  1. Never mind johndarin. My phone wasn't letting me go back to read your original report. Restarted it and read your report. Thanks for their good info. And good fishing.
  2. Hey guys I don't get much time to do much crappie fishing. Can you give some pointers on what your using, how deep are you fishing, how deep of water are they suspended in, and what are you fishing with? Thanks a bunch. Hope you don't mind me asking.
  3. Good job Alex. I wish I would have had my boat in our slip already. So I could have gotten some fishing in yesterday (02-28-15) but I didn't, and wasn't going to risk putting in and not getting out. Here was how my day went... Drove down Friday night from Union Mo. Typically a 4 hour drive. We hit snow at about Branson. Slowed down my driving which made it a five hour trip. Not too baf. Once I got to hwy jj off 86 the road hadn't been touched. Knowing that a giant hill at our subdivision was awaiting our arrival, I wasn't going to take that challenge. I called a neighbor in the subdivision and waited for him to call me back once they hill was cleared of snow and a motor vehicle accident. I got the call and drove on in. Woke up the next morning and the snow hadn't stopped. Reluctantly we had to face the cold hard facts that we weren't going to get to fish. So...we ate breakfast and drove home. The four hour drive turned into a ten hour drive. Pulling the boat 35 miles per hour all the way home and sitting in traffic for 3.5 hours because of a motor vehicle accident wasn't thee most exciting time. Good thing is we made it home safely. My prayers go out to those involved in their accident.
  4. Bluff bassin go to Pete's Web site www.hookedonbass.com....On the home page, scroll down while looking on the right side of the page. You will see lake regattas. Enter there and you will be able to look at bulls shoals lake as well. Good luck.
  5. Good luck Ken! Be careful traveling and enjoy the fishing!
  6. Hey guys and gals. I'm heading down this weekend. Any reports to give me an idea of what to do? Just curious. I hope I can put something together and give a good report back. I think the fish were starting to move up a little shallower. Not exactly sure the weather you guys are experiencing. Did they stay shallow (10 to 20 feet) or do I need to be looking 25 to 50 foot? Thanks guys I appreciate all the help I can get. A special Thanks to all the local guys that are so often so willing to help. I greatly appreciate it and love reading it...even if I'm not coming down. Thanks again. (Can't say it enough)

  8. Ken, I just wanted to say thank you for supporting law enforcement by making everyone aware of this fund raiser. I challenge everyone on this forum to spread the word both on the forum and to your friends who are not members to help Officer Pearson and his family by purchasing a raffle ticket(s) yourself as well as encouraging others to do the same. Thanks again Ken!
  9. I don't know the lake at all to make a decision who it best sets up for. BUT.....If it's a deep bite martens will do well,if it's a stick bite McClelland has it,jig bite, you know Hackney is the man with the jig. They are all a great group of guys I'll enjoy watching it anyway. I always watch it after everybody else. Not by choice but I can't ever find it on the tube. Does anyone know when it will be aired. Or how can I keep up with it real time if that is possible. (Without going there obviously) maybe this was already said but too many reads to try and catch up on. I'm just getting off work so I need to get some shut eye. Thanks guys.
  10. Ok. I will start this out by saying if you have the jointed red fins I'll buy them if you don't like them. They are a fabulous table rock lake bite. I have fished them a lot and during spring and summer I will ALWAYS have one tied on and sitting on the front deck. They are an awesome morning wake bait. Some advice I will offer and I'm sure others can add to this are:you have to use monofilament line. I use 10lb. I always replace both hooks. I can't remember the size but I'm sure someone can answer that, as most everybody I know does the same modifications. The back hook needs to be replaced with a feathered hook. I also replace the split ring to a smaller wire. It's about the same size in terms of the overall circumference, but the wire thickness is thinner. As far as the diving you complain of, it's probably because you are reeling too fast. Slow down, the speed that you are looking for creates a small "V-shaped wake" behind the lure. Allow the fish to load up and then just do a dragging hook sweep to bury the hook and enjoy the pictures of the fish you just caught. If you are a table rock guy at all, you have certainly heard of this bait and most all will have them tied on just as I do. Another thing to remember...once the chop gets on the water, for the most part "at least my experience is" a wake bait isn't the best choice. It messes with its action. Places to throw it can be any time you see the fish boiling/feeding. Throw it just beyond it and reel slowly through them. Or over submerged tree tops. Don't fall victim to the early hook set. Let'em load up. Great topic as this is again one of my favorite bites that I look forward to. Good luck and enjoy! Hope this helps.
