  1. My wife and I marked fish, jigged, spooned, cranked, fished deep and shallow, in the river and in the lake, even the spill way. Not ONE fish! I guess we suck, but we had a good time together, and it was a nice couple days. Thanks for the help.
  2. I fish Stockton for walleye as much as possible, January and February have been my toughest months. I was actually waiting to see who replied to your post. Waterpossum has given you the answer everyone has given me. Later on, after the spawn I can help, but right now I am learning too. The people on this forum have been very good to me. Good luck !
  3. Great job on the video and the catch! Looks like a beautiful day, not much wind .
  4. Love those smallies, my favorite !
  5. I think that would be great ! I think I could learn a lot ! My wife and I are hopefully going to do a little exploring this year maybe we can find a place in between each other to fish. Then we can tag team those toothy critters. Have a great weekend Mike
  6. You can also learn a lot by talking to "Superhero Walleye Hunter" like you Mike ! I found some jumbo chub on the creek, I think I will try some on Pomme this weekend. It's good to see a post from you !
  7. Never mind found it duh. I guess I am looking for fish in too many places, it wasn't computing.
  8. I have been looking on the map I guess I don't know where you mean. Sorry. And a walleye or 3 would be a welcome treat too !
  9. I will be buying one, then I will put some bow fishing line on it, that should do it. Great info !
  10. I will be looking for one for sure. I broke down and bought one of those fancy trolling motors last year, so boat control is for the most part a nonissue. Thanks
  11. I have lost a few too. I like the flicker minnow really well, holographic shad color seems to call the walleye at certain times. Which kind of lure retriever are you using ? I figured those things were just a gimmick, I have heard of the spark plug thing but have never tried it. While jigging a spoon I did get a nice rapala crank bait out of 18 feet of water. It had been there a while, It was covered in green goo and all the hooks were gone. With a good cleaning and some new hooks, I think it is as good as new. Colors not bad either.
  12. Thank you very much! The plans are for Pomme this weekend, the wife wants to try for a muskie for her birthday, then we will start planning a trip to that area. I guess this will be the year for the obscure catch. It should make for some interesting weekends ! Many folks on this forum have been really helpful. I am very thankful for the help. This trip should make a great video !
  13. That would make a good key chain.
  14. I caught more crappie on a #7 blue tiger flicker shad trolling @ 1.5 mph than I have with any other crank bait. You just have to hit it at just the right time .
  15. I think this link should clear it up http://huntfish.mdc.mo.gov/hunting-trapping/regulations/general-hunting-regulations
  16. No rain on this topic for sure, I would rather keep it real. Sounds like a real juicy snip- it of info on the 67 bridge area. The last time that I was in SE Mo everyone had river jets I am not sure how my deep V walleye boat would do ( I fish for walleye on Stockton Lake with this boat ) but it sounds like I could be possible where you mentioned. I mentioned this general location and possible adventure to my wife she said "We could take off a couple weekends and spend the night..." So I figure 7/8 of the battle is over. I will take a look on the map. Hendrickson ?? Thanks for all the help, I just think it would be great to catch a walleye in this area !
  17. Thank you very much, I think it would be a precious treasure to find and catch a walleye of any size from what might be the most beautiful natural area in the state. If I were to land one it would go back in for sure, the picture would be great ! It sounds like it would be a costly quest for someone like me who lives so far away. Thanks for taking the time to share the info, might be something for the bucket list.
  18. I have heard that there is a population of walleye in some of the river systems there. I am 5 1/2 hours away, so I would appreciate any shared info. I used to do a lot of back packing and small mouth bass fishing when I was younger, I remember it as beautiful country, that was 30 yrs ago. I hope it is still the same.
  19. I bought some, they have great colors this year !
  20. I now have braid on all my spinning reels. I love it even for light tackle, but I tie a leader on, it doesn't really matter what kind of leader, for different applications I use different things. 6# p line green in the creeks and 10-12# flouro carbon on the lake. I tie it in with a double uniknot then reel it up near the reel so my leader is about twice the length of the pole. This give me plenty of chances to tie on before I have to retie a leader. Always keep braided line scissors with you. Buy good braid that is slick, I like power pro, or spider wire. Both bands are have some kind of coating that seems to make them more smooth, I am sure every band has something about the same. When I first began this braid journey, I thought I would save some money and go with academy brand all I can say is don't do it, it is strong enough, but it is like a dang saw going though the eyes of a fishing rod. I try to store my rods out of direct sunlight this seems to make the line last longer. My trolling poles have had the same line on them for a year, when I used something other than braid (for trolling) I would have to change it every other trip. Sensitivity is awesome, castiblity is fair, but you get used to it. It casts better when wet. So far so good, all my poles have it.
  21. I thought I could get one walleye for every month. I thought it would be a neat personal goal, but I blew it for January. February isn't looking to good for me.

Thanks for all the info you post, it has been very helpful.

  22. I have done it but not this late in the winter, it worked well on Table Rock in the fall, and I have caught some walleye on Stockton in the fall. I was using a 1/2 oz basspro jiggy twitch it spoon in about 30 or so feet of water. See my video below A week ago at Stockton my wife caught a white bass in 70 FOW on a gold 5/8 lipless crank bait it was 45 ft down ! Good luck
  23. Thanks you all are great ! I will post the results, maybe we will get a couple walleye in the boat too !
  24. Check out the tablerock forum, looks like they are catching bass like crazy. I was after walleye figured my odds were better at Stockton. I will be going to the rock next trip... I think ?? Note I have caught walleye on tablerock just not as many, I figured if the bass are hot maybe the walleye are too.
  25. I fish Stockton quite a bit, but my wife would like to try for a musky on her birthday. All though I have fished pomme I don't know much about this bite. Stockton has been tough the last 5 weeks or so, I was wondering how pomme is. I need all the help I can get, don't really want to come back empty handed. I need a good picture of the wife with her first musky, photo shop is not an option. Thanks
