  1. What a really nice detailed report. Thanks so much. The Stockton lake guys do a great job sharing so others can have success also..

    Rough Day

Rough day today. Was hoping to launch at Aldrich but the ramp is under water and I didn't want to launch in the wet gravel with my two wheel drive pickup. We saw several vehicles at the Sac on 215, so I was hoping to chase some whites. Went to Ruark to find just four trailers at the ramp. Wind picked up mid-morning and the cold front moved in and off the water by noon. Not a single boat left on the main lake. Most vehicles gone at the Sac on 215 on our return. Have to say the water was clearer than I expected. First time I can remember not getting a single strike on Stockton.
  3. I would love to have a Mutton Creek Marina on water service phone number since we normally launch out of Mutton North or Roark. Does anyone know if a multi-channel walkie talkie would be of any value due to the phone service in those areas?
  4. Wouldn't that be a cool app. You issue a distress call and everyone with the app would get an alert. Anyone on the lake at the time could respond. Maybe there is someone out there that could make this happen and release it for all the lakes.
  5. May be a question that has been answered before but I was wondering if there is an On Water Service for boats experiencing mechanical problems while on the lake. I know I have pulled others back to the marina myself but there are times when another boat may not be able to respond. Is there is a service available? If so, I would like to have the number stored in my phone. Would a 911 call get assistance while on the lake? Of course the next problem is ATT phone reception around Roark.
  6. I would not use the scoop-able or clump-able kitty litter that is popular now. Trust me, some of these dissolve into a slimy clump and will make things worse. Kinda like putting oil on ice. I would use sand instead unless you have a know litter that works. I know people that carried litter in their car for years for emergencies to learn this lesson the hard way.
  7. That's what is so great about this forum. Tons of valuable experience and a willingness to help others. Thanks, I can't wait to try these ideas.
  8. I have fished Stockton frequently for some years but have not tried trolling crank baits. I was wondering if any one would share there technique to get the lure down to the desired depth. It seems most of my baits only travel to about 8 feet and most fish seem to be deeper during these hot months. I have read a few articles on the subject but just wanted a method you prefer on Stockton. Any other advice on how to minimize crank bait hang ups while trolling would also be appreciated.
  9. My buddy put a jigging spoon in the back of my head above the hairline a couple of months ago. Went to Cox Urgent Care and the bill was $885 for the 10 minute removal with a pair of needle nose pliers! They just pushed the barb back through and cut it off.
  10. Nice catch! Would you mind reveling how deep you found them? I'm planning on going there tomorrow.