  11. Weekend warrior. Just curious. Did you have z-man mixed in with other manufactures soft baits? If so that is a NO NO! they have some sort of chemical which causes this reaction. I learned the hard way. I didn't know why mine melted as I have never had this happen to me before, knowing they had gone through such extreme heat before. Then I read an article in my BASS magazine.perhaps this is what happen to you.
  12. Thanks guys. I appreciate everything.
  13. Hey guys/gals, I am looking for some expert tutorial on 859 CI HD DI combo Humminbird units. My first question is regarding the significance of the 83 kHz. What/when do you use it for? Should I really have it? What frequencies should I be using when drop shotting to be able to watch my lure drop and the fish react? When cruising, what or how should I set my unit up for best results? What Beams or frequencies should I set it on? All of this being said...can you speak in simple terms haha. I'm still kind of new to the advance technology with the high end units. Thanks for your help guys. It's very much appreciated.
  14. There is a guy just outside of Union Missouri. CK sewing. Does a nice job that I have seen. Not real sure about his prices. I'm sure he is worth looking at. Also there is one in Washington on hwy 47. Can't remember the name but I am sure you can call chamber of commerce to get it. Good luck!
  15. My wife saw KVD at the Springfield store while we were there. She said he was shooting a commercial in the kayak area . I was there to buy a humminbird. I expected them to tell me I would have to either pay for it there or they would have to take it up front for me. But I asked any way. The guy at the sonar area said. That morning they "were" letting people take it with them as they had more shopping to do. He said that morning they had three guys come back and ask for one. He said when they gave it to them they took off running with it in the attempt to steal it. I couldn't believe it! He said they were all three caught. They weren't together, it was all separate occasions.
  16. Great job Alex. I think I need to invest in some crawlers.
  17. Ok. My Sunday fishing is over. "Thank God" I was only able to fish a couple of hours and no fish for me. My buddy did catch one Kentucky on a grub. I wish I had more to offer. Sorry.
  18. Thanks J-Doc.
  19. Hi guys. I got to go out today on table rock. I didn't get started until 11 or so. Don't laugh.... but I only caught 5. All kentuckies. I sat in 30 fow and caught in 20 fow. Chunk rock banks. What I did learn and see today while just "trolling along the bank" is,there were several (said excitedly) up on the bank! Maybe four feet of water. I observed all of these shallow water fish within my last 15 mins before I got off the water. I am going back out tomorrow morning. I'll start with swimming a grub or a rig along bluff walls and move to shallower water around 1 or so. Good luck to everybody. Lower lake 45 to 46 degree water. Good luck tomorrow.
  20. I enjoy watching/listening to Stacy king also. Especially since he is a table rock guy. However...I didn't know he was sick. What was wrong with him? I know this is probably old news. I guess I'm "out of the loop."
  21. Fair enough Champ. I hope I will be able to make it. I'm looking forward to meeting a lot of great guys. That being said, I guess my name can be put in the hat of "those attending." See ya there.
  22. If the a-rig is not allowed then that is okay and I certainly wouldn't or don't have a problem with that decision. But come on Champ, to say it creates an "unlevel playing field" is simply not the case. Everyone has the same opportunity as the next person to go buy one. I don't live on a lake. In fact, I live approximately 3 hours from the closest lake. Thus not giving me as much experience as those who are so fortunate to use them more frequently than I. However, since fishing is a passion of mine I choose to research tips and techniques of new tackle. I read magazines, watch you tube or join forums. Everyone has the same opportunity to exercise this privilege. If it was that only certain people were going to be able to use them, and others fishing the same tournament were not...then yes, that creates the "unlevel playing field" you mentioned. I am all for not allowing the a-rig as it doesn't take an avid fisherman using them to catch fish. Even the most unexperienced, as long as you can cast them, should be able to catch fish with it. Again I don't have a problem with getting to use it or not. Thanks guys. Good luck to everyone it should be a great time.
  23. I would like to see some pics of the compartments/storage.
  24. I love watching fishing university. Great show! I'm glad you said something about it. I got a new dvr and lost all my fishing shows. I'm gonna schedule it now. I ran into Charlie Ingram at the rock one day. Nice guy.
  25. Hunter awesome boat! I was recently looking at a used charger. Great boats! I have not ridden in a charger but I have heard that champion is a very similar hull design. Both of which ride extremely well. I now have a champion which I can now say first hand they ride very smooth! Mines not a new one though. I do wish I had the storage chargers have.
