  1. I'll let Shane know but I'm sure it's from low DO in the water. When the water is off, the outlets provide water high in O2 which keeps the upper area in fair shape. When they run water, they inject O2 in that water to bring up the DO to "safe" levels. Every fall season is the same - fish battle low DO below most tailwaters. That's the nature of the beast. When Table Rock turns over, it will improve 400%. But the water becomes more turbid... our water is already very turbid so this may cause a bigger problem. I'm hoping not. I've never seen our lake water so dirty this time of year. It's all being caused by the spring rains/flash floods.
  2. Rules added. CAM Trout Tournament 2.pdf
  3. It's legal according to the MDC rules but I will put something in my rules so people won't do it. Thanks
  4. I forgot to restrict the outlets. If the water is running, that about eliminates the wader. But I don't think it would be fair for anyone but the guy who has the favored spot at outlet 1 and 2 if the water was running and not restrict the outlets. They could sit in one place and clean up.
  5. CAM Trout Tournament.pdf Check this out and see if I've missed something. This is preliminary! Not set in stone. CAM Trout Tournament.pdf
  6. I like the suggestions... thanks Picking the top 4 or 10 - you'd still have to go through all the pictures to get the top lengths so I don't think it would eliminate any time. I'd like to see the total length - just because I think that would be a HUGE, impressive number. Measuring the same fish - should be able to tell the same fish by identifying spots of marks in 2 pics in a row UNLESS they stagger the fish. That would be definitely cheating and would hopefully be caught in a lie detector test, if administered. They'll be a lot of ways to cheat - for sure. I like the idea of taking a pics of a phone time of watch time before the first fish pic. That would mean everybody would be out either wading or boating in place at 8 am instead of a start from the dock. Again, you could have your first fish in hand before 8, take a pic of the time and then your fish caught before 8 BUT that again would be cheating and would be caught by a lie detector test. Heck... you might even fail the test thinking you did something wrong when you didn't!!
  7. Dave- I'd like to pit waders against boat guys at least once. Yes if we do it we'll have specials. Im sure we can work out boat partners.
  8. I'm looking at December 12, Saturday, for the first tournament. It's not an official date - just considering. I don't expect a big turnout because of the date... just want to try the concept out. It'll be fun though... lake would be turned and fishing should be excellent!
  9. Catch and release, Dave... Cheating - polygraphs will have to do for stemming those who would want to cheat. That's about all I can do. If someone cheats, I'll press charges and post their names on social media... I don't think anyone would want that stain. There's not enough money to win, believe me. Crowding- yes most would go up but isn't it crowded from Fall Creek down? One could fish down and target browns all day. They would measure too. You still have to catch the fish to score. Of course, it would be an artificial lure only tournament regardless where you fish.
  10. No. Wouldn't make any difference how many in s boat. Measure your own fish. Each person has his own measure tool, camera
  11. Re read my initial post... I see where you're getting the kayak thing. All our trout tourneys are boat only. This one might be both. Kayak would be optional I guess.
  12. How'd we get on kayaks... We threaten a polygraph in all tournaments... issued one in a tournament in 2014. That tends to keep people honest.
  13. Seeing the post about kayak bass tournaments and the measuring devices they're using, I'm kicking around the idea of having a trout tournament along the same lines. Here's my idea: I provide the fish rulers. They're returned at the end of the day. Everybody has to have a way to take pics of their catch. Camera phone, camera. Must be digital. Start 8 am and stop at 4 pm. Each angler takes a pic of each trout caught on the ruler showing length. Length will be scored up to the half-inch. If a trout is 14-1/8th inch, it's scored 14.5 inches. At "weigh-in", phones pics are downloaded to my computer as well as SD card images from cameras. Then I will go through and tally the total length of each angler's catch. *This may take a long time - winners may not be announced till the next day! Ties will be broken by the longest fish, second longest and so on. OR tie could be broken by the most fish caught. Tournament fee would by $20 per person. Pay 4-5 places. I MAY allow wade fishing. Waders would have to prove they are starting after 8 am and quit at 4 pm. I'd have to figure out a way to do this but I think it could be done. If I allow wade fishing, I probably will restrict fishing in the outlets. What do you think? I know there are those who don't like any kind of fishing contest- period. I respect that, but there are those of us who like the competition, as well as the fellowship.
  14. There's a setting called "reactive" that is supposed to change and fit where you put it. When I started chat, it placed a long, vertical ad right in the middle of the page, covering up the chat box. So I changed the ad to a banner 780 px wide- which is running to side for mobile. So, I changed it to a smaller 320 px wide ad that should be good for both.
  15. Glad to do it!
  16. I fished about 90 minutes- quit at dark. Boated to Lookout and fished the Stimulator. Lots of rising fish in the seams of current along the bluff bank. Caught 3 rainbows- chunks. Dropped a #18 rusty midge under the dry and caught one, broke if off. Switched to a 3/32nd oz jig. White - nothing. Brown/orange/orange head - 3 rainbows. One went 18 inches. Broke off. Then threw a sculpin - nothing. Ran out of light. Saw a bunch of mayflies hatching - I think the rainbows were rising on them. That would have been a first if they were. Tons of midges coming off.
  17. Does anyone have any river images of the Big River they would like to share? River shots, with or without fish. I need some to create a Big River Page. Thanks
  18. Created a forum for the Big River... Thanks for posting your report!!!
  19. Another brown yesterday. Half-inch short of the first.
  20. Honestly don't know yet. It'll be a while before I get time to set it up. But we'll figure it out.
  21. I'm working on it... No cost to you guys... all these apps cost money. That's what the ads pay for
