  1. Good idea, We were late getting on the lake, I think most were to drunk to drive by the time the evening bite turned on, that was fine with me. I seemed like the lake got quiet at just the right time, at least where I was.
  2. If you fish in the winter. Unhooking the boat can get dicey. A step would be good even for a fairly fleet almost 50 guy. The only bad I see, a step could get into ones vehicle.
  3. Very nice !
  4. Uh we can share way points...you first. Thank you It is a weird house here, Sandy did some schooling in Arkansas, my son at MSSU and his girl friend at Pit State. Me just a grunt/unskilled labor.
  5. We only had 1/2 a day to figure out the new location. Cranked up some spots and this nice walleye, my wife lost a monster walleye, and I tried to lift a 3 pound spot in, just as my wife was saying OH WOW, of course it got off. What a great 1/2 day though. I will be working this new place over for a while, there is plenty of bank to keep us thinking.
  6. Yeah, you know like wonder women !
  7. That is because God is good to me !
  8. Got to a late start, we didn't get on the water until 12;30. We had to eat, at least that is what I was told, ha ha. We managed a few fish trolling cranks in the heat of the day, a few bass, this 18 inch walleye, and this "huge" catfish. We caught the walleye and the catfish as a double, I sure wish he had picked the pole with the walleye on it, anyway he was proud of his fish and we had a great day.
  9. wow weird color !
  10. A couple years ago my friend Steve and I caught several large sunfish in October in 35 feet of water dragging a harness. Very near the place you and I met last. I am going to try to take my grandson there tomorrow, do you think it will be any good?
  11. I know they do on T rock, there is a definite pattern there. Find some active feeding spots and almost always the walleye are on the bottom under them. I have done it it is fun !
  12. Yep what they said. Fishing is a great pass time, as long as you are alive. Never take the lake for granted. I fish all seasons on Stockton, when in doubt just slow down. Catch a big one with your son!
  13. I get the feeling that the big ones are lazy and would rather set up for a sneak attack than give chase. What do you guys think?
  14. I have missed another full moon. Very nice walleye, did you get the length or weight? Looks like a wall hanger to me !
  15. This is good, when you find them ask yourself "Why are they here?" If you can get an idea of the habitat, then you can have reasonable success. And if you get really good at it then you can tell me how you did it.
  16. Here's one to put in your knower...when I was very young learning to catch stuff that moved, my uncle told me that any snake that swims with it's whole body floating is venomous. I am not sure if there is hard science behind this, and of course water snakes dive, but when they are cruising around you can always tell the difference. I did see a copperhead fall from a bluff into the creek (he did not like it) as it made haste toward the bank it's whole body was above the water, unlike the common water snake with just it's head above water. Anyone else notice this or is it just a tail. ha ha
  17. What a day ! I am still at the point in life where I work most of the time. Walleye on the craw too?
  18. Yep the last time that I went, there were places that all you could catch bottom bouncing was pound and a half channel cat. Those dang things were everywhere.
  19. They are there, the area sees a lot of pressure.
  20. Nice boat nice report. I have the same trouble on overcast days. I am pretty sure all the fish go shallow on overcast days, and in the evening. I have to get better at casting banks with jerk baits and plastics. The bass fisherman have us walleye people beat in this area. I would just about bet that most of your "trolling bites" came when you got a little sun, yes? I have the same trouble, give me a little sun and wind, and it's on. Thank you for your awesome report !
  21. Wind makes for better walleye fish'n most of the time. Thanks
  22. It is good to fish with friends. Did you find any walleye in that brush.
  23. the best way to find cotton mouths is to set on the bank with a lantern. It's a great time
  24. Saturday I was thinking that it might be time to learn more about planner boards and crankbaits. Ever tried it?
  25. North, south,or middle. Care to say? If not I get it?
