  1. remove spark plug wire. remove spark plug. screw in compression test guage into spark plug hole. turn engine over for a few seconds. look at guage to see what compression is. Repeat for each cyclinder. Write down compression after each test to compare. Test each cyclinder twice, one after another without removing guage from each.
  2. carb clean, possible rebuild would be where i would start, since it has sat so long.

  9. Hey Jim, I threw a Wart the past 2 wknds on Stockton and not a bite. This past sunday I tied on a Strike King spinner bait for the first time this year, and nothing. All of my fish are coming off of a H2O crank, white/clear. Hitting up Pomme in the morning, and will try my spots that i know will produce, and see whats new there.

  20. Hey everyone, I just want to take a minute and brag a little on Pro Tournament Scales as a business. I ordered the unit on monday, late in the day, and explained to them that our first tournament is this saturday. They said they would try to get the unit programmed, packaged, and shipped this week, and he would try to get it here by Thursday. He stated that it would depend on the shipping company, and how fast they operate. I just got home and the unit was on the front door. Literally less than 48 hours after I ordered it. Now time to get aquainted with it. Everyone says this unit is very user friendly. If any of you ever know of anyone looking for a tournament grade scale, do them a favor and have them look into Pro Tournament Scales. I have heard great stuff about their customer service. and now I can brag first hand.
  21. good read. Its those tough days that make the easy ones feel really easy. Wounds are licked, so now get pumped for the next one. You got this.
  22. Good read Jim. Im like most of the folks on this site, we love to fish, and to get info on a specific area prior to going out, makes the potential of catching fish that much sweeter. I give info, sometimes to specific I guess, because ive gotten PM's saying so, but my way of thinking is if im helping a dad thats planning to take his kids, and they actually catch fish from my information, then that puts a smile on my face. There are alot of contributors here, and those that just read. Either way is the correct way, as we need posters and readers. I enjoy reading posts of areas I fish, especially if its shortly after where i may have just fished, to see if i was on or off on my lure selection. As far as what ive learned on here, well not much. I still fish the way I have for years. I just like to read, post, and fish.
  23. Good luck. Looks like its going to come and go, with an afternoon shower thats got potential for being nasty.
  24. Yes they are fun to catch Jim. I lost 2 hogs that were stronger than my new 4lb test line. Caught every fish, including bass on that line and crappie rod. Couldnt get them to bite the 8lb line with bass rigs. They wNted very small baits. Thanks 5... Caught first fish on second cast of the day. They were pretty active on that single stretch of shoreline. Friday looks to only be 45 for a high, so they may back off some.
