  2. If t you at deal doesn't work I'd like the 110 mcstciks and Sammy
  3. Wow! Lookout island sure has changed alot since I fished it last in the mid 90's!
  4. I guess my tackle hoard is my retirement plan after all...
  5. http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=181993057414&alt=web Here's the link to the rod... Also there is a youtube video from icast about the rod. It shows the action.
  6. What a great read! Thanks! Here in Colorado we throw the rig quite a bit! I have filled a limit in 5 minutes on several occasions. Normally it takes about 10 Anyway... I found a really good inexpensive A rig rod. It is the Denali Bottom Feeder catfish rod. (Ebay you can get them for $60 shipped!!! ) It comes in several weights, Google Denali bottom feeder and look at the rating page to see what weight will fit your needs. I use a MH rated for 3-5 ounces. Also I throw my big HUDD swimbaits and Mag spoons on it. It is eglass so acts more like a cranking stick. I have yet to have a fish pull off of it because of the "give" of the rod. I have paired it with a Calcutta 300 for line capacity. I would also recommend watching those videos and learn to do it. I find myself throwing big cranks or football jigs with the lob cast.
  7. Every time I read one of these I am reminded I have two... That are collecting dust.
  8. It would work! We used to catch em on suspending rouges alot on the upper end. You better hang on if you do it down on the lower end your liable to pull up a "big mouth green trout" about 10#.. they are there! I had on up to my boat that was north of 10# about 15 years ago.
  9. Beautiful fish! I caught a 12.6# brown in 1991 in that very same spot! Back in those days it was a pound off the state record.
  10. Reading this brought back and old memory. We ran Fall Creek Dock for a couple years. One day a brand new shiney Bass boat with about "700" hp motor came flying up the lake past the dock. The lake was super low that day for some reason. The boat hit the rock pile at mouth of Fall creek at about 50 mph! The whole boat launched 5' out of the water for 40 yards! He got it shut down and made his way over to the dock on the trolling motor. He borrowed our phone to call his wife to bring the trailer up from Branson to save him having to troll all the way back. I do not remember the extent of the damage but will never forget the look on his face! HA!
  11. Many moons ago my Dad was part owner in AAA marine at Baxter. He had an old Red jeep with a hitch on the front. Wed launch boats all the time with it. It works awesome!
  12. Between us an the fence post... The fish don't care if half the paints gone;)
  13. Stay off eBay I don't need people running up bids.
  14. I appreciate that. We have alot of opportunity here to catch brown ones here. I want to target a big prespawn Green mama. As far as Dad is concerned hell be perfectly content dragging a ned around just catching numbers. With the weather pattern this year it will be hard to predict what we'll be facing but either way it will be a very sentimental trip for us both.
  15. Thanks about what I remember. We will be staying at Village on Indian Point. My Wife and daughter will be heading into town daily to get there style of fishing..."for deals". I will plan on a good day to make the run so likely will be fishing around IP for the most part. Wasn't sure if the Arig will still be a player then or if they be moving to the backs by then. How do big hudds or big hard swimbaits produce there? My Ned and DS box never leave the boat out here and will definitly be making the trip. We "might" trailer over Rockaway and try em on the hudds but affraid that might be a bit early for that bite.
