It was frustrating (for me) to learn, I actually gave up on it last year and then picked it back up again this spring and it just clicked. You MUST keep the main line TIGHT while wrapping the fluoro, and pull each wrap snug as you go. I have caught at least a hundred fish on the same leader that started at 6' and is now down to 4' from retying lures in the past few months. No issues with 30lb braid to 20lb fluoro flipping jigs and slamming the hook, no giants but several in the 4-5lb class. Was getting rods ready for this weekend and 4 of the 7 I'm taking for bass will have braid on them, 2 of them braid to fluoro.
