rocks. From experience.....cinder blocks tend to corrode rapidly under water.....I used to use them. The water got down to 900 one year and I noticed two blocks had turned into a small pile of concrete mush. I started using large rocks off the bank with aluminum electric fence wire. I also learned....if putting brush on points with a lot of current....use A LOT of Rock to hold them. Otherwise after a flood....the way point is no longer viable.🤣
  22. I for one spent $8,000 on a pontoon, stripped everything except a couple seats, steering wheel and new motor. After that? I put in over 200 brush piles, large brush piles...... and probably close to 30 rock piles. My question is.....what have you done to improve the fishery? I enjoy hearing stories of hardwork and dedication to improving Tablerock.
  23. Kansas generally does a fantastic job of managing several thousand square miles of land.
  24. Suggesting we consider changing the ways/times of tournaments causes angst. As a 'has been' I guess, no need for me to comment regarding significant changes I've witnessed to the fishery in the 50 years I've been a part of it. Texas does slot limits and works extremely hard on their lakes....maybe modify tournaments in an attempt to find common ground to relieve some of the pressure on a limited resource (TR) is a bridge too far. I was once a weekend warrior. It was fun. I made money in the process. In my 'has been' years I've come to the realization taking bedding fish 5, 6, 7, 8, 9.... culling to upgrade for an ounce or two at a time. 50, 100, 200, 300, 400 tournament boats 2-3 days per week during the spawn probably wasn't in my best interest to improve my future to catch more fish. Mentioning the idea of helping a fishery become stronger is considered taboo...... my original comment: I'd like to see the Corp and MDC put a hold on tournaments through the month of April every other year. At the least make it a three fish limit........guessing money won't let that happen. Instead, lets not try and find common ground or lets not consider out of the box ways to strengthen the limited resource we have in Tablerock. Hold tournaments for four weeks EVERY OTHER YEAR or put a three fish limit on fishermen EVERY OTHER YEAR....nope won't hear of it. That's way too extreme. 15 yrs ago I bought a pontoon for the sole purpose of placing brush piles and rock piles to help me catch (and release) more fish. I'm well over 200 brush piles on three arms of TR. Makes one wonder how many would want to take the time to help us 'has beens' make the fishery better with brush at the least every other year.
