  1. 😜....i've been found out. i have BBQ Guru Party Q / blower that monitors the temp and adds air as needed to keep it in the sweet spot. I'm guilty of using it as an excuse
  2. I'll have my boat. I was just thinking I could hop on and off to check on the pork if someone else was fishing this stretch. Not sure when mike is coming down, but he can captain my boat if he is here. I'll figure something out. Cooking pork typically involves beer or spirits so i dont want to really play captain that day
  3. Im willing to do the pulled pork for Thursday night. I will just plan to fish from the bank all day and check on the progress... If someone decides to fish that stretch of the river and has an extra seat and would be willing to taxi me on occasion while passing by on a run, that would be awesome otherwise I'm sure I can keep myself busy practicing spey casting from the rock bank below the cabin. Eric
  4. Let me know if you need a second one. I have one at my place also.
  5. Bringing my 23in Weber kettle so if someone wants to contribute some ribs I can smoke them. Plenty of room! Have a rib rack that can hold 5-6 full racks along with a few Butts - BTW thats over 50lbs of Butt. A Butt Load 😁
  6. Coming...But will stay at my place so no lodging for me. Let me know when you decide on starting the food thread.. Put me down for Pulled Pork. Probably just 7lbs of Boston Butt seeing how we always have a ton of other stuff. - Maybe 14 or 20 let me know!
  7. If I’m not mistaken when I was there, not this past week but in late spring, I shot behind that island at Rim on min flow with Griz and Rob. Puckered the whole way but passable. Didn’t pucker near as much being a passenger with Ham going behind that little island coming upstream at the bottom of the C&R in Norfork....that was shallow 😳
  8. I'm good for any of those dates. Plan to be down in Oct/Nov as well.
  9. Yeah I remember.. that Walleye got your finger pretty good!
  10. Well...I guess you just need to set the bar higher and catch a White River SlamSicle! I'm coming down at the end of the month in September. Lets fish! Eric BTW - I am trademarking the White River SlamSicle, just in case you get any ideas!
  11. Hey Dude! CONGRATS!!!!! I'd never hold anything over your head. I'm assuming I'm the Eric P you are mentioning (I'm the only one I know )....... Seriously. You are the trout whisperer and its always a pleasure to get a chance to fish with you! Great Job Man!!!! BTW I did not know that you had never gotten a Grand Slam...Truth. I was caught up in the moment that you guiding and me and Rob both got Slams same day and you were one brown shy of a Slam yourself...That would have been EPIC to get three slams same boat same day! Kudos.
  12. I have gutters I want to get installed on my shop. Anyone have any references they care to share. My place is in Mountain Home.
  13. That makes me feel better. I have seen this and ones without the prehistoric stegosaurus ridge all around the building while cleaning up some tree work! Thanks. found this on the wheel bug and its a dead match... The Wheel Bug has some of the best-developed mouthparts of any True Bug. Its formidable beak (below left) arises at the anterior end of its long tubular head and unfolds forward. When it encounters a prey item--usually some adult insect or caterpillar--it typically lunges forward in its own slow way, grabs onto the prey with its front legs, and buries its hypodermic beak into some soft body part of the hapless prey. The Wheel Bug then injects enzyme-laden saliva--which immobilizes the prey within 30 seconds and turns its parts into porridge--after which the predatory bug sucks out all the victim's bodily fluids. This activity, of course, kills the prey item, which is why the Wheel Bug is classified in the Reduviidae--the Assassin Bug Family. It's worth noting that Wheel Bugs aren't all that particular about where they stick their beaks--which is fair warning that humans should use appropriate care when handling one. Some folk have allergic reactions to the bite, while others simply say a Wheel Bug nibble hurts ten times more than a hornet sting and takes weeks or months to heal.
  14. That stinks! I hear its there feces that causes the organ damage. Did you get treatment? Yes, Assassin Bugs Do Bite Importantly, these bugs bite. Assassin bugs like hanging out near their prey— mammals (including humans) with vertebrae—from which they can suck blood. Word on the street is that they like to bite repeatedly near your eyes and mouth (hence the kissing bug moniker), which will cause bite marks, redness and swelling to appear. … and Spread Disease Their feces can also spread the parasite that causes Chagas disease, a disorder that does damage to major organs and can be fatal if left untreated.
  15. just molted. This was a little over a month ago when I came down to the new place and did some cleanup around the place.
  16. Look at this beauty! I saw this when cleaning up around the new place. I thought it was a Kissing Bug/ Assassin Bug and think I have it confirmed as such. He/she is going the way of the cellar spiders. Coming down in Sept and plan to have the place sprayed.
  17. How would you know???? Oh I forgot... Twinkie Zone Master!
  18. I love microfiber Denali shirts from Amazon. Just bought 2 hoodies and 5 non hoodies. Reasonable price. I was given a couple shirts by Lowell when I bought my TopWater and one of the shirts was a Denali microfiber nylon. Loved it so much because I am a prolific sweater.... these wick well and dry extremely fast and the best fit I have ever had and they have some UV protection. I'm 6'1 and the XL fit nice for my size. Loose and comfortable. non hoodie https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01C4LJNYG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1 hoodie https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07B3XXCWM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  19. Moved my Mom up from Florida in early march, so I have been taking care of her the past few months getting her comfortable at home. That and work has left me with a serious case of withdraw for the tail waters. Heading down June 27th to check on the new place and hit the river for a couple days. If anyone is around and want to meet up to fish, drink a beer, shoot the bull, etc., Rob and I will both be there. Eric
  20. Looks like a great time! Hows the water????? .....high? looks like it! Hoping to get down end of June or July sometime to work on the new place. Have not had much time this year as we moved my Mom in with us to take care of her.
  21. Stinks, but Im gonna miss the Jigfest reboot. unfortunately I just found out I wont get back from Oregon until the 1st.
  22. Happy New Year Ham! And all my fishing brethren on the forum! Congrats on the opening salvo!!!! Eric
  23. I hear ya! Im not out there for looks.. I have a face for radio. But I do love to fish and this is the first set of prescription sunglasses I have ever bought in my 52 years on the big blue marble. I would have never even thought of spending this kind of money but It was a use it or lose it scenario. I need to write my congressman and push them to extend the allowable purchases on a Medical Savings Account to cover fishing addiction. I could have come up with several other ways to spend that money!
  24. None of the Vision stores here that sell sunglasses (Lenscrafters and Pearl) carried the Costa's (So I tried them on at Scheels next door) Neither of the vision stores would guarantee the frame bought elswhere. If there was a problem and the frame got damaged or broken when putting in the lenses I would be out of luck. But the fact that the comfort level of the MJ's felt so much better on me it was an easy decision to just get the MJ's at Pearl with my other prescription glasses. I did get the Bronze/Amber lens, UV400.
