  1. Anybody know of a pond with trout near Stateline and 435 but preferably in Missouri? I'm visiting family for Thanksgiving and might have some time to get out. I'd like to fish in MO so I don't heve to buy a non-resident fishing permit for Kansas. Actually I'll need to get out, it's my inlaws!!! Help a brother out please. SIO3
  2. We have a farm in IL, on the east side of the state and we'll go out with two dogs around Thanksgiving. Brittanys Last year with one dog we shot 8 birds in 4 hours or so. Good luck, and report your success. I will too. Tomorrow it's off to Bennett with the family till sunday. SIO3
  3. I should apologize, I was bored at work and wanted to yank some chains. Seriously, I can't change anything so I roll with the punches like FT57 suggests. I'm a stream fisherman, whether it's smallies or trout first, but I like to bass fish in lakes too. It more depends on the logistics of a fishing trip than anything else. Heck, there isn't much to choose from in the Metro areas anyway. I'll tell you one thing, we have pretty darn good here in southern MO and northern AR. And I'm glad I'm at least near it somemwhat here in St Louis. SIO3
  4. The Post Dispatch ran a story with pictures of coyotes in Tower Grove Park last year. SIO3
  5. I would love to fish the White before the dams were built. I bet it awesome. I think most people who don't like tailwater trout just aren't very good fisherman. They have trouble catching fish and to make themselves feel better they say they don't like it. Like Wayne said they are bigger and wilder and some guys just can't catch big, wild fish. SIO3
  6. Tapawingo has a few hundred running around. Nice shot!! SIO3
  7. I think a couple years ago they found a dead one that was hit by a car in the KC metro area. You could Google it up pretty quick though. SIO3
  8. Santana, clapton, CDB, Stevie, Skynyrd, Beatles, chilly peppers and all of the southern rockers. No old school country though.
  9. No problem RC PM Dano and he'll delete for you. Snagged
  10. I guess I'll step into the line of fire. Why is it impractical? Actually sounds like a good idea to me. SIO3
  11. Sorry, that is correct. I didn't look carefully enough at Cricket's post. SIO3
  12. I feel you Cricket but what about your body hair? Are you going to burn that off too? SIO3
  13. Yes Cricket. Not in the last few years Murdoch. SIO3
  14. We currently have two Spring hole cabins reserved but some in our group are bailing out. The whole trip may fall apart this weekend. It's more of a family picnic with fishing for us. The little kids like it. SIO3
  15. I was the one who called Phil with a report that I saw didymo near KOA. I've fished in that stuff on the White for years now. But, the man said no Didymo in Taney. I disagree. For the record, I think didymo was discovered in the White since the 1980's. Some say it was there a lot longer than that. During that time, me and my buddies would fish the White and then head back through MO fishing Bennett, The Current, Taney and many other trout streams on our way home. No one had any idea then that what we were doing was bad. Of course the bloom wasn't as big either. But I can tell you with absolute certainty that fisherman have been fishing infected waters for years and then going to other fisheries. Because I was doing it, and so were my buddies. Crane included! They have hashed this out several times on Wilson's site since 05 or earlier. I'll take all the felt boots in size 10.5 to 11. http://flyfishingarkansasandmissouri.yuku.com/topic/1102/t/The-curse-of-didy.html http://flyfishingarkansasandmissouri.yuku.com/topic/1140/t/Didymo.html SIO3
  16. You do need the trout stamp to fish inside the parks during CnR. It took the place of the winter tag a few years ago. SIO3
  17. Nice!!!! That's a true trophy on a fly. They are much harder to fool than a trout. SIO3
  18. Thanks guys, she's very proud. SIO3
  19. You got your wish, They passed a no-smoking law in that community a while back and they had to put out the smokes. SIO2

  21. Thanks Dano! I got the Hodgmans for $75 so I'll probably keep them no matter what and special order a pair of Simm's. SIO3
  22. Eric, at least you don't have far to fall. I'm 5'10", 210 and size 10.5 to 11 shoe. I looked at Simm's website and they have the same sizes listed for both the Freestones and Headwaters. Can't Touch This!!
  23. Don't get in a fiberglass boat with those studs. SIO3
  24. I had the st charles store order the medium/short in both the freestones and the headwaters. So we'll see if they fit before opening of CnR weekend at Bennett. I ordered the Guidelights from Hodgman, in the same size as the ones I had as a backup plan. Thew the old ones in the dumpster at Quarry Park last Sunday when I left. Can't touch this!!!! SIO3
