  1. I'm sure most have a favorite way of catching bass that includes the "bite", or does it ? The traditional bite seems to be a couple of thumps on the bait, or perhaps a small 'tick" on the line. Another bite is a "pressure" bite that yeilds no bite persay, only a stretching of your line until it becomes so taunt that you think your stuck on the bottom. Now comes my favorite bite, the bite that has no thump, no tick, no pressure. It's the bite that happens when your lure is falling and the fish inhales it leaving your line totally weighless and limp. It's as though someone had cut your lure off. I must be paying a lot more attention to my lure as it enters the water because this year I have caught way more fish on the fall then then traditional thump, tick and pressure bites. Even when I'm hopping a jig on the bottom I'm getting those weighless bites. I don't know why it gets me so excited to catch bass like that, but it does. For what it's worth, 100% of those bass caught that have inhaled it, have been quality 4 and 5 pound bass. I haven't caught a short bass yet with that "bite" So whats your favorite "bite"
  2. Billy, nice choice of graphs. You can't go wrong with either one of those units, very very nice units indeed.
  3. I'd like to thank the original poster of this thread for two reasons. 1) making me aware of the thefts occuring on table rock. 2) making me aware that I will be shot fishing at night. I will no longer fish table rock after sunset, or attend any of the night tournaments on table rock lake.
  4. 200.....unless you're an avid ocean fisherman, then go with 50/200 What Lowrance unit are you looking at, or what's your budget for a graph ?
  5. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr....I tried to tune in today at 5:30 to listen to the program again since I enjoyed listening to it the last two weeks, but all I recieved was the baseball game on 1400am Anyway, thanks for taking the time to post your report....very detailed report I must say.
  6. Update for Mill Creek out of Kimberly City...... Courtesy dock has been pulled up on the ramp and is now fuctional for public use. Please, if you do use the ramp to park your tow vechicle and trailer on. Please park your rig vertical to the water to allow more parking for others. When one truck with a trailer parks parallel to the water on the ramp, it takes up 10 parking spots. Thanks,
  7. Well done !...... I'm heading out tomorrow for our or five hours in the morning. Will be working the Kimberly City to Dam area. I"ll be fishing out of a white and black Champion with S&M on the back of the Mercury cowel, stop on by and say hello
  8. Well, since 99% of all bass are caught using a bass boat, I would be looking at the bass boat industry to step up to the plate with there live well designs. Here's a hint for the bass boat engineers.......I'm going to get a cold beverage from my thermostatically controlled refrigerator With today's technology, the bass boat industry could design a thermostatically controlled live well system that would increase bass survival during the summer months.
  9. LMAO....now that's Funny !!! Quick story, sitting off a bank about two cast distance out, when a jet ski cuts between me and the bank. In disbelief, I just shook my head. Then he comes back and does it again. I told my wife if he comes back and tries is one more time I'm going to cast a DD22 at him. Well he comes back for a thrid pass, and yep, he gets a DD22 thrown at him. and just my dumb luck, I hit the guy on the shoulder....the hooks set in, and I pull him right off the jet ski Long story short, I get a visit from the water patrol wanting to know why I hooked the jet skier, I just told them I made a cast and the jet skier ran into the lure cutting between me and the bank. The good news is, the water patrol got my DD22 back from the jet skier
  10. Thanks Fishing'Freak, Cool radio show, does this fishing show happen every Monday at 5:30 ? I'm amazed to here that the 10 main gates at table rock can release 1/2 million cfs, and with the aux gates open, an amazing 1 million plus cfs can be released. Another interesting point mentioned was power pool on table rock is 917 during the summer months, and 915 during the winter months. The Cor was shooting for July to get the water to 917. I'm glad that I tuned into the program, they have a new listener.
  11. I've never had a problem asking silly questions, so here is goes........... is this on AM radio?

    Mill Creek

I was hoping that the camp ground at Mill Creek would be open by at least June, that's to bad. I'm tempted to make a sign and post it at the launch ramp for those who do not understand the limited parking available for the hundreds and hundreds of boaters that use that ramp. For the past two weeks I've see guys parking there trucks with trailers parallel to the water on the ramp. This past weekend two rigs parked like that back to back taking up about 15 parking spots. People who use that ramp should park vertical to the water, this allows around 30 rigs to park on the ramp, and still maintains a good 40 foot opening for launching boats. Okay, sorry, after reading what I wrote it reads like a rant.......but it's true
  13. It could be worse, you could be a boat owner without a trailer
  14. To funny, as I was replying to you, and after I posted my reply, I went back to read it and I see that you got the downloads all done......... Well done ! I bet you see a termendous improvement.
  15. Now here is what you do step by step. 1) download the 1.9.0 LGC-2000 GPS receiver/antenna to a 1GB SD card. You must stall on your 26C first before installing the upgraded 2.1.0 version for your unit. 2) once you have downloaded the information on an SD card, all you have to do is open the SD door on you unit and install the chip. Close the door and turn on the unit. The unit will automatically download the information. 3) remove the SD card and delete the 1.9.0 version form the card. 4) download the 2.1.0 version onto the SD card, then install that SD card into your unit once again and follow the same step. Install card in unit, close door, turn on unit and it will automatically down load. remoce SD card from unit and yiour ready to go. If this is to confusing for you, I can help you by down loading the information for you, and meet you at table rock lake to install the upgrades to your unit. There is a catch though, I only have one SD card, so I would have to make two trips to the lake to get all the information installed in your unit. The ball is in your court. let me know what you would like to do. Mike,

  17. Thanks for the information on launch ramps. I think I'm going to give Eagle Rock a try this weekend.
  18. As a suggestion, and this comes from someone who has been a moderator on the largest Mopar drag racing board on the internet. I would suggest placing an important topic like this as a "sticky" or for this boards purpose, posted in the "Important Topics" for a couple of weeks of maybe even a month. Then all other topics about where to launch should just be deleted if it's causing the board grief. This is only a suggestion board owners, I would never tell you how to run your board.
  19. Thank you Capt. Don, Just trying to contribute some information to this website that you and the other contributors give time and time again.
  20. I'd like to help you, but I have a couple of questions for you so that I can help. 1) Are you using a LGC-2000 GPS receiver/antenna ? 2) What software "version # " do you have on your 26C ? You can find what software version your unit has by turning on your unit, .......press "menu twice", scroll down and press "system set up" ......scroll down and press "software information". You will see a "version #" for your unit. Please post this version #. I can tell you that there has been an updated version for the LGC-2000 reciever/antenna, with an updated version for the 26c unit itself.
  21. Nick, I take it the upper launch ramp at Aunts Creek is the one you used ? Is the courtesy dock useable for those of us who launch by themselves?
  22. You're a brave person venturing out on the main lake today How big where the white caps?. Guessing by the high 30mph gusts, I'd say at least 2 - 2-1/2 feet ?
  23. The boat ramps and courtesy docks are easy to find if you have sonar Mill Creek out of Kimberly City is still launching boats.
  24. There is clear enough water 1 to 2 feet right off off of the banks. It just happens to have bass there also looking for a meal. The dirty water color is your friend right now, throw some big baits. Spinner baits or 3/4 ounce jigs with BIG trailers. Dirty water is a prime canidate for reaction baits. Set the trolling motor on high and cover some water.
  25. That's what I'm talking about !!!........well done !
