I'm one of those rare guys, that speed matters. I had a 300EX 4 wheeler and after a few trips to the dunes, it was like riding a turtle, so I got a 400EX, and again, that was to slow. Last year I bought a new Kawasaki 450 4 wheeler, and had about $2000 worth to make it faster. My Harley Heritage Softail wasn't enough. So I had Denneys Harley put aftermarket exhaust. Tuner, etc. to make it louder and faster. Same with my dirt bikes, trucks, boats,etc. I have always lived on the edge, and its what excites me. I've had boats that would only go 40, and get bored after owning them a week. My current boat will do mid 60's and I wish it would do mid 70's. Just something about speed for me. My brother has a 1963 Chevy short wide bed truck that does the 1/4 in 9.02, and he drives it on the street. He's now trying to get it in the 8 second class. Must run in the family.

On the BBC in the Xpress boat forum, Bob has a youtube video of his X19 "which i have" running 87 gps. not too many glass boats will run that speed. The express boats have a pad hull which makes them a different beast. It's funny in that video it's during a tournament take off and several glass boats take off first and as the video progresses you see him passing one after the other. Pretty cool stuff for us aluminum boat guys

Thanks for the kind words Trophy. You are right in that the guys here are true gentlemen. Im honored to be able to help every now and again, youngsters that need it. Thanks for the great deals on the combos. In all walks of life, there are those that poke their chests out more than needed, and those arm chair fishermen over there do just that. If being banned is a rarity, then i guess im one in an uncrowded group. Ol' Wrench and i, along with Champ may just have to make that group less uncrowded. "Ketchup's Back". Champ, something you might want to know about me, I've never backed down from a challenge. lol It just tickled me that the PM I received, without knowing the rules "my bad" said that all of my posts had been deleted without warning, and that if I commented again without my full name in my profile, then I would be banned. So at that point I took it upon myself, to post it where others could see. I'm not much for hiding behind a computer. Sucks for the other members there, because they will never have the chance to meet someone as cool, handsome, funny, that catches 10 pounders every outing, like myself. " ok erase that last line, as I'm no longer a BBC member so I can leave the BS at the door".

What gets me is, as much as they talk, I never hear them talk about catching fish. It's always their 2002 Merc. 200 with a 30 pitch prop does 98 mph in 6' rollers in summer water heat. Their proud of their speed boats tho. Maybe we can invite them to actually fish against some of us since they are having a get together on Bull Shoals next month I believe. I gotta be careful with my wording because there are guys on here that may go to that, and I don't want them thinking I'm talking about them. From what I've seen over there, it's a small few "mostly mods" that can't stand guys with their own opinions. Guess if I really want to make them smile, I can sign up under a different name. Let's see if I can set a "banned" speed record.

I'm glad Phil doesn't make this his life priority in making sure we all follow his way of life, or get banned one. I just find it silly to go to that extreme. I have a buddy, a state trooper up north that disagreed with one of the regulars over there on how fast his boat went with his setup. And after his 3rd comment, he got the same lashings as I did. The "banned" treatment. I'm a prankster, and take VERY few things in life seriously. This one here is one I will giggle about all year.

Guess those over at that other place didnt like me questioning their rules. No warning, just a stern PM from Ol' Wags over there. Pissed them off when i told them to delete me instead of threatning it. My wife got a chuckle out of it. I found it funny as ive heard for the past few years from guys that used to frequent there, that the mods are heavy handed. I have gotten a few PM's on here from members asking if i was banned. My answer is that ive never been banned from anything. I go out of my way to help others, would give the shirt off my back for someone in need, help out with donating gear for youth that cant afford it "spent $160.00 yesterday to a fellow member here to donate to a youth group", and always trying to do the right thing. So it made my wife laugh to see someone ban me from something. To each their own i guess.

Sounds like a productive trip to me Donna. I made a trip down to meet another OA member at Cabelas to pick up a few items I purchased. Seen a few boats being trailered, so nice to see people out. I thought it was pretty decent weather today. Looks like it will get better as the week goes on. We have had a nice winter tho, so no complaints from myself.
