Went to a high water spot of mine with a good friend today for 3 hours , after a little hike we were staring at clear water and endless fishy spots. At the first deep hole , i could cast out my white doll fly and watch numerous smaller bass tick and pop it , i Had a laugh after i caught a 5 inch drum if that, i could not believe it got hooked. A cast or two later i hauled in this specimen. Hit as the doll fly slowly floated to bottom, continued down the next couple fishy spots to where my friend had trekked, he caught 4 smallies 10 - 12 inch range) and and 2spots slightly bigger at the spot we were getting into them the water was too deep for our waders so we were on a embankment fishing above a deep hole, i was jigging a luminescent grub when i got a substantial strike i brought a quality smallie up to the surface but diddnt get it up the embankment sadly. would have put the one below to shame. Another laugh i had was when i had a smallie hit me during a time of inattention, it took the grub at me jumped out of the water , which grasped my attention , i then realized the just jumped fish was hooked on my lure. i failed to land that fish also. All in All a good day of fishing .

Give or take 3 weeks ago i was fortunate enough to catch a largemouth , spotted bass, catfish , drum . All on the same orange and black beetle spin with out the spinner. I waded a couple different spots around eureka and wildwood. i fished outside bends, eddies , rip rap banks. the cat was along a downed log in an eddy with a rip rap bank , thought it was smallie. the large mouth was smaller and i was surrounded by water i felt no need to take my phone out. more recent report Got out with a buddy today below the 44 bridge water looked really nice i expected a touch murkier , he caught a drum and small spot in an eddie on a crank and i managed a pretty smallie 13 or14 inches it gave a wonderful jump and head shake action acting as if he was a bruiser, really healthy fish sitting right in the creek mouth , caught on a luminescent mister twister plastic on a green jig head, in a couple years i like to think that fish will gets someones heart racing real good. went to another spot and cruising the bank i could smell dead fish later found someone had a killer outing on some nice spots 10 or 11 filleted then scavenged carcasses some really good sized too. Thoughts on Crappie on this section of the mac? as ive seen 2 separate fishermen on different days catch decent size crappie in a spot where i have never caught or seen one caught in around 5 or 6 years of frequenting that spot.

nice thatsa true monster,i have no doubt the mac grows some beautiful fish especially with some of the bronze beasts i have been seeing on here. i carry tape on the canoe but not wading or shore fishing i think im gonna start .

So happened its his birthday today so that was a perfect early present for a good guy.. It took about a minute of fighting to land it, he had his drag set just right so it was a smooth ride, though it was hooked precariously easily could've gotten off . This happened near the allenton boat ramp i dont really know of any lakes floodable near their. It was a rush to see a fish like that either way , i like to believe it was a true river specimen.

DId some bank fishing with a friend round eureka yesterday, started off fast with some small spots and drum coming out of eddies. water color still had the nice green tint with a bit of cloudiness. fished multiple colored jigs, spinnerbaits , road runners . Nearing the end of the time we had to mess around my friend says "holy shooot something massive just hit my bait" he was using a ultralight with 4 pound tess and a pink road runner. struck in around 3 fooot of water , biggest largemouth ive seen in person on the meremac

ive caught 2, 17 inch smallies by wabash and a small sauger and a 20 inch walleye . good to hear their still around their i havent had one in a while

so that first one is a smallie x spotted ? i kinda thought it had those perpendicular lines but it stilll had smallie features also. lol yea i need to get a better reel to go with that rod it hasnt given me much trouble as of yet other then looking a little mismatched.

caught on original minnow color rapala on consecutive casts, heard a bigger one feeding under a large flooded root ball. had action from small spotted bass and could see larger ones in the school but they were finicky in the clear water, the river was backed up just enough into the creek to make it good fishing, was only their 3 hours prolly caught 6 spots a 12 inch small mouth and 2 sunfish plus those decent ones that went right back into the water after these pics . hot day cool water shade and good fishing caught on july 10 i think

i go night fishing often at asmall lake near me when its hot and sunny al day. and their is a thrilling story to go with it i belive i encountered a mountain lion on the walk their< now i live in missouri but have expericened night encounters with large deer raccon bobacat fox . but never did any of those feel of this one. i am walking up the road to get their and my tackle box is against my hip and im just walking up their as usual its about half a mile walk. when alonng a fence line that seperates two peoples large feilds i saw a large figure gracefully and like no animal ive ever seen get up from a crounch and quickly and silenly turn the corner of the fence i was instantly like wtf waas that im equipped with a small flash light very small lol i get on the edge of the road and proper angle on wheir it went start shinng my light towards the opening in the gap and i saw 2 yellowish greenish eyes that and i sat their in a staredown gently iluuminating the whole figure which i cudnt make out except i got the feeling it was sitting like in a cat like posture i stared in amazement for a min evenn stomping and makin noises to try and flea whatever it was at this point i wasnt sure what it was and the storys not over i shook it off and said im freaking myself out and make the way to the lake. i tried to fish for like 10 mins but had uneasy and paranoid thoughts its 2am i decide to go back i get al call from my cousin who i had called much earliar and thats likegodsent cuz i can communicate my fear and he says that thats no joke u shud get a rock of something to throw in case it was something dangerous. takin his advie and still on the phone and with 2 rods in my hand i started down not a min into the walk downhill i saw it before it saw me as i was up hill and in tree cover as it was along the grassy side of a the road and out of reaction i threw the rock at it causing noise from my tackle and rods it looked up not noticing the rock i threw just my noise and it took of with such power across the road and into the woods thats when i was sure it was a mountain lion i listened to it trudge into the woods for 2 seconds then sprinted the rest ofthe way yelling ahhhh ahhhh still on the phone with my cousin an i should put this earliar in the story but months proviously i had heard an attack at the lakes water front from acroos is sounded like a deer that was drinking being ambushed then dragged outa the water let me know what u think theirs houses around but its an area with 60 square miles of woods 30 mins from missouririver
