  1. Thanks for the help
  2. I fish Stockton a lot ,but I was thinking about trying some walleye fishing on Tablerock. I have seen some pics and heard a few stories about fish well over 20". Does anyone have any info on the general area that I should be looking at. I hate to make a dry run. Thanks
  3. The wife and I took 5 out of 11 home 15 1/2 - 17 1/2. caught a lot of other stuff, kind'a slow for us. Didn't get on the water until 10 am.
  4. I am not sure about the dam (rocks), but there are a few flats in that area. Try areas that are 20ish FOW next to the main channel . If I say any more I will be giving up a good spot. I will be there tomorrow too. Somewhere
  5. That is the nice thing about this site we are all thinking about new things. We can try them all and then get together here and talk about what works. I say let's try all of them. I am going to try one of those $8 flat raps behind a bouncer and see what happens. I did catch a 16" on a berkley twichtail and a 1/4 jig slow drifting in 18 FOW. I will be there this weekend hopefully.
  6. night crawler on a floating jighead works, but I have watch a suspended walleye go from 12' to 18' after a crawler spinner harness. it must be the vibration/flash.
  7. Mine had holes from a whale tail so no love lost. I probably would had a problem with drilling holes in my outboard, but I use the flap a lot now, like every time I go out.
  8. Caught a limit of 4, 1 @ 15, 3 @ 16 18 - 24 FOW The pink spinner strikes again !
  9. I have a trolling flap. http://www.davisnet.com/marine/products/list_marine.asp?grp=mo2 I can go 1 mph, before the flap the slowest I could go was 3 mph. My boat is not real heavy 2003 Tracker 17 pro V WT.
  10. I have the steering wheel tied because the motor will creep over to one side sometimes, it might be because of the trolling flap I use. ( it was windy, if I let the big motor do the pushing and the trolling motor do the steering even in the wind I can easily troll all day one one charge) I went with the 24 volt.( it will pull my boat over 3 mph) As I said I read a lot and did not come up with any good reason why I needed three batteries. I will tell you this, if I had to do it again I think I would buy the saltwater model, it does not have a foot pedal, you don't need one. Let me know if you want to take a closer look and maybe we can have a good reason to go to the lake. I need all the reasons I can get !
  11. Caught 10 walleye by myself lost a keeper put 3 in the boat 2 @ 17" and 1, 18". Fished a bunch of places. All came on pink tiger spinners and bouncers.
  12. I got the motor guide. It claims a much tighter spot lock and I run lowrance depth finders, but after some painstaking research I think both are great. You can't go wrong with either. I have a you tube video if you want to view it, just google my name it should come up. I am trolling at 1 mph with the outboard while letting the trolling motor do the steering. It has a course lock feature which is awesome. I had lots buyers remorse, but it quickly goes away the more you use and learn what you can do.
  13. The last time I did these kinds of numbers which was a couple years ago, I found a small step that was 18-20 ft deep then a drop into the main channel. That is the way it was monday for me, I just kept working that same step over and over. My wife bought me one of those fancy gps trolling motors, I am here to tell y'u that thing is awesome ! It will change the way you fish
  14. Fished all day with a friend, finally found some keeper sized walleye. We caught 30 in all, about 1/2 were of keeper size biggest was 18". Put 8 in the boat, caught 1 on a jig the rest on 2 oz bouncer and spinner/crawler harness. This is the most walleye I have caught all year. I think it was just location, or the moon who knows. Caught brim, cat fish and some bass too. Great time !
  15. I know I have been looking for that guy too. I fished Saturday and had about the same luck, along with a bunch of other fish including a 10lb carp I caught 7 walleye with the largest 17.5 inches, all went back in the lake.
  16. Fished yesterday all day mostly with crawlers and spinners, catching a host of different fish, but no walleye, until right before dark on a 3" pearl w/ chartreuse tail crappie slider. Over 20 FOW @ about 16-18' suspended. As usual tough day for me. My new Motor Guide Xi5 makes life much easier.
  17. I will be there, too Look for a tan tracker deep v dual console with a white Bimini. Thinking about putting a minnow on the spinner.
  18. I have had good luck with a lindy rig, and a gold spinner and gold beads. I use my out board to troll ( I have a flap) 1mph. The lindy rig and crawler harness set up let me get away from the boat, much like trolling a crank bait. I have to admit I have never had numbers of walleye like some I read here with any method. I still have much to learn.
