  1. wow wow !!!!
  2. All the fishing boats in the Bible use a net. They didn't muck about with fishing rods and pro shops. It sounds like if you have line on you real you are good. I use 10 lb braid on my spinning reels with a flouro leader, I even throw a jerk bait with that set up. My uncle fishes on the deep end of the lake, and has his whole life, he uses a real nice baitcasting set up with good old 17 lb mono, and does well. I haven't tried sunline but I have heard good things about it. My leader is different depending on what I am throwing but the braid stays the same.
  3. I didn't know dinosaurs could shoot air rifles. Must be that evolution thing. BANG "look there it is"
  4. Oh ok, thank you.
  5. I hope you do well. I will try to make. The only hitch I can see is making it over to the church. Not that I care about going to church, I just wish that you could enter on the lake the day of. Yikes 2 hr registration meeting, correct?
  6. Please post some pics in of it action !
  7. I am doing something to my floor this summer. Not carpet, I hope, unless someone makes paint on carpet. I am still fretting over what to do???.
  8. I don't care about game wardens, I'm not scared. There's no fish on the north end I caught the last 2 friday.

    CC ?

That would put you in the wrong spot for sure.
  10. You are not alone. If this keep up I might have to sell my boat.......Not really.
  11. I am interested, for sure. Thank you
  12. There are still not many picture of fish on the bottom. when I fish for walleye I fish habitat and seldom ever see them on sonar. Every once in a while I will see what looks to be a fish/ stick/rock ?? Never sure. Suspended are easy to see, the guy in this cool video is fishing a food source but cannot see his target until it comes up. My son has the same unit with chirp, I will have to see if it makes a difference.
  13. Hds 8 gen 2 with sonar only in the front and a lowrance elite 7 on the dash. when I can I hope to buy the lss 2 a side scan transducer for the hds unit then move it to the dash. Here is a picture from a crappie fishing trip in July. Pic of the 7
  14. I don't know ?? It was one of those " I think I will sell my boat" days for me. here is my thinking...maybe when there is a large influx of water or a major temperature change, the fish, maybe all fish go into a shock as they adjust to changing water conditions, after their bodies adjust for a day or so, they stay on the bottom. Or the suckers feed all night in the bushes under a full moon. now they are full in the day. I think I followed the same path you did on the lake, thinking warmer water down south would yield more fish....not so.
  15. So many days fish are catatonic and just laying on the bottom ( I think ) it sure would be nice to see them and maybe if I can fish near one I could at least foul hook something. I am too tight to spend the $ for a nice one. who knows if it would really help ?
  16. I have a couple lowrance graphs the cheaper ones. My question is this...are there units out there that can separate a fish from the bottom when they are laying on the bottom ? Is there an adjustment that will give me better target separation, I do not have chirp. Thanks in advance
  17. Steve and I started out in the late morning looking for crappie, I also wanted try some new areas. After much driving and casting without out a fish, we thought that surely we could get into that full moon jerk bait action up top....Nearing night fall now we both have dislocated our shoulders and nothing, I thought, hey, I will just throw this swimbait out into the deep and drag it back to the boat, while Steve continues to throw his shoulder out of socket at the bank. Something happened as I dragged the bait over junk 30 feet or so on the bottom, crap I'm hung up, no wait it was a fish ! I sure wish I had figured this out sooner. Have you ever thought that? I know you have. I really wanted a walleye, so it was back to the stickbait a couple casts later on the second jerk wham-o a little 16 inch walleye, not the 10 lber I was looking for but I will take it. Feeling rejuvenated we both began throwing our arms off again without success, It was at least 1 hour after sunset when we bugged out. As we moved off the bank over deep water (45 feet +) we did start seeing large marks on the graph. I wonder if the night bite got better later? Good luck out there, there is always something to learn. Even though this day was REALLY tough, I spent it with a great friend, and that is good ! I am blessed ! God bless everyone on this Easter weekend !

  19. We almost had a dry run yesterday. We were late to discover the slow rolling swim bait technique, had one nice 3 to 4 lber on a swim bait and one 16 inch walleye on a jerk. It was a very tough day for Steve and I . I am thankful for your post, it helps confirm a couple things for me. Thanks
  20. Very cool !
  21. I would stay north of Mutton Creek but with the water warming, who knows?
  22. Wow nice !
  23. Wow wow!!
  24. I do the same thing haha. Good luck to you.
  25. There is nothing like having an expert crappie fisherman for a friend. We did find a few fish early in the day. This was Steve's spot so I can't tell, sorry. Water was around 55 the boys are working the bank in a few places.
