  1. Thanks for sharing Fishingwrench. I dont have ffs but interesting to see how deep they were and jigs and colors.
  2. Thanks boys! Appreciate your input here greatly. With all the rain down that way Stockton might be the lake to fish. Wont be a muddy mess in the dam area. I thought the bottom bouncers were more of a summer deal but i guess not. I'll probably try and troll some cranks to see if any walleyes are actively chasing. Maybe pick up a crappie here and there. Maybe drift a jig with a crawler if the wind is right. Once again, thanks to you boys!
  3. Anybody catching any crappie down at Truman? I got a place over at Pomme and thought i might come down this week and head over to Truman and try for some crappie. Any info is greatly appreciated.
  4. Thanks Ryan. Appreciate your input very much. So I assume you believe that walleye do spawn at Stockton? I've heard they need moving water and a certain amount of silt. And this is why mdc stocks walleye in Stockton. But what do i know? I may head that way early next week and give it a shot. Looks like the winds are dying down a little bit.
  5. Any walleye fishermen at Stockton willing to share some advice? I fish for walleye quite a bit at Stockton but never this early in the year. Mostly starting in June when the walleyes have moved onto the flats and the points. I troll cranks, use bottom bouncers and drift a jig and crawler if the wind is right. I know there is a debate if walleye spawn in Stockton or not but that they do go thru the process. I've heard rumors they are catching some walleye up here at Smithville on the dam at night. I havent been. Fishing at night not my thing. Anyway any advice would be greatly appreciated. Been waiting for these freaking winds to die down so i can get out and fish!! Thanks.
  6. Sad to say but when money is involved you cant trust anyone. These 4 man scramble golf events are the worst. Lot of cheaters! We need some old west justice on this guy. Hang him!!
  7. Great post Bill. Dont give up the fight. I can respect everybody's opinion on this topic but i sure give more credence to a man that has spent most of his life fishing and guiding on this lake. All i know is that i catch more big spots on Table Rock than any of the other lakes.
  8. I just want to throw a thank you out to Phil and his staff. I was down at Tanneycomo over the weekend in a low key tournament. We stay at Trout Hollow. This is our 48th year. On saturday one of our anglers caught a 6 lb 6 oz brown trout. He wanted to make sure that beautiful fish survived. But his livewell was froze up. You boys at Jigfest know how cold it was!! He was close to Lilly's so he boated over there. The staff let him use their holding tank until our tournament director showed up to weigh the fish. Then the fish was released to fight another day. Thank you Phil and your staff.
  9. Happy birthday Bill Babler!! I think I can say for all of us that we have truly appreciated all the info you have been willing to share with us on this website. Hope you have a great day! And keep that info coming!!
  10. Boys I cant thank you enough. I sincerely appreciate all of your input here. I love checking out the fishing reports on this website. Mostly Pomme, Stockton and Table Rock. In a world filled with turmoil and hate its good to know there is still good people out there. Once again thanks to all you guys that took the time to help me out.
  11. Question for you trout boys. I'll be coming down to Tanneycomo next week to do a little trout fishing. I've read Phil's fishing reports sometimes and he recommended 2 lb line for jig fishing. I cant find any 2 lb line. I was on Tacklewarehouse and i looked in Bass Pro. Couldnt find any. Most start at 4 lb. Any of you boys got any advice? Mono? Floro? Brand? I sincerely appreciate any advice here. All catch and release.
  12. Bill: great post. Every year i take my son with me up to Canada. Since he was about 14. He's 25 now. And there is absolutely nothing better than fishing with him and watching him catch walleyes all day long. I wouldnt trade it for anything!! Its priceless!! Happy birthday Quillback!! I'd be happy to fish that tournament with you sometime.
  13. Happy Birthday RPS!! I dont know you real well Randy but I always enjoyed talking to you at the OA tournament. You were more than willing to give out advice on the walleye fishing at TR. And you share info on this website regularly. Have a great day!!
  14. Thanks for the report Bill. Not much on here lately. I been wanting to come down but just been too hot for me. I hope you wear that MU hat proudly down there around all those Razorback fans! MU back to back double digit win seasons but not ranked in the preseason top 25. 7.5 on the over/under win total. No respect!! I may have to put some coin on that win total!! Good luck on the James and let us know how you do. We love your reports!!
  15. Thanks Bill for sharing. And thanks Randy for your input also. I'm 73 and too old to try and get dialed in on ffs. Its all i can do to text and take pics with my phone! I will share a story about ffs though. On our annual trip to Canada this year the walleye fishing was a little slow. By that i mean we were catching 30 apiece per day instead of around 100. There was 90 degree weather up there for a week 2 weeks prior then it went to 20 degrees the week before we went. Blue bird days for us. I got a younger buddy that goes and he had ffs. We ususally just toss a jig and minnow combination out. My buddy went to a slip bobber technique. He would watch those walleyes on his screen come up to the jig and minnow and swim off. He was killing them on his slip bobber. Those suckers wanted that minnow suspended up off the bottom! He outfished us 3 to 1!!
  16. Question for you Bill if you dont mind: In your post you said you were you using 3/4 oz bottom bouncers. Was that 3 oz and 4oz? Or 3/4 oz? I'm pretty new to the bottom bouncing technique. I've been told you need a 1 oz bottom bouncer for every 10 ft of water. 3/4 oz seems pretty light unless you are in shallow water i guess. As always, I and everyone else on here appreciate your posts Bill. Thanks for the info you are willing to share. Walleye guys, like mushroom hunters, can be kinda secretive about giving up any info. Notice not many posts on Stockton about walleyes.
  17. Boys i cant thank you enough for the information. Ask and you shall receive. And even got one fishing report. Nice. The Pomme reports on here are few and far between posts. Once again. Thanks.
  18. Might come down early next week. Any of you Pomme boys got any info for me? Lake level? Color? Water temp? Any info much appreciated.
  19. I fished Stockton tuesday for about 4 hrs. Fished mainlake for smallies. There was a lot of floating algae. And if you fished on the bottom in less than 15 fow you were in a lot of rock snot. Is the lake turning over? Is this an annual ordeal? Just this part of the lake? Any info appreciated.
  20. We could use more of this kind of justice today!! Whiskey for me beer for my horses!!
  21. Thanks for the report Toby. Not much discussion on Stockton lake on this website. Appreciate your report.
  22. Thanks Dutch and Ranger. Much appreciated. So not too bad.
  23. Hey if possible could someone from the Pomme area tell me how much rain you got and the lake level? Would be much appreciated. I may come down this week and try to fish a little bit. Thank you very much.
  24. Thanks boys. She might have been over 6 lbs. She was fat!! I was guessing around 6 lbs based off the length, 21 inches. I was up at LOZ crappie fishing the next day and a bass guy came by me. We were talking about it and he claimed there was a tournament at Pomme lately with 2 9 lbers weighed in. Claimed there was a lot of big basss in Pomme.
  25. Caught a nice bass tuesday afternoon down at Pomme. 21 inches, 6 lb guestimate.
