  1. Merc, thanks for the details!
  2. Nice to see a good crappie report - really appreciate the details on what they were hitting on! Good stuff.
  3. BOOOOOM! So awesome. Thx for the report and pics
  4. Thanks Bill! (and everyone else). If somehow I figure out a way to get down to the Lake this weekend ( Live in Kansas City) we will definitely swing by the tourney. I think I am going to buy the Bass Pro reel that ABK suggested simply bc I have a $100 gift card. Once again I have to say that this board has been such a gold mine for me. Can't believe how responsive you guys all are and how willing you all are to help. Thanks so much and hopefully a few years down the road I can be a significant contributor.
  5. Awesome! I'm hoping to get into the TR Crappie this spring.
  6. ABK- This is exactly what I needed, really appreciate it. I knew I needed to do it but was really looking for a solid recommendation and a few pointers. I'll pick up that model and put it to work this year!
  7. Nice report!! Rookie question - is that red eyed shad considered a lipless crank bait? - can someone give me a few pointers on how to fish this bait. Is a bait caster required or can I throw on a spinning rod? On that same note - how imperative is it that I buy and learn to throw a baitcaster? I
  8. This might be the best report I have ever read. Unbelievable stuff Babbler!
  9. Thanks for the detailed report, lots of good info in this post. Looks like a great day on the lake with your boy!
  10. Appreciate it Bigmo - sounds a hell of a lot better than a 20 hr work day!
  11. Great Report! Sounds like an awesome day on the water. Appreciate you sharing!
  12. What an awesome post. This helps out a newer guy like myself so much. Love seeing the lures you are using and thanks for sharing. When finding the crappie, are you just looking for brushpiles? I know some people are hitting them on mudflats as well.
  13. Thanks again Bill! - Can't believe that water is still so nasty in Big Creek / Big Bay ... It has to clear up soon.
  14. Nice job! Maybe not a ton of numbers , but you landed some NICE fish!
  15. Nice fish! Thanks for the report.
  16. Great to hear. Never had much success with Crappie on TR, although we have not spent alot of time chasing them. Would you be willing to share some pointers? Are you throwing towards docks and swimming little tube jigs? Dropping tubes over deep brush piles? Locating fish and structure on electronics? Sounds Fun!
  17. Nice Report... can't believe how muddy that water still is... maybe this warm weather will clear it out. I need to get a lure retriever, never used one. Nice Fish!
  18. Thanks DTRS gonna hit the NED hard and try and get lucky. Unfortunately we can't really trailer anywhere
  19. Well it is VERY muddy back here in big bay. Any tips for getting on them in muddy conditions?? Or are we SOL??
  20. Thank you both - Will make a point to focus on the rock transitions DTRS... our dock is in the back half of the creek so we will definitely be Throwing the NED around back there while hanging on the dock and the shoreline. Sad to hear about the dirty water back there, hope it clears up. Babbler - your reports have been unbelievable! Still going to give the wart and that Booyah rig a try back there and cross my fingers. Babbler - I'm sorry to say this, but I was so relieved to read that even you get skunked out there here and there... but you battled back to have a killer day! Good luck to you guys as well!
  21. Can't thank you enough ABKENNAN! - I'll go pick one of these Booyah rigs up tonight. Thanks for the info man, definitely a couple new ideas here that I will try out.
  22. The weekend is within striking distance and only about 12 more hours locked in this cubicle before I hit the road and head towards Shell Knob. This will be our first outing of 2016 and looking forward to some time on the water, hopefully some decent weather, and a bite or two. Looking for some tips from the OAF masters... Our Game Plan: - We do not have a boat that can cover a ton of water safely so we tend to fish Big Bay/ Big Creek down to Campbell Point and don't stray much further than that. - Going to be throwing NED around like crazy - Any tips here? We had some success with this rig in December and can't wait to get it back in the water - Jerkbait? - I don't have much experience throwing a jerk bait? Any pointers - should we even be throwing it? - We had a ton of success in December out in the middle of Big Creek - we would spot pockets of baitfish hitting the top of the water, run over there, throw a spinner and nailed about 20 fish -A Rig - after reading that thread yesterday I really want to throw it, but don't think I'll have enough time to pull all the pieces together before tomorrow. Below are a couple pics of the water we will be covering. Any tips on tactics and where we should be focusing our time would be much appreciated. Hope some of you guys are able to get out this weekend as well. Can't wait to read the reports. I love reading this forum bc it allows me to almost always try something new and learn a new tactic and learn more about the fish each time we go out. CHEERS!
  23. No Ned?!!
  24. Is it possible to catch bass in these conditions? I'll be back down near the Shell Knob Bridge on Friday and Big Creek on Saturday... Do I have any chance of landing any fish or should I pass on getting all my gear rigged up?
  25. Another fantastic report... thanks Billy. Invaluable info here.
