  1. Wow 6 # that's a good one ! The wife and I are talking about going down there in the heat of the summer and try for some of those deep striper, that looks like fun to me !
  2. No I wasn't here long enough, but I would think that the early morning and evening bite would still be the best. Strolling a jig worked well.
  3. Hey those are some great people over there. I love that place. This was my second attempt, I only got 9 out of 12 the first time.
  4. When will you be in the neighborhood next ?
  5. Thank you for following this quest. Without out the help that I received here on OAF I would not have been able to complete this adventure. Thank you all !
  6. I bet that was a blast !
  7. Night crawlers, 1/2 night a night crawler on the slow death hook, thread it on pinch the tail off just below the hook. RPS is the walleye dude, read everything that he has taken the time to share here. You will get a lot of info at one time instead of piece meal ideas from all of us. I am very thankful for his input. Good luck out there, post what you catch, but never post your location if you can help it, share those things in PM's There seems to be many walleye in the lake, they will hit about anything, until the water gets to about 50 degrees, then it is good to have a good understanding of habitat and some good friends to feed you helpful tips so you can stay on them.
  8. Hey RPS were do you buy your components ? Those smiley blades work great !
  9. Here's the magic Stockton color, works every time, I don't know why, and you will even catch crappie if you get it close to a brush pile.
  10. That is some really great info, Thank you, watch out you might have a big o walleye smoke that jig !
  11. Holy smokes, that's a dandy !
  12. Thanks guys. With no thermocline they can be anywhere. Lmt out I think you are doing just fine, if you get any better there won't be any walleye left
  13. Wow ! I bet that was fun !
  14. We were up in that area, everything was slow, someone was live bait rigging, in that area in the day time, probably a guide, they had 3 people in the boat and probably 5 poles out all the time. I saw a report where someone caught about 30 hybrids, I expect it was those folks. They seemed to have a system. From what I was told stripers are spooky creatures so 200 boats on a small lake probably threw them of the normal pattern.
  15. I couldn't not find them so where did they go? 40 ft of water wow ! If I had spent more time fishing and less time filming, I think I would have caught a limit in this spot.
  16. I'm not going to lie, it was tough for us. It is very clear, so the fish didn't like my braided line, so I had to go to a very long fluoro' leader. 6 to 8 lb fluorocarbon was recommended, light colored baits, very long casts. It is a morning and evening bite. By the time you get there it should be really good, they had a lot of rain, it seemed like the lake had not normalized yet. Good luck
  17. Same here buddy, I hope we can all get together again sometime.
  18. Drifting a swim bait while running the trolling motor, while my wife casting a jerkbait at the bank.
  19. What do you want for the 5 I need one with sonar only, is it color? If I was going spend that kind of money I would look at the Lowrance TI models You should be able to get everything, with a large 12" screen in the $1700 range then you can buy two and give me the old one
  20. Got him strolling a jig, maybe some day I will look for some more down there.
  21. AWESOME ! Looks like the summer pattern is setting up.
  22. Nothing beats that smile for sure ! I'm smiling right now too !
  23. If you want to have some fun, you can put me on some walleye, what do you think?
  24. Good idea, if there is a way, I get my lure back. Shoot I have gotten my lure retriever out for a 1/2 oz jig with a swim bait, and got it back. I hate loosing stuff. I throw enough money in the lake.
  25. It took me a while to figure out the walleye, you're doing good, watch out that walleye fishing is addictive, you will be broke before you know it
